_Once I stood on the edge of a bridge,_

_strolled along the lakeshore,_

_striving to catch from afar_

_ a glimpse of your matchless beauty._

_ _

_Once I climbed atop a pavilion,_

_seeking a road at land's end,_

_yearning for a vision_

_of your fair, ineffable presence._

_ _

_Ten thousand yards of silk,_

_your lightness cannot contain._

_The moon hovers miles away,_

_its shadow broad, expansive._

_ _

_The boundless sky, the neverending stream,_

_waves breaking without surcease._

_All excite the unfathomable depth_

_of which we call eternity._

_ _

_The road is long, the view obscured,_

_with thousands of threads entangled._

_Pursuing the truth, you toil endlessly._

_In dreams you've surely been there._

_ _

_Yet inspiration has struck, time and again,_

_lifting us onto the shoulders of giants._

_From Euclid to Descartes, Newton to Gauss,_

_and Riemann to Poincare._

_ _

_O! The phantom of all things,_

_So hard to divine in daylight's glare._

_Then suddenly, when the radiance dims,_

_she reveals a glimpse of her unseen form._

_ _

_A chance encounter, unrivalled splendor,_

_from genius through the ages._

_Let us celebrate the poetry of the universe_

_and the geometry through which it sings._
