Hope.Hope is dangerous.

I'll be honest

With you now.

I'm completely,

utterly terrified,

Of being around you.

I have to throw down the

Anchor,

To keep my feet planted,

And resist the urge to run away

Because I know that

If I stay to long,

If I continue

To look into those eyes

Every single night and morning,

I will lose myself in them

And there will be no turning back.

When I'm around you,

my heavy heart finally feels lifted

And it terrifies me

Because I know if it's dropped now

There will be no going back,

No repairing this empty,

beaten heart.

Which is why I'm completely,

Utterly terrified

Of being around you.

I put my game face on,

And resist the urge to flee

because I know if I keep this up,

I will lose myself in you.
