I can't stop thinking

Of when you were lying

In my arms

What did I do,

To deserve such a moment?

I took advantage of it,

Savored it,

but that didn't prevent my

heart from swelling up

With sadness

Was I going to lose this,

In a day?

In a week?

In a month?

The thoughts ran through my mind,

As I looked upon you.

And then your eyes slowly opened,

Our gazes locked,

And I felt a pang in my heart

That was when I knew for sure,

I wanted you.
