We need back-up, they are going to overrun our post soon! We can't hold much long-AHHH!\"  \na German Shepherd yelled while he was hit by five rounds from a machine gun on the APC that is  \nstarting to move toward their position.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Fuck! A T-900! We have noting to combat armor!\" a human yield. \"We need to get the hell out  \nof here!\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Hell! We can't retreat yet! We have to hold this post for a few more minutes,\" yelled the C.O.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \nThere was a crackling hiss over the radio,  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"...anyone hear me!?\" More static, \"this is a retreat order \\*static\\*... I repeat ALL units within the  \ncity are to fall back immediat-\" There was a loud crack over the radio as the voice went dead over  \nthe intercoms in all the soldiers' helmets.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Okay, you all heard the order!\" yelled the CO. Turning to a dark Orange Fox, he shouted.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;\"Desert! You try to take out that damn APC so we can get out of this hell hole!\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"YES SIR!\" I said \"but with what? We have nothing to combat armor!\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"There are a few RPG's in that jeep in front of us, send that damn APC to hell!\" yelled the C.O.  \nonce again  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"YES SIR!\" I said once again to the C.O.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Okay,\" said the C.O. While turning to a black wolf-husky near by, \"Black! You and your men  \ngive him some covering fire now!\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"YES SIR\" Black said.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Jon, Ken, and Gem... give Desert some covering fire so he can get to the jeep!\" Black said to his  \nmen.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"YES SIR!\" they all shouted simultaneously.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \nI started to run from were our post was to the jeep wile Blacks men were suppressing the enemy  \nbut that did not last long because a sniper started to open fire, killing Jon and forcing the rest of  \nthem to duck behind the wall for cover.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Damn! A bloody sniper! Get down all of you before he blows your head off,\" yelled the C.O. But,  \nBlack did not listen. He continued to fire at the enemy to give me some form of covering fire but  \nonly for short bursts, he would move continuously to keep the sniper guessing.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; 'Damn it, I won't last long before that sniper gets me,' Black was saying to himself, ‘but Desert will  \nget killed if I don't suppress that sniper... where the hell is that damn sniper?'  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \nBlack was now trying to force the sniper to show himself while also trying to suppress the enemy soldiers.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Black,\" I said to over the intercom in my helmet, \"can you find that sniper!\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"No Desert he keeps moving from window to wind-\" Black started to say before I interrupted.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"What damn building is he in?!\" I yelled \"I have the damn sniper rifle so tell me what building and  \nwhat floor so I can kill him!\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"He is in the Forth building down on the seventh floor! I'll draw his fire so you can have a clear shot  \nat him\" Black said  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Rodger that. I will need covering fire the second I get that sniper so I can get back to you guys!  \nThey are starting to zero in on my position,\" I said  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \nBlack started to fire at the enemy solders that were moving closer to my position. In a bright flash  \nof the weapons muzzle, the sniper fired at Black, missing by mere millimeters. That gave me enough  \ntime to zero in on the sniper and kill him. Their sniper may have been good, but I was better. Holding  \nsteady and pulling the trigger, I felt the riffle buck in my arms as the lead slug accelerated along  \nthe rail, magnets pulling and pushing it faster until it shot from the barrel milliseconds later. I saw  \nthe sniper's head explode in a red flash.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Fire now, the sniper is down!\" I yelled over the mic.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Everyone fire!!! Desert got the sniper\" Black yield to the men.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"You heard him, fire you morons! Give Desert some covering fire!\" yelled the C.O. wanting to get  \nhis men to safety and knowing that I was their only hope.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \nI jump over the low sandbag wall with three RPG's and some ammo.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Holy Shit! They have a MBT 1000 coming!!!\" yelled a solder.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \nRight when I looked, the Heavy tank fired a HESS (High Explosive Salvo Shell) round and blew half  \nof our unit away including our C.O.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"AHHHHHHHHHFUCKKKKKK!!!\" the C.O. screamed. His left leg had been blown off from  \nthe blast and parts of his left arm were just a bloody pulp.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"SIR!\" Black yelled, \"Medic! We need a medic now!\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"God damn them to hell!\" I yelled, \"we need to get out of here, they are starting to get there heavy  \narmor in!\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Fire the RPG's at the heavy tank and put it out of commission!\" Black yelled.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"But sir we won't even scratch the damn thing with these RPG's!\" yelled a solder.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Fire at the tracks of the tank!\" I yelled, \"They are the only weak spot on that heavy armor!\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Get ready to fire!\" yelled one of the officers to another solder with the RPG.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"......... FIRE!!\" I yelled, simultaneously firing one of the RPG's at the tank.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \nOne RPG missed, hitting a car near the tank killing three of the enemy infantry, but the other two  \nhit both tracks blowing them apart and stopping that tank dead in its tracks.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Okay, the tank is no longer mobile! They can still use the canon though so stay down!\" I shouted.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Men, the C.O. is dead so I will be taking full command!\" said Black \"Start to fall back and stay low.\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n===============================================================  \nWhen we got the order to retreat many of the guys in our battalion were saying we can't just run  \naway, but their wasn't really a chance of use holding the city. We took heavy losses, we had lost  \nso much already and now... now, we have a new battle front and it looks like it is only a matter of  \ntime before...... before the end.  \n===============================================================  \nOutskirts of Enderon city 1300 hours  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"You heard me Colonel, you are to hold the I 95 Bridge until the air force can blow the it,\" the  \ngeneral was telling Black over the radio.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Yes Sir,\" Black said \"I will try to hold the bridge\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"General, we will hold the bridge and make sure those damn UWF soldiers know they made the  \nwrong move in invading Amber,\" I said to the General, cutting off Black.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Good\" the General said before the radio lost its connection.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Desert, you and your tanks set up a defensive perimeters in the suburbs left of the Highway. A few  \nof my scouts are saying they saw a column of heavy armor moving toward us from that direction,\"  \nBlack said.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Yes Sir. I will set up some defenses on the streets and put some infantry in the houses but, I will  \nkeep a small unit of heavy armor at the bridge. You will need them more then I will,\" I said.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Good idea, those tanks are our only armor until I can reestablish contact with the air force's heavy  \ntransport drops,\" Said Black.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;\"And,\" he said, continuing, \"they are the only things we have to combat their MBT 1000's\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Just pray that they don't come in force with MBT 1000's... if they do we are going to lose this  \nbridge,\" I said.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Set up the defenses now, we don't have much time.\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Yes Sir,\" I said once again  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n~~~~~  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n1320 hours  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Sir, their first units have been spotted and it looks like they have mostly APC's with infantry and light  \ntanks up front,\" said a scout over his mic to Black  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"It looks like the battle has begun,\" Black said. He was over looking the suburbs from the west bank  \nof the river.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Desert, you have a column of light units coming your way so get ready.\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Yes Sir,\" I said, \"have you heard from the Air Force yet?\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Not since their last communication, but I expect them to be here in thirty minuets.\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"How about their HTD units?\" I asked.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"They are going to give us some reinforcements but they only have a limited amount of reserve  \nunits, so use your unit's wisely,\" Black said.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Okay sir,\" I said, \"how long till the enemy heavy armor arrives sir? I lost communications with  \nmy scout units.\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"I'm not sure Desert, but, I give them ten minutes before they arrive,\" Black replied over the mic.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Okay Black,\" I said.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"SIR! Enemy armor spotted,\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Men, get ready for one hell of a fight! The enemy will throw all they have at us to capture  \nthis bridge,\" I said.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n~~~~~~  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n1330 hours  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \nWithin ten minutes, most of the suburbs had been leveled by heavy artillery, bombing runs from  \nthe UWF's Air Force, and heavy command Frigates in the area.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"SIR! We can't hold for much longer! They are shredding us to pieces!\" yelled a soldier, \"we got to  \nget out of here!\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Hold you post soldier!\" I yelled.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"But, Sir! We can't, they are going to over run us!\" yelled a different soldier.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"I said, we will hold this position and that is an order! Keep firing! Fix bayonets if you are running  \nlow on ammo!\" I yelled to the soldiers under my command.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Desert do you hear me?!\" Black yelled over the intercom, \"how are you holding out?!\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Sir they are throwing everything they have at us but we are holding!\" I answered.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"They are starting to move their armor up so I don't know how much longer we will be able to  \nhold this position\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Just hold for a few more minutes, the Air Force just called in and they say they are en-root to  \nthe bridge, but they will take twenty more minutes,\" Black said, \"I want you to fall back in five.\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Yes Sir,\" I said  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Keep firing! Give them a taste of Amber led!\" I yelled.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Yes! Make those fuckers pay!\" a soldier yelled.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Heavy tank spotted! To the left!\" a machine gunner yelled.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"2nd Lieutenant Sterling, your squad is the only one left that can combat heavy armor,\" I said, \"get  \nyour men to the left flank and stop that heavy tank from breaking through our defenses.\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"YES SIR!\" said the Border collie.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \nKen Sterling, a good soldier. He's about 40% White, 60% Black, has green eyes. There are three  \nsmall black spots on his white muzzle; his body is mostly black except for his chest, arms, and  \nhis hands.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Okay men, get moving!\" Ken yelled to his men.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Sir, we are in position, waiting for your orders!\" said private Devasco.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"On my mark men,\" said Ken, \"aannnddd ... FIRE!\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \nFour Devlin missiles were fired at the heavy tank blowing the treads off and damaging the  \ncannon.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"HELLYA!!!\" yelled the soldiers when they saw the tank burst into flames seconds later.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Ken, what is the status on that heavy tank?\" I ask over the mic.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"The heavy armor has been dealt with, you don't have to worry about it anymore,\" Ken said happily.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Good, now fall back to the bridge, the air force is en-root and they are going to blow the bridge  \nin fifteen.\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Yes sir,\" said Ken, \"okay men, start to fall back.\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \nThe battle raged for fifteen more minutes at the bridgehead, the UWF throwing everything they  \nhave into the attack to try and get their heavy armor across but, ultimately, they failed. The enemies  \ncaptured the western bridge head but were halted midway on the bridge.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"To all friendly units near the bridge, this is General Levisen... the bombers are lining up for the  \nbombing run, all friendly units get the hell out of there before they get there, or you are going to  \nbe blown to Kingdom come!\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"You heard the general, all units get out of the impact zone,\" Black yelled.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"This is SixPack Bomber Squadron, we are dropping our payload,\" the bomber pilot said.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \nThe bridge was hit with twenty high yield gravity bombs that decimated the bridge and all the  \nenemies on it.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Hell... that is going to take a wile to rebuild,\" I said.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Hehehehe... yeah, it will... but that won't stop then,\" Black said solemnly, \"that will only slow  \nthem down for a wile.\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"I honestly can't believe they invaded Amber,\" I said to Black, \"I knew the war would come here  \nsooner or later but I just can't believe it actually happened.\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \nBlack stayed quite for a few seconds before answering.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"I can't believe the scale of the attack,\" Black said while looking at the smoke rising from Enderon  \nCity, \"they leveled most of the city in the assault.\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"...Yeah,\" I said quietly.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Lieutenant Colonel Black, this is General Levisen do you read me over?\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;Levisen was ready to give orders to me and Black over the intercoms, thus halting our conversation.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Yes, I read you loud and clear sir,\" Black said.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Lieutenant Colonel you are to fall back to the Raglon River Valley, Colonel Constantine's units are  \nthere. When you link up, form a defensive line there, the UWF are going to try and capture that region  \nand if they do, we will lose the entire western region.\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Yessir, we will move to the Raglon Valley immediately,\" Black said.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Desert, tell the men we are moving out.\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Yes Sir,\" I said, turning to the troops.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;\"OKAY MEN... LET'S MOVE OUT!\" I yelled, \"WE'RE MOVING TO RAGLON VALLEY!\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n~~~~~  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n===============================================================  \nDuring the retreat we found out that Endron City wasn't the only city invaded... five other cities  \nwere attacked... and their was two more attacks the following day... this war just got a hole lot  \nworse.  \n===============================================================  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n: Planet â€\" Amber  \n: Location â€\" Rolen Pass â€\" (twenty miles from the Raglon River Valley.)  \nOctober 20, 2557  \n11 days after invasion... 2300 hours  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Damn it's cold.\" I said wile I looked, from the hills, at the snow falling on the quaint little town below  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Sir, at least you have fur...\" a human said to me before walking away.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Desert!\" Ken shouted from behind me, \"our defenses are ready sir,\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Good\" I said  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Do you think we'll be able to holdout?\" Ken asked me.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"I am not sure \\*sigh\\*... we are outnumbered, we are out gunned, and the enemy will funnel their  \nforce-...\" I started to say before Black interrupted via the intercom in my helmet.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Desert,\" Black called over the intercom, \"are the defenses set up?\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Yes they are sir,\" I answer, \"but we are severely undermanned.\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Okay Desert, I will send my forces to the Rolen Pass to give you the numbers you need,\" Black said,  \nand then the com went silent.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Well it looks like it's going to be a wile before the UWF gets here,\" Ken said to me.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Get some sleep Ken, its been what, five days since you gotten any rest?\" I said while I was turning  \nto the black and white Border Collie.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Yea, its been about five to six days,\" Ken answered.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Then get some shut-eye, you will need the rest,\" I said.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Yes sir,\" Ken said while he saluted me,\"see you in the morning, Desert.\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \nWhile Ken walked away, I turn back and started to look down on the town were stationed in and  \nordered to defend once more. We were up in the hills overlooking the town, thinking of what would  \nhappen if we lose this pass. The town is situated in the Rolan Pass, about twenty or so miles away  \nfrom the Raglon River Valley, it's in a strategic location. It's a vital location for our ground logistic  \nunits, and if they capture this pass they will conquer the rest of the western region in a few days. All  \nI know is... if we lose this town... we are fucked.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n~~~~~  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n0600 hours - October 21  \n: Location â€\" makeshift officers barracks.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"WAKE UP!!!\" Black yelled while he stood next to my bed.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"AHHH!\" I shouted while I fell off the bed.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"HAHAHA!\" Black laughed. \"I am sorry but I couldn't resist,\" he said still laughing.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"GRRRR! That was NOT funny!\" I yelled at the black wolf that was now holding his hand out to  \nhelp me up.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Yes it was.\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"What the hell are you doing in my room,\" I asked angrily, \"it is 6:00 in the damn morning and I  \nam fucking exhausted! I fell asleep at about firkin 4:56 A.M.!\" I said to the still smiling wolf.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"You do know I am your superior... right?\" Black asked me wile helping me up.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Do you really think that rank means anything to me? I've never given a crap about rank before and  \nI won't give a crap now,\" I said with a smirk on my muzzle  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Hehehe,\" Black chuckled. \"You will never really respect me will you?\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Do you really have to ask me that? Because I am pretty-sure you already know that answer,\" I said  \nto Black.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"You know you are way too serious some times.\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"The biggest invasion I am sure ANYONE will ever see just happened, we lost about 30% of all of  \nour forces on this planet in about five hours AND we lost already about, I don't know, maybe more  \nthan 83% of all UPA colonies in the last ten years!\" I said with a hint of sarcasm in my voice while  \nI was putting my shirt on, \"so if I want to be serous, I think I have the right.\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \nWhen I turned around, after putting on my shirt, I noticed that Black was just staring.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"uhhh ...Black,\" I said, \"are you okay?\"  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"Wha- oh! Yea I am fine! Sorry!\" Black said fast.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \nI noticed when I caught Black staring, he had a \"oh shit\" look on this face  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \n\"......ooookay...... if you say so,\" I said  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \nAfter a few more moments of awkward silence I told Black that I needed to go to the command center  \nat the town hall and he said he'll be there in a few minutes.  \nÂ\u0026nbsp;  \nOk this is the END of this chapter...  \nSpecial thanks to The Copilot for helping me edit my story...
