# Tales of Zootopia: Billy and Billie Author: Albus Kane Tags: Anthro, Anthropomorphic, Bear, Bisexual, Boy, Character Development, Commentary, Compassion, F/M, Female, Girl, Heterosexual, Male, Mammal, Series, Short, Soulmates, Story Series, Straight, Young #14 of Tales of Zootopia This story just popped into my head when I remembered a random line from Adventure Time: "[something about falling in love and spending their lives together until they get fat and die like that's inevitable somehow, from the Ice King talking about Fiona]" There were once two people in Zootopia by the names of Billie Waters and Billy Walters, both Black Bears, female and male, respectively.  They were both incredibly unattractive, but they were both passionate romantics.  They fell in love with each other as soon as age eight, and saw each other as incredibly hot as a result.  They both felt like they, with their unattractive forms, weren't good enough for each other.  They were both bisexual and genderfluid.  They both went to extremes for the bodies that they thought each other might want.  They both went on incredibly strict diets, and obsessively used cosmetics, even having various cosmetic surgeries.  When they were 24, sharing a birthday, they finally admitted their feelings for each other, confident in their bodies. After that, they felt perfectly comfortable letting themselves get fat and ugly again.  They inevitably did, to the point of being unhealthy, but they didn't mind, because they weren't into each other for their bodies; they were into each other for their personalities, what true love is really about.  They both experienced severe body-shaming that would drive most people to suicide, but as long as they had each other, they were happy as can be.  They were eventually found dead in the same bed in their 50s, having died of heart attacks.  What's worth noting about that is that they were found embracing each other, smiling even after having passed away.  In a society where committed relationships start and stop based on hot bodies and hot sex alone, I felt like their story was special enough that it had to be told.
