Laurence!\" Temeraire nosed excitedly on the poor soul resting on his elbow.\u0026nbsp;\"Laurence wake up, a boat is coming!\"\n\nIt had been quite a while since the close pair had finished their pavilion in Australia. Thier summer home was quite nice to visit from time to time. If it wasn't such a bore. Their was no native dragons here, and thus no action; yet Laurence was happy so he too was happy.\n\n\"What do you mean a boat?\" Laurence groaned. It was very late Temeraire was sure, and their stay in the harbor on occasion always allowed the view of boats so this was an odd statement.\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"Why a dragon ship with four\u0026nbsp;or five\u0026nbsp;dragons it seems, is on its way to the port.\" Temeraire explained.\n\n\"Could it possibly be Maximus and Lily?\" Temeraire questioned.\n\nTemeraire held out a claw so Laurence may climb on to his back.\u0026nbsp;Once he was situated Temeraire lept from the ground, and arrowed from the tall hill they were staying at to the harbor.\u0026nbsp;\n\nCarful not to allow the air of hostility, Temeraire alighted on the far side of the massive ship, his black scales rippling as the mussels underneath\u0026nbsp; tensed when he landed. The boat rocked slightly upon his landing.\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"Why Temeraire is that you? Well now that I have found you, it's time you give me\u0026nbsp;another egg\" A feminine\u0026nbsp;voice demanded without tact. If it were not rude he would have left immediately. Iskierka\u0026nbsp;as well as Maximus, Lily, and Grig were all on the deck with their heads raised at his arrival.\n\n\\*\\*\\*\n\n\"This is where you go in the summer?\"\u0026nbsp;Grig asked as he nosed around Temeraire's pavilion. He watched The Russian dragon carefully. The great chunks of opal set into the walls, were not only beautiful but expensive. \"It is much too hot for me here, but maybe for a short stay like this one I may enjoy myself\"\n\nMaximus snorted \"And much too classy for you as well.\"\u0026nbsp;\n\nGrig glared but continued, \"The valley you stay in has\u0026nbsp;so many cattle. Are they all yours?\"\n\nWith some pride\u0026nbsp;in his voice, Temeraire explained how they came into ownership of the beautiful valley, much nicer the the shameless covert near the port. Lily, who was occupied with a cangaroo stopped and listened with great interest to his story, as did the rest of the dragons.\n\n\"If Granby had allowed it, I would have a much nicer place to live, because he is an admiral.\"\u0026nbsp; Iskerika chimed in. \"And all this talk of yourself is quite popular and all, but when are we to talk of a better topic.\" She sidled her coils over his tail, hinting at what she wanted to do.\n\n\"Well Laurence was higher than an admiral, and we defeated Napoleon; then\u0026nbsp;he retired. So their.\" Temeraire scoffed. The other dragons bobbed their heads in agreement. Not only was this true, but three years ago Temeraire was given a seat at parliament; a much more important place than Iskierka's. The captains at present were all being situated in the two story house Laurence had built not too far from where Temeraire slept; even though he had a room attached to the pavilion. They had all greeted\u0026nbsp;Temeraire well before getting to his valley. Berkeley had lost a good amount of weight, and to Maximus's delight, taken up reading as well. Grig had not a captain, and neither did Lily due to the growing\u0026nbsp;baby.\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"Lily,\" Iskierka\u0026nbsp;said, \"would you go with me to go hunting?\"\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"It\u0026nbsp;is much too easy to catch cattle\" Iskerika continued.\n\n\"Sure?\" Lily said uncertainty, her muzzle still bloody from the cangaroo.\n\n\\*\\*\\*\n\nOnce they were a good deals away Iskierka\u0026nbsp;explained to Lily her predicament. For\u0026nbsp;the past three years, Temeraire had ignored all advances she had made, and right now she was in heat. She could not admit her want of\u0026nbsp;him due to pride. His refusal of her\u0026nbsp;had lead her to believe she was a poor mate the first time, and incapable of attempting with another male. Lily although not a close friend was also a female, and had known Temeraire a while as well, thus the questioning as to how Iskerika could win a night with Temeraire. The two dragoness plotted throughout the afternoon, and set their trap for two nights in advance.\n\n\\*\\*\\*\u0026nbsp;\n\nApparently Maximus and Lily both had forgotten to bring Temeraire hi\u0026nbsp;present, and had headed back to the ship to fetch it. Grig had dicided\u0026nbsp;to go as well. Laurence and the captains were meant to meet with the captain of the large dragon boat that night for dinner. It seemed almost planned Temeraire thought, that they left him all alone with Iskerika. How terrible he thought. She was a very pretty dragoness. Kaziliks were known to breath fire, and were easily identified by their red scales and the steam\u0026nbsp;that issued from their spikes. While she was powerful, she was also quite vain, which typical turned him off of her. This will be a long night he thought to himself.\n\n  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Temeraire","next":"https://sofurry.com/s/ZmMOj8D1"}}
