 **Chapter 4: Breakfast&nbsp; and&nbsp; troubles&nbsp;**

My&nbsp; alarm went&nbsp; off at&nbsp; 8 with that&nbsp; damn&nbsp; annoying&nbsp; farm sound of the rooster, I&nbsp; really&nbsp; did&nbsp; need to change the sound, but&nbsp; too&nbsp; lazy&nbsp; to do it. I&nbsp; sleepily reach&nbsp; over&nbsp; Alex and&nbsp; turned off the&nbsp; alarm, as I&nbsp; pulled my arm back over&nbsp; Alex, I thought better of it and&nbsp; starting&nbsp; running a hand&nbsp; through his hair. He moved a little&nbsp; under my&nbsp; touch, feeling his hand&nbsp; grabbing &nbsp; mine, as he&nbsp; said&nbsp; something into the&nbsp; pillow.

"Roe, I'm&nbsp; sorry." he&nbsp; said&nbsp; kind of&nbsp; muffled , "For what ?" I asked him, now&nbsp; in a&nbsp; sitting position&nbsp; as&nbsp; I&nbsp; looked&nbsp; wards&nbsp; him.

"Because&nbsp; I asked&nbsp; you&nbsp; out, and&nbsp; I&nbsp; know&nbsp; you&nbsp; don't&nbsp; wanna&nbsp; go&nbsp; out with me,&nbsp; what&nbsp; we&nbsp; did&nbsp; was&nbsp; just a&nbsp; one night&nbsp; thing and&nbsp; and&nbsp; I'm&nbsp; fine with that." I heed a sigh and gathered my&nbsp; thoughts, "Why are&nbsp; you&nbsp; always&nbsp; acting&nbsp; like a hurt&nbsp; puppy, huh Alex?"&nbsp;

I&nbsp; picked it&nbsp; up&nbsp; and&nbsp; flicked&nbsp; to the&nbsp; answer&nbsp; button&nbsp; and&nbsp; doubled&nbsp; tapped&nbsp; and &nbsp; spoke into the&nbsp; phone.&nbsp;

"Go&nbsp; for&nbsp; Roe," I&nbsp; said&nbsp; into the&nbsp; phone.&nbsp; I heard &nbsp; annoyed Jessie's&nbsp; voice on&nbsp; the&nbsp; other&nbsp; end,&nbsp;

"Roen Michael&nbsp; Oliver, you&nbsp; didn't&nbsp; answer&nbsp; my text&nbsp; last&nbsp; night,"&nbsp; She&nbsp; was&nbsp; about&nbsp; screaming&nbsp; into&nbsp; the&nbsp; phone as&nbsp; I listened , though&nbsp; holding&nbsp; the&nbsp; phone&nbsp; away&nbsp; from my&nbsp; ear a bit.

Then&nbsp; back to Jessie, "Well&nbsp; you&nbsp; have to&nbsp; give&nbsp; me&nbsp; more details&nbsp; later&nbsp; Roe." She&nbsp; said&nbsp; to me,&nbsp; me&nbsp; knowing &nbsp; she&nbsp; would&nbsp; shake&nbsp; it out of me&nbsp; if I didn't.

With&nbsp; that &nbsp; done, I&nbsp; turned&nbsp; to&nbsp; Alex,&nbsp;

The&nbsp; place&nbsp; was your&nbsp; local&nbsp; hangout for&nbsp; the &nbsp; locals&nbsp; of a town - It was&nbsp; a&nbsp; diner&nbsp; that's&nbsp; been&nbsp; around&nbsp; since&nbsp; when my&nbsp; grandparents ' were kids- its been the&nbsp; same family&nbsp; for&nbsp; years &nbsp; this&nbsp; generation's&nbsp; owners&nbsp; were a&nbsp; gay&nbsp; couple&nbsp; by the&nbsp; name&nbsp; of&nbsp; Kouji&nbsp; and&nbsp; Shuichi Ginsenshi . Connor&nbsp; popped&nbsp; up&nbsp; from&nbsp; under the&nbsp; table, wondering&nbsp; what&nbsp; movement&nbsp; was&nbsp; going on.&nbsp; I&nbsp; petted his ears,&nbsp;

"we're&nbsp; going now , up&nbsp; and&nbsp; out,"&nbsp; I&nbsp; said&nbsp; to&nbsp; Connor&nbsp; to&nbsp; get&nbsp; him&nbsp; to&nbsp; get out from&nbsp; under the&nbsp; table, with&nbsp; that &nbsp; Connor&nbsp; worked&nbsp; his&nbsp; way&nbsp; out&nbsp; from&nbsp; under the&nbsp; table. The&nbsp; three&nbsp; of&nbsp; us&nbsp; stood, gathering&nbsp; our&nbsp; stuff and&nbsp; headed out, with a&nbsp; shout&nbsp; over&nbsp; my&nbsp; shoulder at&nbsp; Kouji.&nbsp;

"Just&nbsp; give me a&nbsp; call&nbsp; Kouj, if&nbsp; you&nbsp; need&nbsp; help this&nbsp; week."&nbsp; I said as&nbsp; we&nbsp; walked out&nbsp; of the&nbsp; diner.&nbsp; Since&nbsp; every&nbsp; so often&nbsp; I&nbsp; worked&nbsp; at the&nbsp; diner&nbsp; for&nbsp; extra&nbsp; spending&nbsp; money.

&nbsp;We&nbsp; made our&nbsp; way&nbsp; outside&nbsp; of the &nbsp; diner, and&nbsp; stood&nbsp; there not&nbsp; really&nbsp; sure&nbsp; what&nbsp; to do.

"So&nbsp; any&nbsp; thoughts&nbsp; on what to&nbsp; do?" I&nbsp; asked&nbsp; Alex, hoping&nbsp; he'd &nbsp; have&nbsp; some&nbsp; fun&nbsp; ideas, like&nbsp; us&nbsp; maybe a&nbsp; dark&nbsp; movie&nbsp; theater&nbsp; and&nbsp; us&nbsp; making out&nbsp; in the&nbsp; back.

"Let's&nbsp; just&nbsp; walk for&nbsp; a&nbsp; while."&nbsp; came&nbsp; Alex's reply, as&nbsp; I&nbsp; felt&nbsp; him&nbsp; take&nbsp; my&nbsp; hand&nbsp; on my&nbsp; right as we&nbsp; started&nbsp; walking with&nbsp; Connor&nbsp; leading&nbsp; the&nbsp; way on my&nbsp; left side.
