# Crew Mate Introductions

#2 of Felidae Story World

After volunteering to join a crew, Aelan meets a few of those he is to serve with.

Tail curling around his ankle, Aelan &nbsp;secured &nbsp;his bag over his shoulder and &nbsp;checked his orders that he was going to the &nbsp;correct assigned quarters before he knocked and opened the door. &nbsp;He was assaulted with &nbsp;a pungent musk that had to be skunk. &nbsp;He &nbsp;coughed, and &nbsp;frowned a little as he looked around the room.

From the door, to his &nbsp;right there was a control console and desk. &nbsp;Straight ahead from that was a &nbsp;bunk &nbsp;bed in &nbsp;one corner, and a &nbsp;solo bed in the other, but not blocking the shared closet at the back wall.

Samuel looked up &nbsp;from the console and took off his glasses. "Wrong room, pal, the bathrroo was a &nbsp;left at the bulkhead &nbsp;not a right."

From the top bunk across the room, a pillow flew &nbsp;and hit the porcupine/hedgehog hybrid in the head. It stuck onto his spines. &nbsp;&nbsp;"Well, I hope you didn't want that pillow back. It's gonna be &nbsp;confetti by the time I get it loose" Samuel lamented.

"Like I care. &nbsp;It's \*your\* pillow"

Samuel &nbsp;froze and then growled at the mustelid. The mustelid in question &nbsp;hopped down &nbsp;from the top bunk, &nbsp;resting dark eyes at the &nbsp;feline/canine hybrid watching &nbsp;by the door. &nbsp;"You're not lost, let me see your orders" he said as he walked toward him.

"Aelan Blackpaws?"

"That's right, and &nbsp;you are?"

"Isaac Hamilton" &nbsp;he said and licked his muzzle pensively. &nbsp;"Blackpaws is a name of the Old Religion. &nbsp;You must have come from an old family"

"Which one is my bed?" Aelan asked, evasively.

"Oh, right, sorry, &nbsp;that one over there. The single. We have the bunk beds" Isaac said as he handed the other man his orders back. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

"Okay." &nbsp;&nbsp;he said as he made his way over to the bed and sat down. &nbsp;&nbsp;Looking at the other male, wrestling with the pillow, &nbsp;he asked, "Who are you?"

"I'm Samuel. Samuel Hardgrove"

"Did you &nbsp;two volunteer too?"

"Yes. &nbsp;&nbsp;I volunteered." Isaac said. &nbsp;"Sam over there, was born to a military family."

Aelan nodded &nbsp;&nbsp;and &nbsp;wrinkled his nose again with a cough. &nbsp;&nbsp;Isaac lowered his head. &nbsp;"Sorry for the smell, it should pass in a few days"

Suddenly there was a knock on the door. &nbsp;&nbsp;"Trainees, lights out in &nbsp;20 minutes."

The three looked at each other.

"We have curfew?" Aelan asked.

"Oh yeah, &nbsp;all sorts of rules and &nbsp;regulations. &nbsp;But don't worry. &nbsp;&nbsp;There's always a loophole. Just stick with us, kitty boy, &nbsp;&nbsp;we'll make sure you have fun, &nbsp;joining a crew doesn't have to be a death sentence"

Aelan smiled a little, and started to unpack a pair of pajamas, &nbsp;&nbsp;and &nbsp;get ready for bed, &nbsp;as the others did the same. &nbsp;
