Everything I liked (literature, poetry, theatre, music, clubs, hot men, fanfiction, etc.) rested firmly within the domain of “city\" and therefore “me,\" whereas everything I didn't like about the world was somewhere else and someone else's problem. Sexism was clearly a non-Canadian thing, as was racism, homophobia, and every other form of hate.\u0026nbsp;\n\nNow, after quite a few years of getting over myself, two serious trips to the hospital, one long barefoot walk home across a bridge, and volunteering at a women's centre for a year, I can safely say my worldview has changed.\n\n* * *\n\n### Bitches, Right?\n\nBitches, right?\n\nIt's just bark bark bark bark bark.\n\nI let them stay in my house,\n\neat my food, drink my water,\n\nspend my money, and I keep 'em company,\n\nbut all they do is sit around the house all day\u0026nbsp;\n\nand bitch and whine.\n\nBitches, right?\n\nIt's just beg beg beg beg beg.\n\nAnd yeah, so what if I had mine spayed?\n\nShe can't just go around\u0026nbsp;\n\nscrewing every sly old dog she sees.\n\nDo I look like I'm made of money?\n\nThose pups cost a fortune\n\nand if she has 'em, it better be when I said so\n\nor else she's in for it.\n\nDon't you see I'm protecting that bitch?\n\nShe wouldn't know how to do a thing without me.\n\nThat's just biology.\n\nBitches, right?\n\nIt's just whine whine whine whine whine.\n\nI keep her on a leash when I go out,\n\n'Cause sometimes she forgets who's in charge.\n\nWhen I go out alone — you know, sometimes\n\nyou just gotta get away from all the bitches —\n\nI keep her on her leash tied up in the house.\n\nI can't just have her leaving whenever, can I?\u0026nbsp;\n\nShe'd get in trouble, or someone'd see her alone\n\nand not know that she belonged to me.\n\nThis way she won't jump on the damn mailman\n\nwhen he comes around.\n\nBitches, right?\n\nIt's just bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch.\n\nI figured out that if you give 'em a kick,\u0026nbsp;\n\nthey shut up for a while, yeah,\n\nthey settle back down and remember their place.\n\nBut, if you kick 'em too much,\n\ntoo often, too hard, they go right for the throat\u0026nbsp;\n\nand then it's all just a big mess.\n\n* * *\n\nFor everything serious, there must be something flippant or naughty to counterbalance it. So, here, we have a provocative Pantoum for your perusal— and for those who enjoy rhyme, an alternate schema. Here, we have a fox with a clandestine craving for cock.\n\n* * *\n\n### The Contact Contract\n\n_(True Pantoum)_\n\nA fatal fixation, a finicky flame,\n\nCravenly, chronically craving for cock,\n\nCallow and candid and cursing he came,\u0026nbsp;\n\nTod teetered and tottered while timing each tock,\n\nCravenly, chronically craving for cock,\n\nBashfully biding, distracted by dick,\n\nTod teetered and tottered while timing each tock,\n\nNot daring to dally, he tallies each tick,\n\nBashfully biding, distracted by dick,\n\nThriving he thrums with the thrill of the thrust,\n\nNot daring to dally, he tallies each tick,\n\nTongue luridly lolling, lost in the lust,\n\nThriving he thrums with the thrill of the thrust,\n\nA fatal fixation, a finicky flame,\n\nTongue luridly lolling, lost in the lust,\n\nCallow and candid and cursing he came.\n\n* * *\n\n_(Euphonious Pantoum)_\n\nA fatal fixation, a finicky flame,\n\nCallow and candid and cursing he came,\n\nCravenly, chronically craving for cock,\u0026nbsp;\n\nTod teetered and tottered while timing each tock,\n\nBashfully biding, distracted by dick,\n\nNot daring to dally, he tallies each tick,\n\nCravenly, chronically craving for cock,\n\nTod teetered and tottered while timing each tock,\n\nThriving he thrums with the thrill of the thrust,\n\nTongue luridly lolling, lost in the lust,\n\nBashfully biding, distracted by dick,\n\nNot daring to dally, he tallies each tick,\n\nThriving he thrums with the thrill of the thrust,\n\nTongue luridly lolling, lost in the lust,\n\nA fatal fixation, a finicky flame,\n\nCallow and candid and cursing he came.\n\n* * *\n\n- Charles Michael Averin","series":{"name":"Old/Archive","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/1104905-the-word-in-ink-the-happy-ending.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/1106061-passion-the-knot.json"}}
