Thankfully, though, we haven't reached that point quite yet.\n\nInternal rhyming is a tool which I enjoy greatly, and which can be found very commonly in rap, as its inclusion can direct the reader's rhythm and flow. In a poem that has meter, it can be used to improve the euphony of each verse when other devices prove too difficult to employ. In a sonnet, for example, I generally have difficulty using alliteration because of the iambic pentameter, so I've learned to start including internal rhymes to improve how each verse reads.\n\n* * *\n\n### Art Exhibition\n\nAn aardwolf of artistic mind /\n\nAsked candid if I could be kind /\n\nTo help his display /\n\nAnd said he could pay /\n\nHe stripped as me soon as I signed /\n\nThe piece was entitled \"restraint\" /\n\nWith balls bouncing off of my taint /\n\nA cat on his knees /\n\nGave my cock a tease /\n\nWith the promise his face I would paint /\n\nThrough rapture I had to resist /\n\nStock still as my insides did twist /\n\nThen the canine popped in /\n\nAnd the crowd did begin /\n\nTo applaud as I came—but I missed.\n\n* * *\n\nAardwolves are not canines, and for that, I apologize. They are, however, very smol, so it's hard to take them seriously when they're cross with you.\u0026nbsp;\n\nBelow is a sonnet on homelessness/gentrification, so please peruse at your discretion.\n\n* * *\n\nThis is a warning /\n\nPlease don't read below this point /\n\nIf it's not your speed.\n\n* * *\n\n### Gentrification\n\nAlong the strip of stores we make our home,\n\nThey shield us from the looming skies of grey;\n\nBut by the state outdoors we're made to roam,\n\nFor tourists fear the glooming, dying stray.\n\nThey like to say we lack the will to work,\n\nOur laziness the source of all our woes;\n\nAnd yet my damaged back I cannot shirk,\n\nNor can I bear the coarseness of my clothes.\n\nSo why, you ask, are we so destitute?\n\nWhen all is lost, there is no room to climb;\n\nAnd she was born as cree, then prostitute,\n\nBut disappeared, they say there is no crime.\n\nWhile some may laugh, for us it is obscene;\n\nwe can't escape, as we do move unseen.\n\n* * *\n\n-Charles Michael Averin","series":{"name":"Old/Archive","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/1125436-vanity-large.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/1127976-yearning-matrimoney.json"}}
