Actually, it was like every other year but it felt very different.\n\nThe sky darkened as if a storm would rise. In hindsight, I wish there had been a thunderstorm.\n\nHowever, it was an unknown spaceship which appeared in the skies.\n\nThey came down on us like a plague of locusts. First it was just a single ship, then an entire armada.\n\nThey called themselves Kukamia. A reptile-like humanoid race which constantly sought for perfection through mutation and genetic experiments.\n\nTheir greed and their hunger was surpassed only by their infinite claim to power.\n\nThey were not unknown to us. A year earlier they raided some of our outposts on other planets.\n\nThey left no survivors. Only the monitoring systems could tell us what had happened.\n\nBut I had never expected they would attack our home planet, Adora.\n\nTheir technology was decades, if not, centuries behind ours but it was almost impossible to defend our cities for a long time against them.\n\nWhile we initially only had small losses and reconquered almost any city, the time came when the Kukamia fought back with a mighty army.\n\nFor each Kukamia which had been killed by us another hundred were waiting to take its place.\n\nFirst the battles lasted only a few days but the days turned into weeks, weeks into months and months into years until finally the Supreme Council decided to abandon the planet, our home.\n\n\"We can't win\", they argued.\n\nSo we gathered supplies and reconstructed our fleet so that the civil population could live on the ships for several years.\n\nIt was a black day for each Lupain when the evacuation was completed but it should get even worse.\n\nWe had to watch, powerless, as a decision was carried out which none of us would ever have agreed to.\n\nSince the entire Kukamia armada and all known Kukamia were on Adora the Supreme Council came to the conclusion that Adora should be finally liberated from the Kukamia.\n\nAll Lupains remaining on the planet were already as good as dead and if the Kukamia couldn't find any more animals on Adora, the remaining Lupains would be the only thing left to eat\n\nTo spare them this cruel fate the Supreme Council decided to wipe out all remaining life with some kind of weapon on the planet. Recolonising the planet wouldn't be a problem with the collected plant seeds in the long run.\n\nTherefore, we had to watch as a huge energy beam extinguished all life on Adora.\n\nThe energy was so powerful that it not only destroyed the planets' surface as planned but even penetrated the core. The planet was thus completely destroyed.\n\nWe sacrificed our families to defeat the Kukamia. In the end we hadn't gained anything from our victory.\n\nHomeless and in vain we searched for a new planet in our direct vicinity but we found no planet which was habitable for us.\n\nThe supreme Council of our society decided that our fleet should be split up in the universe until we find a planet that would be suitable.\n\nOn the way to a new world our communication system was heavily damaged by an asteroid.\n\nWe had no way to repair the damage quickly as a repair would have cost us months of our time.\n\nDuring the speech of our Council about the delay and food rationing one of our probes reported its status.\n\nWe could see images of a nearby planet. It was ten times larger than Adora and consisted of approximately seventy percent water.\n\nWe quickly realized that this planet couldn't be uninhabited since several satellites were orbiting it.\n\nAt first, our Council said that we should ignore this planet.\n\nWe were too proud and honorable. We shouldn't plead to an alien species to help us.\n\nBut our food was sabotaged. Some sort of mold spread through the ship and half of our stock was affected.\n\nBecause of the lack of food and water diseases spread.\n\nWe contacted the alien species that referred to itself as human.\n\nAs our Council landed on the planet in a big city, humans greeted us like heroes.\n\nEverywhere these humans were on the streets and solemnized us.\n\nWith their cameras and smartphones they took pictures of us. We could see welcome signs \"Aliens welcome\" with many hearts on them.\n\nWe were overjoyed to meet such a friendly and helpful species.\n\n13.01.2040\n\nTwo years have now passed since we landed on Earth.\n\nSince three months there is a program which thirty voluntary Lupains in the US took part in.\n\nThey should learn as much information about the human history and culture as possible at universities.\n\nAlso this program should enable our two species to learn from each other.\n\n28.01.2041\n\nThe United States demanded we share our technologies with them.\n\nBut the participants of the program warned us that humanity had already led many wars.\n\nWe couldn't refer to the humans as a peaceful species anymore. We refused.\n\n29.03.2041\n\nWe refused to share our technologies.\n\nThe United States request that we disappear.\n\nBut we can't go along with their claims.\n\nWe are still working on repairing our communication system.\n\nIn addition, we are waiting for a signal from the rest of the fleet to move to a new uninhabited planet.\n\n11.05.2041\n\nThe US fears an invasion, thus the United States Air Force attacked our ship.\n\nAlthough our hunters could destroy the Air Force, the price was high.\n\nOver one hundred Lupains died in this attack. Our ship was severely damaged.\n\nThe communication system had been completely destroyed.\n\n12.05.2041\n\nOur entire soldiers and hunters lead a counter strike.\n\nAfter the attack, many volunteers reported for military service.\n\n14.09.2041\n\nAfter heavy skirmishes we could conquer the city of Washington and the entire airspace.\n\n20.09.2041\n\nThe Air Force retaliated and destroyed Washington.\n\nHundreds of soldiers and thousands of civilians died in the attack.\n\nIn the human media we are blamed for the attack.\n\nExcept for the White House, the entire city is in ruins.\n\nThe US Army sends thousands of ground forces.\n\n30.09.2041\n\nWe sent all our heavily armored units to Washington and reclaimed the city.\n\nWe discovered mass graves as we looked around for the President and the Vice President.\n\nHundreds of Lupains and civilians were shot there.\n\n03.10.2041\n\nWe stormed the White House and searched for the President of the United States.\n\nThe surviving civilians helped us in the search.\n\nWe finally found a bunker where he is supposed to stay.\n\nThen we opened the bunker under the White House but found no one in there.\n\nWe got the tip that the president and vice president are trying to escape unnoticed as civilians.\n\n12.10.2041\n\nWe successfully arrested the President, the vice president and some high-ranking military officials of the United States.\n\nThe US Army has ceased all hostilities.\n\n20.10.2041\n\nAll Lupains which participated in the program have disappeared without a trace.\n\n30.04.2042\n\nAll Lupains that participated in the program were declared dead by a council member.\n\nAlthough there were no bodies, the search has been stopped completely.\u0026nbsp;\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Heavens Fall Remastered","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/1188764-wip-2047-a-d-heavens-fall-en-001-remastered.json"}}
