# The Eevee Chronicles part 4

Sorry for the delay. My computer's been acting up and I'm thinking of getting a new one. The only way i could get on here and read is on my ipod. Luckily, school started again so I can use their computers to submit my work.

 

Chapter 4-The Capture  
 

Eevee woke up with his eyes half-open. It was night. From what he could see, he was in a cage in the middle of a forest and there was a fire burning not to far away with unfamiliar people sleeping around it. Still half-awake, he tried to make out who they were. They were male, had green hair with bowl haircuts and...spacesuits? Then it hit him, he's been captured. Memories of the day's events suddenly came rushing back to him.  
 

Flashback:  
 

Eric had just finished telling Eevee that he was going to capture more pokémon. It was then Eevee felt that they were being followed. He turned around and saw a Golbat flying behind them, which was strange because Golbat weren't usually active in the day. Even if they were, they were usually found in dark forests and caves were there wouldn't be that much light, but this one was flying around in an open field. As he turned back around to tell Eric, there was a large explosion in front of them, kicking up a large amount  
of dirt in the air. The blast blew Eevee of Eric's shoulder tumbling a few feet behind him. 

 

"Eevee? Eevee, where are you?!" Eric shouted in the dirt cloud. The dirt cloud was so thick, they couldn't see anything. Eevee got up and started to run in the direction of his voice. As soon as he did, something hit him, knocking him back further away from Eric. Panicked now, he scrambled to get on his feet, but was once again knocked back down. 

 

"Eevee, where are you?!" Eric shouted again. Not wanting to get hit again, he stayed down and crawled to where he heard Eric's voice. While he was crawling, he had a feeling that something was following him again. Just then, a pair of fangs appeared in front of him. He looked up and saw that it was the same Golbat that  
was flying behind them. 

 

"Playtime's over fox boy." said the Golbat in Spanish. (Since it's been a while since I've spoken Spanish, I'll keep it in English for now.) Before Eevee had time to register what he said, the golbats' eyes glowed a bright red. Eevee suddenly felt extremely sleepy. 

 

'Dammit, he's using Hypnosis' Eevee thought. He would have gone to sleep right there if it hadn't been for the fact that he was desperately looking for Eric. The golbat flew above Eevee and picked him up by his furry collar and flew him out of the dust cloud.  
 

Eevee, barley conscious, realized that he was out of the dirt cloud and...flying? He looked around and saw  
that the Golbat was carrying him. He struggled to get free but found that his movements were extremely sluggish because of the Hypnosis.Even his head wouldn't lift up. The golbat suddenly stopped in front of a  
black pickup truck. The passenger door opened and Eevees'  eyes went wide when he saw who came out of the truck and, for some reason, shaking off the effect of Hypnosis. 'Green hair, evil smile, spacesuit. It's the same guy that was trying to grab me at that store.' he thought. 

 

"ERIC, GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE!!!" Eevee shouted. 

 

Eric, upon hearing Eevees' scream for help, ran over to where his voice came from. When he arrived on the scene, Eevee was being put in a cage and loaded in the cab of the truck. 

 

"What the hell do you think you're doing to my Eevee?! Give him back!" Eric shouted in anger at the green haired man. The man turned around to face Eric 

 

"I don't think so. Team Galactic doesn't take orders from brats."  
 

Eric, enraged by the guys' attitude, charged at him to try and rescue Eevee. The green haired man merely smiled and said "Golbat, use Haze." 

 

Golbat took in a deep breath and let out a dark cloud of smoke in front of Eric. Eric stopped running and furiously rubbed his watering eyes. Just then, he heard the truck start up. 

 

"Aargh, you're not getting away with this!!!" Eric yelled running out of the dark cloud just in time to see the truck start driving off. With a sudden burst of energy in his legs, he ran faster and grabbed on the back of the truck before it got enough speed to lose him. Once he pulled himself up enough to get a look inside the cab, he was greeted by a not-so-friendly-looking croagunk. The frog pokémon stood up and brought its right paw out to its side. Then swung it's arm forward and hit Eric in the temple, effectively knocking him out. Eevee watched in horror as his trainer and friend, was sent tumbling onto the side of the road. With feelings of anger and despair taking over his mind, Eevee thrashed around in the small cage, trying to break free. A couple minutes later, one the galactic grunts got tired of hearing Eevee shake the cage behind them and released a Golbat from its ball. 

 

"Golbat, put that Eevee to sleep will ya. It's gonna be a pain to hear that all the way back to hq." With that said, the golbat flew behind the truck in front of Eevees' cage. 

 

"Oy, chico, I suggest you calm down or you're gonna force me to do my job, which I don't feel like doing." said the golbat. 

 

"Go to hell you blood-sucking bastard!" replied Eevee. 

 

"Oy, that was uncalled for. I'm just trying to help make this trip a lot more pleasurable for you. You can watch the scenery while you're trapped in there." 

 

"If you really want to help, then get me out of this damn cage!" Eevee said while hitting the cage again.  
 

 

"Ray, either you shut that kid up or I do." Eevee looked behind the Golbat to see who was talking. It was the croagunk that knocked Eric off the truck.  
 

"Sorry, but I don't think that will be necessary." replied Ray.  
 

"Mind your own business you ugly little toad! Eevee shouted. Croagunk looked at Eevee in shock at first, and then showed a sinister smile. (I tried picturing it too, but work with me.) 

 

"Look, you obviously don't know who I am, so I'll let that little comment slide this time."  
 

"Ooohhhh, I'm getting off easy by an ugly swamp fish. I'm so scared I'm getting goose bumps." This was enough to send croagunk over the edge. 

 

"You're gonna get more than goose bumps when I get done with you." he said walking toward Eevees' cage. Ray, the golbat, tried to intervene by talking the croagunk down so he wouldn't do something he'll regret later, but his words fell on deaf ears.(if croagunk have ears. not sure.) Eevee moved to get ready to fight, but he remembered that he was in a cage that he could barely move in. 

 

'Aww, how did I forget I was in a cage?' he thought to himself. 'Oh yeah, I was bad mouthing a frog.' Once he finished his thought, Eevee looked at the angry croagunk with the glowing white paw. Croagunk lifted his arm and arched it back like he was readying a punch.  
 

"Lights out." said the croagunk. He launched his arm forward toward Eevees' head. As Eevee watched his paw slip through the cage bars, only one thought came to mind. '...aww sh-.'  
 

End Flashback  
 

"Guess that's what I get for running my mouth." Eevee said as he reached up to feel a bump on his head. It was then he noticed that he was in a larger cage than he was in before. Just then, he heard something move behind him. Instinctively, he got up and spun around to face whoever was behind him. Since the only source of light was the campfire, it was sort of hard to see, but he did see a familiar figure walk up to him. 

 

"Y-you're the one in my dreams!" he stuttered. Just then, the figure ran up to him and covered his mouth. Eevee tried to shake it off but it held on. 

 

"Shhhh. you're gonna wake up the others." it said in a whisper. This calmed Eevee down a bit. He looked around and saw what, from the sound of its voice, she was whispering about. In a corner of the cage opposite of them, there was a group of sleeping pokémon. He then noticed how soft her paw was against his mouth and he accidentally started to nuzzle against it. 

 

"I'm flattered that you're dreaming about me, but I think we better introduce ourselves before you start getting any ideas." she said as she removed her paw from his mouth. 

 

"Uh, yeah." Eevee said as he just realized what he was doing. He turned to face her and saw that she was a buizel. "I don't have a name, so I just go by Eevee." 

 

"Luckily for me, my trainer gave me a name. I'm Mia." she said as she extended her paw for him to shake. He accepted the offer and shook her paw. "I guess you must be hungry since you slept through what little dinner those jerks gave us." 

 

"Actually..." \*grumble\* "...I guess I am." Eevee said a little embarrassed by his stomachs outburst. 

 

"I thought you might be. I told myself that this eevee is gonna be hungry when he wakes up. I took half of my food and put it in leaf while they weren't looking." Mia went over to a corner of the cage and picked up a small object. She came back and placed a balled up leaf in front of Eevee.  
 

"It's not much, but hopefully it'll get you through the night." Eevee opened the leaf and took a bite of the pokémon food inside. 

 

"It's...a little dry." he said trying to chew the food. 

 

"Yeah, you'll get used to it." she replied as she sat down next to Eevee. 

 

"Used to it? How long have you been...uh, captured?" Mia tilted her head to the side and thinking. 

 

"Let's see, I think it's been five days." 

 

'Whoa, five days' Eevee thought. "Have you ever tried to escape?" 

 

"A few times, but every time I tried, they would send either Ray or Ralph after me." she replied. 

 

"Ray and Ralph? Who are they? Eevee asked while taking another bite of food. 

 

"They're golbat brothers. You should've met them already." Eevee thought back to when he was in the cage. 

 

"I remember Ray...but who's Ralph?" "He's probably the one who beat you up a little in that dirt cloud." 

 

"Oh, that guy. Does he speak a different language? I didn't understand a word that guy said to me." Mia smiled. 

 

"Yeah, he does speak a different language. Ray hasn't told me what it is yet, not that we ever get together and talk casually." Just then, he heard a low roar next to him. He looked up at Mia and saw her blush a little. 

 

"Looks like I'm not the only one who's hungry" said Eevee with a smirk. "No I'm not." Mia denied. \*grumble\* 

 

"Yes you are. Here, we'll split it." Eevee moved the small pile of food so that it was between them.  
 

"I'm only gonna eat a little bit, so eat the rest." she said as she took a paw full of food. Eevee and Mia spent the next twenty minutes eating and talking before calling it a night and going to sleep.  
 

\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*8\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*

  
Eevee awoke to a cool, windy morning. The sun was only half-way up, so the sky had a yellowish, orange color with a little bit of that night-time blue in it. Eevee thought that it was going to be a good morning, till he opened his eyes fully and saw the cage bars. 

 

"Great. Now the highlights of my days are going to be me sleeping." he thought to himself. He looks in a corner of the cage and sees a group of sleeping pokémon huddled together. He looks to his right to see Mia sleeping peacefully next to him. A cold wind blew through the cage, making Eevee shiver a little. Even though he has lots of fur, especially around his neck, he doesn't like cold weather very much. Not wanting to feel natures' cold, pine-scented breath, he got up and started to do some light exercises. He started off by doing some stretches to loosen his muscles. After that, he started jogging in a small circle around the cage, but soon realized it was a bad idea. After about five minutes, Eevee started feeling dizzy and couldn't maintain his balance, so he tripped over his own feet and fell on his face. 

 

"Note to self: don't run around in the cage." he said aloud into the cage floor. His ears twitched at the sound of someone...laughing? , Not wanting to move much because he couldn't see straight, Eevee turned his head to see who it was. He looked at the group of sleeping pokémon first, but seeing that none of them moved or made any sounds, he quickly dismissed the idea of it being them. He turned around to look at Mia. Even with his blurry vision, he could still see she was trying hard to hold back a smile with her eyes closed. He assumed she was trying to fake like she's sleeping so, not wanting to pass up the chance for a quick laugh, he got up and wobbled over to where she was. He sat down in front of her with his back to her face. he sat there for a couple of minutes so that his head would stop spinning. While he was sitting, Mia could finally calm herself down enough so that she would look like she was sleeping. Once his vision was back to normal, he used the tip of his tail to lightly tickle her nose. Mia sneezed, but didn't stir from her "sleep". He then stepped up his efforts and used his tail to tickle her ear. This had an instant effect. Mia snorted trying to hold in her laughter and quickly jerked her head away from Eevees' tail. 

 

"I knew you were awake." Eevee said with a big grin. Mia sat up against the cage bars and looked at him with a big smile. 

 

"Alright smarty pants, mind telling me what you were doing just now?" 

 

"I was trying to warm up my body. It's a little to chilly for me." he replied. 

 

"You have all that fur on you and you're still cold?" she asked in disbelief. Eevee looked away in embarrassment. 

 

"Uh, yeah, I never really liked the cold." Mia thought on this for a moment, then she came up with an idea. 

 

"Instead of running in circles, why don't you cuddle up with me so both of us can be warm?" Eevees' face turned beet-red from hearing her idea. 

 

"T-t-that's okay. I, uh, was just kidding about not liking the cold." he said slightly panicked.   
   
Just then, a cold gust of wind blew through the cage, making Mia shiver. When she looked at Eevee, he was sitting completely still and looking very tense. Mia laughed a little under her breath, then scooted over to  
Eevee and pulled him into a hug. 

 

"Do all girls make you this nervous or is it just me?" Eevee thought about her question for a little bit. He's been friends with a sexually abusing aipom his whole life and recently a fully grown Ninetails, so feeling nervous around girls is just a natural reaction to him.  
 

"Just two girls really." he said closing his legs a bit. 

 

"Oh, who?" Eevee began telling her about Aipom and Ember. 

 

"You sure know how to pick your friends." Mia teased. 

 

"It's not my fault I was stuck with them, but they were good to me at least." He said with a smile. 

 

"Before I forget, let me introduce you to everyone." There was a riolu, vulpix, sandshrew, plusle and minun. Judging from their size, Eevee guessed they were really young. "His name's Kai, pointing at riolu, he's Perry, pointing at sandshrew, she's Nina, pointing at vulpix, and the twins are Kato, pointing at minun, and Tammy, pointing at plusle."   
 

A.N.(G1 and G2 are the two galactic members in the truck.)

 

They sat together for an hour watching the sun rise behind the trees and talking before the galactic members woke up. Once they did, they cleaned up their campsite and started loading things in the truck. 

 

"You want to put them back separate cages or just leave them as they are?" asked G1. 

 

"Nah, just leave them in there. Less work for us." replied G2. The grunts went over to the cage of captured pokémon, picked it up and loaded them in the truck. 

 

"Ya know, now that I think about it, we didn't get the best collection of pokémon here." said G1. His partner looked over their haul. 

 

"Maybe you're right. What would happen if Commander Saturn saw this?" 

 

"Or worse, Commander mars." A chill ran up their spines at the thought of Mars punishing them. 

 

"We better find a couple of rare pokémon on our way back." said G2. With that said the grunts got in their truck and drove toward hq.   
   
At this point the other pokémon began to stir. Once they were fully awake, they noticed Mia was hugging Eevee. 

 

"So, you're the new guy?" asked Kai. 

 

"Yeah, you're Kai right?" Eevee replied. 

 

"Uh, yeah. How did you know?" Kai asked, surprised that a complete stranger would know his name. 

 

"Mia told me all your names." A look of relief showed on Kais' face. 

 

"Oh, I almost thought you were using psychic powers to read my mind or something. Anyway, we saw that little scene you made in the cage and I gotta say; you're pretty dumb." 

 

This comment left Eevee a little stunned. He looked at the other pokémon and saw they were nodding in agreement. He then looked at Mia, who was trying to hold in a laugh. 

 

"Well, you did pick a fight with someone while you were trapped in a cage." She said giggling. Eevee reflected on the event and looked down in defeat. 

 

"It was pretty stupid. I wasn't thinking straight. Still, I was taken from my trainer; a friend I've known for a while. How was I supposed to act?" 

 

"Look, I'm not picking on you or anything. I acted the same way when I was taken from my mother. It's just funny when I see someone else do the same mistake I did." Kai said with a toothy grin. "It's not like we have much to laugh about now..." he finished in a sad tone. The other pokémon looked down at the cage floor with sad faces.   
   
Things got quiet between them for a while. Eevee looked at each of his inmates with a heavy heart which was only getting heavier every time he looked at their sad faces. It eventually got to the point where he started to shed tears. 

 

"Eevee?" Mia asked starting to feel him shake in her arms. 

 

"...not fair." 

 

"What?" 

 

"It's not fair!" he shouted as he shook himself out of her embrace. His sudden outburst startled the other pokémon. "Why does this have to happen?! First my parents are taken from me and now I've been taken from my trainer by weirdly dressed thugs who kidnap pokémon! Young pokémon that can barely defend themselves from people like them!" Eevees' anger was getting the best of him again. He looked around the cage for a way out. Kai, sensing danger, tried to calm him down. 

 

"Hey, we're all in the same boat here. Just...sit down and try to think of other things." 

 

"No. I'm getting us outta here." he said before charging a shadow ball. 

 

"Eevee, wait!" Mia pleaded. "The bars are too strong! You can't just bust outta here!" Unfortunately, Eevee wasn't listening to them and he shot a shadow ball at the cage bars. The force of the attack didn't blow the bars apart, but it did blow the cab door open. Of course when he blew the door open, the truck stopped and the two galactic members got out the truck to investigate what happened.   
   
"What the hell happened back here?" asked G2. His partner looked at all the pokémon and quickly figured out what was what. 

 

"Looks like the new guy still has some fight left in him." he said pointing to Eevee, who was growling at them. 

 

"Ya don't say. What do you think we should do with him?" asked G2. 

 

"I got just the thing." The grunt reached over the cage and opened it from the top. He reached for Eevee, who tried to bite him. He tried a second time, faster than the first time, and grabbed the back of his neck. Eevee struggled to get out of his grasp as he pulled him out the cage. The grunt merely smiled and threw Eevee to the ground. Eevee got up and growled at the two grunts. 

 

"Look, you little runt, we can't have you damaging our truck like you just did the whole way back to hq. So here's the deal, I'll battle you. If I win, you have to sit quietly in that cage for the rest of the ride. If you win, you get to go free. Sounds good right?" 

 

His partner looked over at him questionly. "Dude, what are you doing?" 

 

"Don't worry, I got this." replied G1. The grunt looked back to Eevee, who seemed to have calmed down a bit. "Well, what do you say?" Eevee shook his head and pointed to the cage. 

 

"Oh, you want them to be set free as well?" Eevee nodded, at which point both grunts laughed. "Looks like we've got ourselves a hero." G1 said through his laughing. "Okay, we'll set them free too." The pokémon in the cage had mixed feeling about his response. Sure they were happy at the chance to be free again, but at the same time they didn't trust he'll keep his word. 

   
The G1 released a croagunk from its pokéball. "Well, look who's out of their cage." the croagunk said. 

 

"Shut up. Things are gonna be different now. Once I beat you, we're outta here." Eevee said. 

 

"Oh, is that what the boss told you? You're in for a rude awakening." 

 

"What do you mean?" "Let's get things rolling runt." said G1. Eevee started off with a quick attack. 

 

"Before I forget, every time you attack, my partner here will shock your friends with an almost lethal dose of electricity." 

 

"The hell?!" Eevee said before stopped dead in his tracks. He looked at the grunts to see one of them holding a device with electricity surging at the end. 

 

"Unless you want your friends to be fried, I suggest you get comfortable in there." G1 said with an evil smile. Eevee has never really hated anyone before, but this guy, was getting on his very last nerve. After careful thought and swallowing a lot of pride, he surrendered. G1 saw the look of defeat on Eevees' face and slowly approached him. 

 

"Now that you know your place, how 'bout you be a good little runt and stay quiet for the rest of the ride." G1 picked him up, put him in the cage, and continued the trip with his partner to Galactic headquarters.  
  

\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*8\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*  
 

The ride wasn't very pleasant from that moment on. Eevee wanted to sleep a few minutes after the incident, telling the others that he'll feel better after a nap. He never actually fell asleep, so he just closed his eyes and pretended. Meanwhile, the others were talking about him. 

 

"You think he's ok?" asked Nina. 

 

"Don't think so. He was really looking forward to setting us free." said Kai.

 

"I feel sorta bad. I feel that we held him back from going home." Perry said sadly. 

 

"No, there was no helping it. I'm sure they would've come up with something to keep him here even if we weren't here." 

 

"...Still, I feel kinda bad." 

 

"Maybe we could cheer him up." Tammy suggested. 

 

"Yeah, let's cheer him up." Kato added. 

 

"I guess it couldn't hurt to try." said Kai. "But first, we gotta wake him up." 

 

"Oh, let me do it." Tammy said excitedly. 

 

"Me too." added Kato, who was just as excited. The twins rushed on either side of Eevee and started poking him in his sides. When he didn't stir, they poked him harder. Eventually they gave up. Even if they had good intentions, Eevee didn't feel like socializing at the moment. 

 

"He's not waking up." Kato complained. 

 

"Ya think we need to poke harder?" asked Tammy. 

 

"Nah, I already poked him as hard as I could." 

 

"Let me try." Nina said going to where they were. She grabbed his tail with her maw and bite down as hard as she could. 

 

 "HOLY S\*\*T!!!" Eevee screamed at the top of his lungs. He instinctively whipped his body around and protected his tail from further harm. Nina spit out the little strands of his fur from her mouth. Mia, Kai,  
and Perry watched the scene unfold to new heights. Eevee was licking his sore tail while cursing under his breath, the twins, who seemed oblivious to what was going on, sang a duet to cheer him up, and Nina was still trying to spit out his fur. All this continued till the twins ran out of songs to sing. By this time, Eevees' tail wasn't as sore, but it still stung from time to time. Since this whole thing started, there was a question Perry needed answered.   
  

  "Uhh...Eevee?" Eevee looked up to Perry. "What does s\*\*t mean?"   
  
That one question made both Eevee and Mia's heart go near flat line. Since he was so young, the world of swearing hasn't connected to his young mind yet. Not wanting to let his vocabulary expand into the world of sailors and angry moms, they did the only responsible thing parents would do in this situation. 

 

"Don't you ever say that word again!" they both said together. Perry almost rolled up into a ball at the sudden outburst. "Why not?" he asked a little scared of finding out the answer. 

 

"It's, uh... just something you shouldn't say casually- I mean not at all." Eevee said. 

 

"Y-yes, you shouldn't go around saying that word... ever." Mia cast a sideways glare at Eevee, who was regretting saying that out loud. 

 

"Mmm... ok." the sandshrew said a little disappointed. Mia looked at the rest of the younger pokémon, who seemed interested in this new word. 

 

"That goes for the rest of you too." she said in a parental tone.
