I am not the best poet, but I hope you enjoy reading what I share.\nI was short a submission to post today, sorry!","content":" **Behind closed doors**\n\nBehind closed doors  \nyou will see  \nthe woollen scarf unravelling,  \nat both ends,  \nthe spider re-spinning his  \ndefeated home  \nand, above all,  \nthe sideways chair, stood prone.  \n  \nThe ballpoint leaks ink,  \nsullying the blank notebook  \npoised at page one,  \nand the novel propped open,  \nhalfway through,  \nbeside the empty drinking glass,  \nfew drops remaining:  \nlight spilling in, bold as brass.  \n  \nThis cottage flowerbed overcome  \nby weeds, ground laid to waste,  \nwaves solemnly through the misted window,  \nas a single speck of dust settles  \non the chocolate foil,  \ndrifting near the paper bin, almost posed  \nto find. But no: she is gone.  \nThe book falls closed.\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Poetry","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/1181998-those-sundays.json"}}
