My first story. so give it a try?

This is my first " Real" story so feedback would be appreciated.....

You are probably wondering why I have my computers mouse wire wrapped around my neck. Well THAT is one hell of a story, and you, the person that is reading this note that I hastily scribbled on a lined piece of paper, are about to find out.

You see I was dating this girl that I Loved with all my heart.  My friends had got us together during high school, and we sort of just "Clicked".  You could say it was magical. She made me the happiest being in the world. It was like I found my other half in life. She was Just "Perfect" in everyway possible.  We dated through our high school years and then continued to the same college together!

One night I finally decided I was going to ask her to marry me.  I drove up to her house that night, got out of my car and knocked on her door.  She didn't answer, I waited for at least 5 minutes before I got my spare key and invited myself inside.  I called out to her "Taylor you there?" but there was no response. Now at this point I was getting worried.  I was starting to have crazy thoughts about her being, kidnapped, killed or worse. As I got close to the stairs that led upstairs I heard a strange sound coming from upstairs. As I moved further up the stairs and to the sound I realized it was coming from her door.

I stopped adjusting the engagement ring box I had in my right hand, and took a deep breath and opened the door.  She was with ANOTHER MAN!  I stood there speechless.  I finally barely uttered "Taylor? What are you doing?".  Taylor and the man whipped around to look at me, still in the midst of their embrace, having not noticed me standing there until that point. "Nate! What are you doing here?"

"I wanted to surprise you",  I whispered, after standing motionless for what seemed like hours.  I looked down at my right hand and held up the engagement ring box. "I thought I would take you out for a special night, and finally make you mine after all these years".  My voice got more and more slurred the longer I talked.  " But apparently I was wrong about making you mine".

My eyes started watering and I felt like I couldn't breath. She tried to respond, but nothing came out. "Ill just go now" I said.  Before she could respond I turned and went back down the steps. I made it to my car and was about to drive way until I heard pounding on my window. It was Taylor. She stood there gasping for breath with ruffled clothes on. I rolled down my window and motioned for her to talk.  " Nate listen.  People make mistakes all the time, and this time I made the mistake. Please, Please forgive me."  "No I will not forgive you. I saw in there that you made your choice, and the choice sure as Hell wasn't me"  After I said this I rolled up my window and pulled away. As I was driving away the tears flow freely down my cheeks.

When I got home I realized I lost the "Real" only good thing in my life.  I had a awful job that I hated, I was getting kicked out of my home because I couldn't make rent due to the lousy pay and I lost the girl of my dreams. Then, at that realization, I decided what I was going to do. I grabbed my computer mouse cord and tied it into a noose. I hung the cord over my ceiling fan and got a chair.

And that's where you find me now, struggling for breath as I die. It is kinda funny I thought, as I slowly die. This wasn't the way I thought tonight would end or, for that matter, the way I thought I would die.

At the final moment before I died I thought I saw a light then........ Darkness.
