I'm not sure If I'll ever get around to writing it but I think this stands alone as is. I hope you like it.","content":"You came to me forty years ago.\n\nYou were so small and fragile. Probably the weakest human I had ever seen.\n\nYou cried, a lot, and you didn't even know how to speak. I tried to provide for you. I'm not sure if I did a great job. I didn't know much about your kind.\n\nI remember your first hunt. You stumbled about like an adorable little hatchling before asking me for help.\n\nI remember your first flight with me. You knew my movements and we soared, as if you were born to fly. \u0026nbsp;\n\nYou were constantly cold. You couldn't see very well. I always had to protect you from danger. You liked to give away my treasure to 'those who needed it' and you loved to pet prey animals. But I still loved you.\n\nAnd I remember the first time you told me you loved me. It was the happiest day of my life.\n\nYou were always happy.\n\nUntil the day you weren't.\n\nThe healers said you wouldn't survive. You looked so helpless and vulnerable. I begged the gods to save you. I was selfish.\n\nYou did survive but it was never the same.\n\nThe hills became mountains and the stream a rushing river. You couldn't fly with me any longer. Our cave became your prison.\n\nIt was ok, we read. We couldn't go on adventures but we spun tales of them instead.\n\nI remember you coming up with the greatest stories. Always about me. \u0026nbsp;\n\nI remember you trying to tell me everything would be okay. I knew it wouldn't.\n\nYou weren't in pain but it was getting worst. You were still happy, it just got harder and harder to move.\n\nI remember the smile on your face every morning you woke up and looked at me. Until the one day you didn't wake up.\n\nI didn't think I could go on. The rain that poured that day disguised my tears.\n\nSo here I stand at the gates of death's door to get you back. A price must be paid. A price I cannot pay, but must. Our fates will be linked and you will live.\n\nI will no longer remember you.\n\nPlease remind me my dear human.\n\n"}
