{"sf1_id":1324672,"sf2_id":"5nzz26Nn","title":"*poem* Poet's Block","author":"Glycanthrope","words":292,"posted_at":"2018-04-18T23:26:00.000Z","tags":["Clean","Poem","Poetry","slice of life"],"url":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/1324672-poem-poet-s-block","original_url":"https://sofurry.com/s/5nzz26Nn","image_url":"https://cdn.sofurryfiles.com/submissions/thumbnails/e6/b0/e6b05cbf-c6ea-494b-905a-873886e9c9d8","description":"#16 of Poetry\n\nA poem about writing - or the lack of same","content":"POET'S BLOCK\u0026nbsp;\n\nFor some reason or another\n\nI didn't get around to writing this down yesterday\n\nor the day before that\n\nand the blank page is beginning to annoy me.\n\nIn a couple of months I won't even recognize what it meant to me, or rather: in a couple of months\n\nor weeks even\n\nI'll believe it served some kind of purpose\n\nback now\n\nwhen I was too lazy to write\n\n(which I am)\n\nor I was preoccupied with everyday\n\nor I left my notebook back home\n\nWhich is why I'm writing something now, even though it's growing late\n\nThe need to write is there\n\nthough I don't know what I need to write\n\nbut as long as it adds up to a predetermined number of words, it doesn't really matter.\n\nI can't write about things that happened today\n\nbecause the date would be way off\n\nby the time I've finished writing\n\nHonestly\n\nI can't write about anything\n\nif I were to stay true to my ideas\n\nand I probably shouldn't have begun this piece in the first place.\n\nBut one could jump to the wrong conclusions\n\nI might begin to believe something was not well\n\nwhen the page decides to remain blank\n\nIt's stubborn\n\nand intimidating and frightening with all its blankness\n\nBut now I'm so far into the page, it's \"okay\" for one tonight\n\nI can't write about the futility of life\n\nbecause that wouldn't be true\n\nThe date is also off\n\nI'm actively looking for excuses\n\nMaybe I was away visiting my parents on that other day\n\nwhere I didn't get any writing done either\n\n(It's a looong drive and...)\n\neven though the date-stamp has long passed\n\nI can always write\u0026nbsp;how I'm sitting on my bed\n\ndreaming about writing\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Poetry","previous":"https://sofurry.com/s/lmXy5Gyn"}}
