Steel was laying next to me. He looked very weary; he must have searched for me all night. I glanced down at him and decided not to disturb his sleep. Then, I quietly stole away.

I ran in the woods; for no reason at all, just merely for pleasure. I met with my friend Pross again. Together we romped about in the fluffy snow. Then a shadow darkened the ground under us.

          \\*Gasp\\*

Standing over us was a snarling gray wolf. He looked mean, however he was also inexperienced. I was scared, for I knew that I would not have Steel's help this time.

I righted myself and curled my lips revealing many pointy white teeth. From my curled teeth a let out a 'vicious' puppy snarl. Pross followed my example and barred his fangs. Together, side-by-side we stood, facing down this fiend.

The gray wolf was thin, and was probably thinking Pross and were to become his next meal. He was a fairly old wolf; but was an inexperienced fighter, which is probably why he was driven form his pack. I looked into his eyes; hunger and desperation filled them. I could count on him to do something foolish. Although, I'm sure he knew hat, he was still determined.

He attacked, trying to knock me down first, unaware of what Pross was truly capable of. As the Gray Wolf Lunged at me, Pross made a valiant counter-attack. He jumped; his jaws clamped onto the fur on the Gray Wolf's throat, missing the jugular but a centimeter.

This unexpected Move by Pross took the Gray Wolf by surprise. He abandoned his attack on me and turned his attention to Pross- The Fatal Mistake. Seeing this, I rushed in. Following the example of Pross, I too lunged at the Gray Wolf. My jaws clamped down on his right front leg, cutting the tendon and rendering that leg unusable.

The Gray Wolf was now balancing on thre legs, as one hung uselessly. He was finally able to shake Pross off. We both stood there, snarling; staring down the crippled Gray. Something else caught Pross's and my eye- another mistake- the Gray Wolf was holding his head too high, a mistake I might have made a year ago, but not now.

I looked at Pross and nodded

"On two," I mouthed to him

He acknowledge with his own nod.

          "One...
