This was my first attempt at free verse poetry; it does not rhyme or have a meter, but now you know where I stand.","content":"Tiny Candles\n\n(04/03/2018)\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nLove is like a candle,\n\nIt burns brightly when first lit,\n\nDimming and melting away as it ages,\n\nThe wax running over,\n\nSome blow out before their time,\n\nStruck by violent gust,\n\nWhile other flames drown,\n\nFalling into the fetid wax below,\n\nIf you should suffer burns,\n\nDo not be dismayed,\n\nSearch until your flame extinguishes,\n\nSearch for a bright candle that will burn for you,\n\nThere may yet be a candle waiting,\n\nThe scorned may yet find admiration,\n\nThe injured may yet find healing,\n\nAnd the forsaken may yet be redeemed.\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Poetry","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/1356177-justifiable-suicide.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/1356180-the-beast-within.json"}}
