# Mesozoic Park (Part 16)

#18 of Mesozoic Park

I meant to take one week off, not two... Sorry about that, I had this done in time, I guess I just forgot.

It took months... Nearly a year to make a very basic translation book. We where having very basic conversations. The basic translation book evolved into a more complex one... Than a even more complex book. There came a point, nearly three years and we had a near finished translation book, But every so often I would have to add a new sound.

Thats when I made it, a simple, padded collar with complex censors that could translate the smallest noise into a word or phrase and even express feelings with voice tones. We could talk like two people speaking the same language.

"hey runt!" I said

She waved and tilted her head.

I said "I have a present for you"

She knelt down.

I put the massive collar around her neck.

She tilted her head, a voice asked "what is this?" before her jaw dropped "I am surprised" a smile went across the Indominus's face.

A wolf and a runt Indominus Rex having normal conversations... Communication with any dinosaur could be used as a money bringing attraction!

We talked a lot, eventually I asked "Why is i that you are nice to me?"

She lay on her side and thought for a moment before saying "you beat me down, you tied me up, you could have killed me... Yet you let me live... You asserted your dominance... you are superior to me, you are a alpha above all others"

"what about your brother?" I asked.

She shook hes head "he wanted me to die... He wants to be a, as one would say, a lone wolf" said the collar.

I looked at my watch, I jumped up and said "I best get the two of you fed before the power goes out" I started to walk to the door.

"why is the power going out?" she asked

I turned to face her and I explained "we have to fix some electrical stuff... simple as that"

She nodded and said "alright, bye"

Using the crane, I dropped food into the runts enclosure than turned to drop food in the other Indominus Rex. I lowered the food well into reach and the power went out. I thought out loud "well, guess I'll leave this for tonight"

I got out of the crane and climbed down the ladder before heading to our home on the island to spend some time with Gena and Matt as I started to realize I don't spend enough time with them, so we decided to go for a hike and have a picnic.

Walking to a spot I noticed a while ago, we chatted, I eventually asked Gena "do you think I don't spend enough time with you two?"

Gena was a little confused, the question was so random, but after a moments of thought she said "you always make time for us, only canceling if totally necessary, so I think you spend as much time as any other father would"

I smiled a little "oh thats fantastic, I was worried I might be a bad dad"

Gena gave me a little hug "your the best dad ever, you tell me how many kids get to go to work with their dad and see dinosaurs every day" 

"thanks, and your the best wife and mom ever" I replied, giving her a little kiss.

We had a nice relaxing day before heading back as the sun started to set.

The next morning was business as usual, I woke up to the sound of the rooster chicken-saur crowing before carefully heading out as to not wake Gena and Matt before feeding them to get them to quiet down. I than proceeded to go about to check on the other animals, feeding them accordingly.

I was about to head to the Indominus Rex enclosures when I noticed the power was still out, I picked up my radio and said into it "hey, is the power out there too?"

It took a moment for a reply, but a voice came through "yeah, the powers out and our generator is running low on gas"

"After I check on the Indominus, I'll bring you some" I told them.

The voice came back "Thank you Jake, we are looking into whats taking the power so long to come back"

"Very good, Jake out" I said and continued down the path, reaching the enclosure I noticed something looked odd about the crane. I had to climb half way up the ladder before I noticed the crane arm was down in the alpha's enclosure and he was gone.

I picked up my radio "An Indominus has escaped!" I said "The aggressive one!"
