I want to get better.","content":"It was a common belief among the wolves of Jasper that Alphas, proud leaders, hunters, soldiers and the like would have their duties hampered by the carefree and happy-go-lucky\n\nOmega wolf. Well, thats what kate guessed the reason was anyway. It was a sort of unspoken rule to never discuss such taboo subjects in her strong, proud, alpha family.\n\nUntil now...well, she never had much reason to care. Kate was an Alpha. She was loyal to her pack.\n\nShe would never dream of defying one of the few laws that held her pack together. It was her duty to lead by example. Her responsibility. No, her birthright.\n\nShe was the pack leaders daughter. The daughter of one of the fiercest wolves ever to roam the hills of Alberta and she would do her proud.\n\nKate contemplated this, riding in the back of a humans camper van thing her Omega travelling companion had gotten her stuffed into. it was a cozy little place\n\nif stuffy. She was laid out on the bed taking stock of her surroundings as she was taught.\n\nShe regarded the interior of the camper she was in. Her bed was soft and plush, far above the rocky cave she slept in back home. There was a window to her Left, big enough\u0026nbsp;\n\nto fit through. The main door was towards the back of the truck. In a state of disrepair it swung open without much resistance when pressed upon even by her.\u0026nbsp;\n\nThe floor was soft autumn orange coloured carpeting and added to the little mobile-dens feeling of coziness.\u0026nbsp;\n\nThere in the center of the carpet laid her...\"companion\" for her journey. A grey Omega wolf captured with her for purposes she would rather not think about.\u0026nbsp;\n\nHis name was Humphrey. He was handsome enough, she supposed. Not rough on the eyes at all. His fur turned darker grey when reaching his haunches\n\ngiving him an almost noire look about him. In stark contrast to how he acted, he was always giddy and happy. Quite the joker, too. He was always there when\n\nyou needed some cheering up or when you need to stop a fight before it began. In that way you could say he serves his pack in much the same manner as her.\n\nShe respected him for that.\n\nStill yet, after all her talk of respecting the ways of her pack she had caught herself ogling an omega boy.\n\nShe turned her head back to look outside the window grateful Humphrey hadn't been awake to see her make herself blush. Quietly displeased with her own impropriety, she cursed herself.\n\nFor Alphas, romance wasn't really the most important thing they had on their plate. She had never really pursued a male nor had she been pursued.\u0026nbsp;\n\nIt was maybe that boys just didn't like alpha females. That or, maybe they were scared to approach her because her fathers the pack leader.\u0026nbsp;\n\nMaybe she was just unattractive. Her duties would probably keep her from being a mother or such anyway, so its probably a blessing in disguise.\n\nWith her inexperience though, came a curiosity. She had to wonder if the handsome male laying next to her ever had a female before.\n\nEven she had to admit his eyes were quite fetching, a deep beautiful blue. Couple that with his agile looking body, and surprisingly\u0026nbsp;\n\npretty fur and yeah h\u0026nbsp;probably had offers before. If she was an Omega she probably would have already-\n\nDamnit! She did it again! Kates own thoughts could get her into trouble if he caught her looking at him like she just did. And then she fantasized about him.\n\nGoodness, was she really doing this? An Alpha should never be this amorous. She should not be thinking these things period. Much less about an Omega.\u0026nbsp;\n\nHer parents would be so disappointed.\n\nKate took a few deep breaths in an attempt to calm herself. She really was not used to these emotions. But then again...she wasn't thinking of him in \\*that\\* way.\n\nShe was just...admiring his looks. Platonically. That's something friends do and humphrey was without a doubt her best friend. He was pretty much the only guy she talked\n\nto. Ever. Aside from her hunting buddies but they were all married. Really, Humphrey was the only boy of her age she had ever felt really close to.\u0026nbsp;\n\nHe was here, too. With her in the only time she had ever left the park. Doing nothing but providing comfort by being here.\n\nIt suddenly struck the Alpha She-Wolf how exactly alone they were. In the back of this humans camper truck in a makeshift human den barreling down the road with the engine\u0026nbsp;\n\nnoise loud enough to drown out whatever sound they made. They could do anything they wanted back here, completely free of consequences.\u0026nbsp;\n\nKate could feel her heart beat faster when she imagined all the naughty things the two could get up to back here without any chance of repercussions.\u0026nbsp;\n\nShe clawed into the bed anxiously. Turned her head back to the sleeping Omega and sighed heavily.\u0026nbsp;\n\nIt was going to be a long trip home.\n\nKate gulped and turning her attention back to the window she laid down, hoping to get some sleep. This feeling and these emotions and all of this\n\ndoesn't fit an Alpha. She had hunted many times, she had brought back many fresh kills to feed the pack. She could even defend herself from a bear she was trained in all of that\n\nbut never did any of her teachers, father and mother included ever teach her how to deal with boys.\n\nInterrupting her inner monologue humphrey had risen to stretch a bit and with a dopey sleepy eyed expression turned to Kate.\n\n\"...Are we there yet?\"\n\n\"No!\"\n\n\"Whoah sheesh. Bad dream?\"\n\n\"uh..no you just kind of woke me up\"\n\n\"ohh sorry. I didn't think I was being that loud.\"\n\n\"its..ugh its alright. I just have a lot to think about.\"\n\nKate had turned and crossed her forepaws while looking down at the omega who by this point has risen to a sitting position.\n\n\"Oh. I mean yeah that makes sense Alpha problems and all that. Do you want to talk about it?\"\n\n\"No I really shouldn't\"\n\n\"Come on, what is it? Pack secrets? Scandal? You know I can keep secrets with the best of 'em\"\n\n\"I appreciate it humphrey but I really think this is something I should keep to myself\"\n\nShe spoke matter-of-factly as a queen would to a peasant. Her tone made it difficult to argue.\n\n\"Im just saying we have a long ride ahead of us, so if you want to pass the time with some gossip im-\"\n\n\"No absolutely not and that's finale Humphrey. Really.\"\n\n\"Okay okay...\"\n\nHe had risen up a paw in a submissive \"calm down\" gesture\n\n\"but you know if you need me im here?\"\n\n\"If I say yes will you drop it?\"\n\n\"eh...\"\n\n\"Humphrey!\"\n\n\"Okay yes deal It's dropped\"\n\n\"Then yes i'm aware of that and thank you for it\"\n\n\"mmhmmm\"\n\nHumphrey was smiling now, apparently quite pleased with himself. Seeing that of course, made Kate smile.\n\n\"You're such an Omega, really\"\n\nShe said with an eye roll. Honestly, she couldn't help but chuckle a bit at his grin.\n\n\"Hey now, is that a compliment? Cause it sounds like it could be...\"\n\n\"I guess if you look at it like that it coul-\"\n\nKate was interrupted by the Omega performing a very elegant mock bow, lifting his own bushy tail to accentuate the gracefulness\n\n\"thank you, thank you, you're a wonderful crowd! Id like to thank my parents and my pack and...\"\n\nMaybe it wouldn't be such a long ride back after all. In such a short conversation he had her smiling and laughing and all her anxieties just faded away.\n\n...Damn. He is good.\n\n\"Goodness humphrey...\"\n\n\"whaaat?\"\n\nMore relaxed by now, kate had taken to resting her head on her forepaws and watching the male in his mock-theatrical display as she leaned over the side of the bed.\n\n\"You're really into this aren't you?\"\n\n\"Well im whatever my audience wants me to be!\"\n\nJust then a bang came from the front end of the truck jolting the pair back to reality, and knocking Humphrey off his balance and into one of the tin walls of their\n\nlittle would be den, kate who had her ears on a swivel swiftly calmed when she realized they had just hit a pothole. Humphrey however, was on his side and glaring humorously\n\ntowards the drivers seat, humans up there apparently none the wiser of the damage they had caused to their stowaways.\n\nNoting humphrey's predicament kate simply smiled at him.\n\n\"wow so you're a real method actor huh?\" She said to the poor wolf, and lifted a forepaw to her mouth to cover her grin.\n\nGroggily, Humphrey took the time to stand up but seeing the effect he had he averted his gaze and smiled.\n\n\"im glad one of us enjoyed my performance.\"\n\n\"mhhmm.\" Kate giggled.\n\nThey had joked this way for a time. Teasing each other for a bit before the camper van pulled into a motel parking lot. Where the humans where going to sleep for the night,\n\nkate guessed. Peeking through the window, she mentally ticked off that fact. She saw the couple who were driving them walk into a larger, brighter room than the one\n\nthey were in. Why they decided to go to a different den when they already had one on their vehicle kate did not know. Humans were mysterious creatures, but that\u0026nbsp;\n\nmeans her current ride was unimpeded and they could continue to hitch it all the way back home, hopefully.\n\nIt was nearly midnight by this point. Humphrey was asleep in the floor and kate was hungry. This motel was sleepy enough she figured, she could probably nab a few\n\nhuman left overs from somewhere. She was good enough to get in and out under the humans noses definitely. It was humphrey that would get them caught.\n\nSo, she resolved herself. Sneak out while humphrey slept and get them both food. Easy enough.\n\nDropping into her hunter stance, she tip-toed over the peacefully napping body of her friend and slowly creaked the door open.\n\nIt was much colder here, she noticed that immediately. There was a neon sign illuminating the roadway and bright lights coming from the motel rooms. The parking lot\u0026nbsp;\n\nitself was wide and near barren, save for her own ride and a couple others. looking back, she made sure humphrey was still asleep before dropping into the cold night.\n\nOutside she was again struck by the temperature, but this was good. The colder it got, the closer they got to home.\u0026nbsp;\n\nShe stole away, mentally ticking off the possible points humans could be hiding behind for the return trip.\n\nTowards the lights, a sign above it read \"lobby\" she peeked inside. There was a human male asleep at the desk and a half eaten burger beside him.\n\nPerfect.\u0026nbsp;\n\nShe quickly scanned her surroundings, making sure no one would see her. All the human-dens had their curtains closed and her mark was out cold.\u0026nbsp;\n\nVery carefully, she started to nose open the push door to the lobby. Her eyes trained on the sleepy human ready to book it if he even moved in his sleep.\n\nBut as if the gods themselves were conspiring against her, as she had the door half open a loud \"bing\" sounded from the door, immediately kate booked it into the\u0026nbsp;\n\nnearby woods, and snuck under a bush. A softer \"bong\" sounded as the door closed. A very confused human opened the door to peek outside. Kate noticed he didn't follow\n\nher. Was he scarred? Maybe she still had a chance of getting something to eat.\n\nAfter waiting a few minutes for the now visibly anxious human to relax she snuck into the trash cans nearby nosing around for\n\nanything to bring back. Eventually she had to give up, not eating was honestly better than eating this stuff. It smelled worse than human food usually did.\n\nAnd that is saying something.\n\nIn defeat, kate snuck back to the camper.\u0026nbsp;\n\nAs she nosed the door open she saw a very worried humphrey laid on the bed looking out the window waiting for her. She could hear\n\nthe relief in his voice when he hopped down seeing her.\n\n\"oh god are you okay?\"\n\nhe walked forward wrapping his forepaws around her in a hug.\n\n\"I thought that...\"\n\n\"Humphrey sheesh!\"\n\nKate pulled off him and looked to the male, more quizzically than anything.\n\n\"Im alright...see\"\n\n\"No I knew you would be alright I just...\"\n\nHumphrey scratched the back of his neck with a hindpaw attempting to appear nonchalant.\n\nKate cocked her head to the side.\n\n\"Nevermind\"\n\nKate had never seen Humphrey like this before.\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"uh huh...well, I was trying to find us something to eat. Couldn't find anything though.\"\n\n\"Well thats alright. It was a good try.\"\n\n\"Humphrey are you okay?\"\n\n\"what do you mean? Im fine.\"\n\n\"I don't know you seem anxious or something\"\n\n\"Im...I was just worried about you.\"\n\n\"Worried? Humphrey come on. This is me you're talking to. Daughter of the pack leader you know, not to brag but I can handle myself.\"\n\n\"yeah I know its kinda dumb\"\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"Well im here. Im alright. No need to worry anymore, right?\"\n\n\"Right. So what happened? You were gone awhile.\"\n\n\"Its...quite a tale.\"\n\n\"We don't have anything but time.\"\n\n\"Good point. Promise not to laugh?\"\n\n\"eh...\"\n\nKate regaled humphrey with the tale of the tattle-telling door for a time before they both decided to head to bed. Kate in her usual position in the actual bed, and\u0026nbsp;\n\nhumphrey on the carpet below. Both snoozing peacefully.\u0026nbsp;\n\nIt was not until the truck started up again they both woke up.\n\nKate stretched and yawned and did her usual morning routine, glancing out the window as the setting for her late night adventure disappeared behind her.\n\nHumphrey below was already awake and glancing upwards at her. Eagerly waiting for her attention. Seeing him so awake and attentive made her jump a little when she finally\n\nmet his eyes.\n\n\"Uh humphrey...?\"\n\n\"good morning Kate\"\n\n\"good morning. Um. Why are you so giddy?\"\n\n\"well the way I see it, we have a long time up until we get back home right?\"\n\n\"Yeah...\"\n\n\"so you got any cool stories like the one from last night?\"\n\n\"What you wanna hear about hunting?\"\n\n\"uh huh\"\n\n\"Uh...im not sure if I really have ever done something that interesting before. I mean you know what happens on a hunt don't you? It kind of is the same every time\u0026nbsp;\n\njust different places\"\n\nHumphreys ears dropped\n\n\"how about you tell me something you've done before. You and your friends probably get up to alot of crazy stuff right?\"\n\n\"Well...there was this one time. This girl was, oh my god this girl okay so. She was kinda crazy right little bit koo-koo?\"\n\nKate nodded.\n\n\"So she comes and gets us all together right now she was like 'ey why don't all you boys take turns on me' and like I didn't even think she was a slut so...uh...\"\n\nHumphrey turned beet red. Realizing how risque his story was he turned to Kate, very obviously embarrassed at his choice of gossip\n\nKate was smiling, she held up a paw to calm him.\n\n\"its okay, I think were friendly enough to talk about that kinda stuff by now right?\"\n\n\"uh okay. Yeah.\"\n\n\"Do you mind talking about that kinda stuff with me?\"\n\n\"No I just...I figured you would look down your nose at me for it\"\n\n\"nah come on\"\n\nKate flicked a paw dismissively.\u0026nbsp;\n\n\"If theres anyone in the pack I can talk about this kind of stuff with, its probably you and my sister. You're... if I had to rank my friends you're probably\n\nmy best.\"\n\n\"Uh wow thank you. I...Ill try to live up to your expectations\"\n\n\"Come on its not that big of a deal, you're an omega you must have tons of friends right?'\n\n\"just 3 good ones really... 4 now.\"\n\nKate smiled.\n\n\"So there was you, and 3 other boys and one girl in that gangbang.\"\n\n\"ack!\"\n\nHumphrey was back to blushing various shades of red under his fur\n\n\"No actually.\"\n\nHe started looking at the floor, embarrassed but comforted by kate's crass comment.\n\n\"Im probably more reserved like that than most. But no, she ended up dating a buddy of mine for like a week then just bailed on the idea. I never really wanted to do it anyways.\"\n\nKate chuckled.\n\n\"So...have you ever been with a girl like that?\"\n\n\"uh. I...No I. I guess im a virgin. I can fit you up here\"\n\nThe very large grin on Humphreys face was very very noticeable.\n\n\"You can sleep with me here if you ever get tired of the cold floor.\"\n\nHumphreys eyes widened a bit before kate realized what she said.\n\n\"Be-beside me! You can sleep beside of me if you ever get tired of the floor. Ahem.\"\n\nHumphrey closed his eyes for a second, nodding and smiling happily before making eye contact with the fairly well embarrassed Alpha.\n\nKate had to admit, he had a way of changing your mood.\u0026nbsp;\n\nStill though, she didn't know exactly what she wanted from him. He was a great friend, sure but did she just want to mate with him? Well, yes but was it that simple?\n\nOr maybe it was that mating-age tension her father had warned her about. Boys will be boys and all that. Humphrey wasn't like that though, he was always respectful.\n\nIf he had anything on his mind she had no doubt he would have already brought the subject up.\n\nKate pawed at the bed, She had every intention of broaching the subject once she had him where she wanted him. Preferably sleeping next to her,\u0026nbsp;\n\nor 'platonically' cuddling. Maybe she would drop a few hints and gauge his reaction, or maybe she would accidentally brush up against his nethers mid-cuddle.\n\nShe was acting as though she were on a hunt. She had her prey in her sights and was prepared to pounce.\n\nHer heart fluttered, and she smiled.\n\n\"Yeah I mean I really don't mind\" kate giggled \"You just look so cold down there, and there's plenty of room up here\"\n\n\"Its pretty chilly, you got me there. I like praise.\"\n\n\"Well in that case...\"\n\nKate got a wild, devilish gleam in her amber eyes. She swished her tail expectantly.\n\n\"I think...you're the funniest omega in the pack.\"\n\n\"Really? I do manly things, I'm not a teacher or, someone guys are usually into.\"\n\nKate flicked her hair to the side.
