She meant alot to me. Grew up with me you know, had her since she was a puppy. Now she's gone, and I wasn't even there to say goodbye.\nShe deserved better from me.\nThe least I can do, the very simplest I can do is to try to communicate to you all what a wonderful girl she was to the very end. If I can tell you how happy she made me, and by some trick of empathy make you happy too, then I think that's the best way to honor her.\nI'm sorry to any of you who might be expecting a different type of story from me, but I just needed to do this.","content":"White fur as crisp as winter's snow, black paws the night's darkest.\n\nSame too your maw, a visage unfeeling.\n\nBut a heart of gold you didn't show, neither did your eyes.\n\nThey told me a sad tale, one of longing I surmise.\n\n  \n\nOf young passions lost to time's encroachment.\n\nA girl in a cage. All but forgotten.\n\nSequestered away, time passed you by.\n\nI remember, that with a heavy heart...so too, did I.\n\n  \n\nYet, we still found time for each other.\n\nWhat fun we had in those days!\n\nYour dirty paws traipsing after me, our battles lasted long.\n\nIn that cage, we made it ours. Our shelter from days gone.\n\n  \n\nI still remember, how you'd run and play.\n\nMy best friend, of course I'd follow you so.\n\nYou'd jump about, your tail wagging.\n\nAh, but that was ages ago.\n\n  \n\nAnd how they'd end! With your head against mine.\n\nYour soft fur braced against cloth, I still remember.\n\nThe way I held your paws, the way we watched the sunset.\n\nHow you'd plead with me to stay, how I didn't want to leave, I still remember.\n\n  \n\nBut I take heart.\n\nFor no matter how far away the ages get.\n\nNo matter how time or space would pull us apart.\n\nYou, I swear...I'll never forget.\n\n  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp;  \n\n/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////\n\n  \n\nFor my girl, who passed away recently.\n\n  \n\nThanks for making my childhood so much better, and my teenage years so much more bearable.
