{"sf1_id":143683,"sf2_id":"nKr7Nj0m","title":"Rising Anew-Chapter 4,part 1-","author":"VioletTiger","words":1446,"posted_at":"2010-05-04T14:45:00.000Z","tags":["Anthro","Narcenac","Narina","Rising Anew","Scared","Series","Story","Tiger","Transformation","Violet Tiger","challenge","danger","frightened","fun","furry","running","terrified"],"url":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/143683-rising-anew-chapter-4-part-1","original_url":"https://sofurry.com/s/nKr7Nj0m","image_url":"https://cdn.sofurryfiles.com/submissions/thumbnails/74/0c/740c61b5-ad70-4c83-bc23-fbb214451d6f","description":"#18 of Rising Anew","content":"Rising Anew Chapter 4  \n  \n  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;It was raining heavily.\u0026nbsp; It had been doing so for the past three days.  \n  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;It had been four days since Narcenac and Narina had left Purrma's old house.\u0026nbsp; The first day had been long as the emotions of starting their journey had set root in their minds.\u0026nbsp; It had been spent in silence.\u0026nbsp; Neither of them had wanted to speek, yet both of them knew what the other one was thinking. \u0026nbsp;  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\"What was going to happen.\" \"How long will we travel.\" These were just a few of the questions that floated through their minds.  \n  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;The second day the clouds gathered in full force and poured their bounty out.\u0026nbsp; Narcenac and Narina had found a small grove of trees a small distance from the road.\u0026nbsp; They sat in the cover of some intertwined branches, letting the rain fall in sheets around them.  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;As they sat in silence, Narina slowly fell asleep against Narcenac's shoulder.\u0026nbsp; Narcenac sat there feeling her breathing slowly against him.\u0026nbsp; He couldnt help but enjoy the feeling.\u0026nbsp; Having her sleeping under his watching gaze, it made him feel like a true man.\u0026nbsp; It also brought him much conflict.\u0026nbsp; She had slipped down and was now laying in his lap peacefully.\u0026nbsp; She was so beautiful, laying there silently.\u0026nbsp; He thought back to all the times they had spent under the mask of familyhood. \u0026nbsp;  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;-The dark waves splashed all around her as Narina floated through the black tempest.\u0026nbsp; The sea beat against her, washing her about like a peice of debree.\u0026nbsp; Her screams split the sound of the screaming waves crashing all about.\u0026nbsp; There was nothing she could do, her screams went out to an empty space.\u0026nbsp; She was loosing hope of any type of rescue, and suddenly the water rushed up around her head, flooding into her mouth and eyes and ears.\u0026nbsp; Then she felt a hand grab her own. Up, up, up she moved and she exploded out of the dark ocean.\u0026nbsp; And, there, pulling her into his arms, was Narcenac.\u0026nbsp; He was standing there with a small smile and she held him tight, thanking the heavens that he had come, he had come and saved her.\u0026nbsp; She realised he was everything she needed and wanted in life.-\n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;Narcenac put a hand over Narina's as she began to shiver slightly.\u0026nbsp; He held it in his own for a long minute, then he lifted her in his arms and suddenly she wrapped her arms around his waist.\u0026nbsp; He lifted an eyebrow in suprise, than held her closer as she slept on peacefully.  \n  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;The next two days were spent resting and waiting for the rain to relent.\u0026nbsp; Narina had spent her time brushing her tail and and decorating her clothes with the odd rock or bauble.\u0026nbsp; She had not told Narcenac of her dream, though she had thought of it every day since she had it.\u0026nbsp; Narcenac had tried his best to stay dry, and had even let Narina brush his tail too.\u0026nbsp; He hated the waiting that the rain was making them maintain.  \n  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;The morning of the fifth day finally arrived and with it the beautiful rays of the sun.\u0026nbsp; The two young Necromanta rose with the sun and enjoyed the lovely after-storm smell that came as the warmth of the sunlight started evaporating the rain in the area. \u0026nbsp;  \n  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;Narcenac picked up his pack and swished his tail impatiently from side to side. \u0026nbsp;  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\"Narina, lets go.\u0026nbsp; The road is warm for us.\"\u0026nbsp; he said with a defining swish of his tail.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;Narina stood up and hefted her own pack onto her shoulders.\u0026nbsp; With a last look around the small den that they had unknowingly created.\u0026nbsp; There was loose fur from her brushing times laying in small tufts that had caught on branches here and there.\u0026nbsp; Their scent was thick in the den.\u0026nbsp; She doubted she would forget those few days spent there.  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\"Ok...\u0026nbsp; lets go.\" she said with a sort of accepted finality.  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*  \n  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;The rest of the day was spent walking along a tired and dusty road.\u0026nbsp; Very few cars would come down the road, but just to be safe, Narcenac kept an ear cocked to listen for the tell-tell sign of a muffler.\u0026nbsp; He did not think that humans would take to kindly to the way they were now.\u0026nbsp; For some reason he knew that something dangerous would happen if they were seen. \u0026nbsp;  \n  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;Narina walked happily onward.\u0026nbsp; She knew that Narcenac was always going to be there to protect her.\u0026nbsp; She had no worry in her mind. \u0026nbsp;  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;While they walked she pulled her brush out and flopped her tail over her arm. \u0026nbsp;  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\"How far do you think we will have to go?\" she asked as she innocently brushed the end of her tail.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;Narcenac smiled happily at the free wild beauty in front of him.\u0026nbsp; For the first time in a long time, he was happy again.  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\"I am not sure Naree, but hopefully not too far.\" he replied.  \n  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\"I cant wait to see Purrma, i am going to pounce her good. he he he, i can say i will pounce right, i mean arent we part cat?\"\u0026nbsp; she said between giggling.  \n  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;Narcenac couldnt help but laugh at the bad pun.  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\"Yes i think you safely say that we can pounce.\"\u0026nbsp; he said, chuckling to himself.  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;Suddenly the hum of a motorcycle filled his keen ears.  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\"Narina!\u0026nbsp; Get off of the road! Now!\"\u0026nbsp; he shouted and grabbed her paw, pulling her into the trees beside the road.  \n  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;The motorcycle came flying by just as Narina's tail slipped into the shadows.\u0026nbsp; Narcenac sat down breathing heavily.\u0026nbsp; That was too close for him to be comfortable with.\u0026nbsp; Narina looked at him as the excitement of running slowly faded from her chest and her breathing slowed.\u0026nbsp; She didnt know for sure whether the running made her feel out of breath or Narcenac's hand in hers.  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*\\*  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;That night the wind was chilling.\u0026nbsp; Narcenac had climbed a tree and was looking for a suitable place to camp for the night. A small clearing some ways off caught his eye.\u0026nbsp; It would be good for them.  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;As Narcenac jumped out of the tree, he enjoyed the feeling of the short fall.\u0026nbsp; He jumped from a good twenty foot height, but landed without even a hint of a stumble.\u0026nbsp; He loved this body and all he could do with it.  \n  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\"Show off.\" Narina said from the shelter of the lower branches.  \n  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;He smiled slyly at her, \"Jealous?\"  \n  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\"Not in the least bit.\u0026nbsp; I can do it to you know.\" She said with a hint of a challenge in her voice.  \n  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\"Oh well in that case you wont mind a race then.\" he said eging her on. \"About a mile straight that way is where we will camp tonight, think you can beat me there?\"  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;Narina grinned widely and took off in a blur of purple.\u0026nbsp; Narcenac stood there watching her as she sped through the trees.\u0026nbsp; He was still amazed at how fast they both were.\u0026nbsp; The smile on his own face grew and he scrambled back into the trees.\u0026nbsp; From there he sprinted along a branch and jumped, using his claws to latch onto another tree.\u0026nbsp; \"This was too slow.\" he thought.\u0026nbsp; He walked out on a branch and focused.\u0026nbsp; In an instant he took off again and jumped from branch to branch using all his focus to anticipate the next ones location.\u0026nbsp; He couldnt help but think he must look like the characters from an old anime he had once watched.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;He finally caught up to her as she continued to blast through the forest.\u0026nbsp; On a quick whim he jumped out of the tree over her and landed beside her.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; Startled, Narina veered off a little, then realising it was him, she smiled and put on another burst of speed.  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;Narcenac shook his head, and then rushed to catch back up.\u0026nbsp; Just as he reached her, the treeline broke. \u0026nbsp;  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;They both came to an almost instant halt. \u0026nbsp;  \n  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;Narcenac's heart caught in his chest.\u0026nbsp; \"How could he have been so foolish.\" he thought as a feeling of dread creeped down his spine.  \n  \n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;There in the clearing, was a pickup, and standing beside it, was a large man holding a very large rifle.  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Rising Anew","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/143391-rising-anew-chapter-3-part-2.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/143794-rising-anew-chapter-5-part-1.json"}}
