#41 of Second Chances

Darrick find himself in a dizzy place.

'It's just a quick in and out... that's all,' I repeated in my head as I pressed the buzzer button. Nothing, followed by a static popping noise, and then continued silence.

"Hey, Jude?" I said into the box, unsure if it was even one of those types of buzzers. I thought about running, but my finger was still on the button. The night air was cold on my nose as I stood. I could just see my breath swirl in the glow of the aging, yellow light above the door.

"Yeah, this is him," a crackling voice came through the call box. I could barely make his voice out from the static.

"I... uh," I said, feeling my throat get dry. "I left my backpack at your place."

"Oh," Jude replied. "I can run it down quick."

My brain had a momentary lapse in judgment as I felt the words "Can I come up" dart from my mouth. There was a long pause, where I felt my skeleton curl up inside of my body.

"Yeah, sure..."

I heard the box shriek and the door lock click. I opened it. I felt hollow as I walked in and went up the elevator. The air became thin as it ascended. Each floor felt like its own mountain, and I could sense myself fading away from reality. Maybe it was a defense mechanism, or maybe just pure nerves, but when the door opened, I was numb. My limbs moved, and I guess I was saying words, because Jude was having a conversation with me, but I was not aware of what was going on.

Everything felt like it was in slow motion in my brain, but my eyes were seeing it in double time. I realized that we were watching a movie, and then I felt something pressing against my side. I glanced down. Jude was curled up next to me. I wasn't sure what to do, so I just sat there. Or maybe I didn't. I was still numb and my brain felt like it was in another room.

Why am I here? Where am I? What is going on?

Everything felt hazy, like it was made of watercolors, like it was all a dream I had walked into accidentally.

Maybe that's what it was... a dream. I was actually at home, under a blanket. That's why it felt warm. That's why nothing felt real.

A tug of my hand, and suddenly the watercolors around me shifted to a bedroom. I looked up and the fox was on top of me. He was kissing me. It felt good. The hues around me blushed and swirled. I gave into the dream, and a heat passed through me as I gripped the vividly painted fox, pulling up his shirt. The soft colors on his chest slipped through my fingers, and I felt something brush against my cock.

The swirls pulsed as a wet muzzle moved over my tip. I griped at the hazy world around me, feeling dizzy. Things spun and churned around me, faster and faster. The warmth faded and my arms were suddenly very cold. The cloud of blue I had anchored myself to felt rough and fabric-like in my hand.

I tried to yell out, but my mouth was still numb. I felt something tighten on my cock, sucking the last of the warmth from me. With a pop, I felt my balls tighten and the hot fluid flow from my tip. I looked down as the spinning world shifted back into place; the stacking puzzle pieces of a dark room and Jude with my cock halfway down his throat. As my orgasm fractured into shards, I finally felt my mouth function,

"No!" I yelled with all the air left in my lungs.

I scrambled back, grabbing a pillow off of the couch and covering myself up. My hoofs stumbled, trying to regain balance as my eyes darted around the room. How did I get here? Was this real? If felt more real with each second.

"Darrick?" I heard Jude ask. "Is everything ok?"

I looked at the fox. He was still on the bed, a pronounced erection in his pants, and cum still on his chin. I felt the anger well up inside of me like a tea kettle on boil. "Fuck you."

"What do you mean?" he stammered.

Black rings formed around my vison as a lightheaded sensation washed over me. "AGAIN?" I shifted the pillow at my crotch and felt the slick wetness. I couldn't believe he would do this.

"Darrick," Jude said, reaching a paw out for me.

My arm impulsively shot out and hit it away. I was half naked with my cock out, and feeling extremely vulnerable. His touch was like acid. I felt my breath get heavier and heavier and I started to feel numb again. My mind was racing, trying to figure out how this could have happened. "Every GOD DAMN time! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?" I was all but foaming at the moth, glaring at the fox. He looked scared. Good.

"Darrick, what's wrong?"

Of all the things to ask with my cum still dripping down his face! "YOU! You god damn faggot!! Every time I let you in, you end up seducing me!"

"Darrick, I... I just thought," he said, moving off the bed towards me.

"Get the hell away from me!" I said, moving backwards and bumping into a desk. I looked down, grabbed a lamp, and threw it at the advancing fox.

"Darrick!" He hit the lamp out of the air.

He didn't back down, so I grabbed a book off the desk and threw it at him, but he slipped past it. He yelled at me to stop. My heart was racing. I shifted towards the door, looking for anything else I could fend him off with. I dropped the pillow and stuffed my cock back in my pants. That must have excited him, because he lunged at me, and I reached for a fan sitting on a shelf, but he was getting closer, so I made a fist and socked him in the jaw.

My entire body was pulsing. Jude fell to the floor, but I didn't trust that he was actually down, so I grabbed a few more things and threw them at him just for good measure, as I backed out of the apartment, afraid to turn my back to him.

I felt something hit my shin and I lost my balance, falling over the coffee table, and catching a shelf on the way down. The stacks of books and objects crashed to the ground. In my fast-acting, adrenaline-pumped brain, I shouted out "Maybe this will teach you to ever speak to me again..." I eyed my backpack sitting on the floor. I grabbed it. "You fucking fag!"

I turned and bolted out of the door, letting it slam hard behind me. I ran all the way down the hall, flew down the stairs and ran to my apartment, not once stopping, and barely breathing.

My key refused to find the lock opening as it tapped against the metal circle on my front door. My hands were shaking. I felt like my blood was on fire, and I couldn't stop. I dropped the keys and broke down. I slid down the glass door, sobbing into my arms. How could I have let this happen again?

My arm was soaked in tears by the time I felt my hands stop shaking.

I sat in the cool night air for a long time. I didn't know what time it was, but by the time I moved, the sky had begun to lighten from the morning sun. My eyes burned and my body was sore.

I moved my wobbly hooves inside, and noticed through the glass window of my mailbox that I had a letter. Curious, I opened the box and looked at the envelope. There was no return address, but the hand written words on the front were meant for me. The postal stamp had smeared. It was probably junk mail, so I folded it in my hand and headed up, craving the sweet, soft embrace of my bed.

I dropped the letter on the card table in my living room, and went to wash my face. I scrubbed, trying to get the flashing visions out of my head. I wanted to take a shower and wash the night off of me, but my feet were so tired and my eyes so heavy, I didn't think I'd made it.

I stumbled back to the kitchen for a glass of water for my dried out mouth, and the letter caught my eye again.

I threw myself down at the chair, and looked at it, spinning the bent envelop in circles on the table. With a sigh, I opened it, expecting some brightly colored ad trying to get me to buy used school books or something, but the glare of a white paper with more handwriting sent a shock to my brain, waking me up.

I unfurled the folds. It was several sheets long. My eyes focused on the small writing.

'_Darrick,_

_'I apologize for not putting a return address on the envelope, but I figured if you saw who it was from, you wouldn't open this. This is your mother.'_
