# Neytiri of the Na´Vi

My first ever contribution to Sofurry: a poem about the happenings of the Avatar-movie from the viewpoint of Neytiri. There may be a few flaws in the story, but come on, give me a break! Anyway, read and enjoy, and be sure to rate and submit a comment afterwards.

 

Note: to get the rhythm right, if that´s important to you, the word _our_ should be pronounced as a one syllable word, not two.

 

**Neytiri of the Na´Vi**

 

We met in a strange way, not that long ago.

You were new to my world, from where I did not know.

 

Your appearance were strange, oh so strange because.

You were like the others, but still so much like us.

 

You came with an order, to find our weakness.

To infiltrate my kind, and you reached great success.

 

My father took you in, as did the whole clan.

You only gained our trust, as a part of your plan.

 

But I taught you our ways, unaware of this.

And during one lesson, we two shared our first kiss.

 

Your heart fought with your brain, about what to do.

The anguish tortured you, but none of this I knew.

 

Should you follow orders, or do what was right.

The marine fought the man, you went sleepless that night.

 

Finally your heart won, you went to our side.

Since you sense of honor, was greater than your pride.

 

We two were meant to be, I became your mate.

Now you and I were one, but it was just too late.

 

The sky people attacked, to destroy us all.

But you gathered my kind, and they answered your call.

 

All clans were united, like a single pack.

We mobilized fast and, went to counterattack.

 

A great battle followed, riffle against spear.

To save the tree of souls, and all that we hold dear.

 

This war was terrible, we were overrun.

But Eywa heard our prayers, and with her help we won.

 

Many have asked me how, I could forgive you.

After you betrayed us, no Na´Vi had a clue.

 

How could I forgive you, discussions were rife.

I ask; how could I not, you´re the love of my life.
