The cold was jarring and immediate as the doors opened and let it all in.\u0026nbsp; Mr. Snibbly seemed used to it, but Bebe needed a moment to catch her breath.\u0026nbsp; The lower level on this side of the base was a metal maze leading many difference directions.\u0026nbsp; There was a workshop for automotive upkeep and repairs, and a humming sound came from another room with a large, industrial cylinder.\u0026nbsp; That must have been the base's jet fuel.\u0026nbsp; Where the two were headed, however, was the warehouse area.\n\nOnce there, Bebe saw isles and isles of boxes with dried food, frozen wet food, and non-perishables.\u0026nbsp; Snibbly pointed to a large flatbed cart and looked at Bebe.\u0026nbsp; Catching the hint, she took it and rolled it down the isle, following Snibbly to the pertinent places.\u0026nbsp; He stopped in front of some steps with wheels, looked at Bebe, and pointed to some boxes near the top.\n\n\"I see,\" she sighed.\u0026nbsp; \"Shit rolls down hill here, huh?\"\n\nSnibbly smiled when Bebe seemed to get the picture.\u0026nbsp; She got to work retrieving a box of powdered eggs all by herself.\n\n\"I don't mind if you don't talk, Snibbly.\u0026nbsp; That just means you'll keep my secrets.\"\u0026nbsp; She grunted as she lowered the box to the flatbed.\u0026nbsp; \"Bosch is a real ass.\"\n\nSnibbly tilted his head from side to side as if to weigh her assessment, and nodded in agreement.\n\n\"Also, something weird happened to me last night.\u0026nbsp; Some guy in the movie room...he...caressed me while I slept.\"\u0026nbsp; When Bebe looked up, Snibbly had a weird look on his face.\u0026nbsp; \"So we agree that that's not normal.\u0026nbsp; Trouble is, I'm not sure what to do.\u0026nbsp; If I told Cane, would he do anything about it?\u0026nbsp; He treats his job as an annoyance more than anything.\u0026nbsp; Even if he did step in, what would be done?\u0026nbsp; Would he be detained?\u0026nbsp; He's kind of already in solitary confinement if he spends all day and night in the movie room like I think he does.\"\u0026nbsp; She sighed.\u0026nbsp; \"I don't know.\u0026nbsp; He seemed so pitiful after telling me he'd finally fallen asleep after fifteen days.\u0026nbsp; He acted like I was the reason he did when I didn't do anything.\"\u0026nbsp; Bebe caught Snibbly staring at her in shock when she said that.\u0026nbsp; \"What?\"\n\nHe quickly shook his head, offered an awkward smile, and held up a box of heavy creamer.\n\n\"Ooo good eye.\"\u0026nbsp; She took it from him and added it to the cart.\u0026nbsp; \"I can't believe you guys don't do desserts.\u0026nbsp; Don't worry.\u0026nbsp; By lunch time, I'll have enough creme brulee made for the entire base.\u0026nbsp; Be right back.\"\n\nBebe jogged back the way she came to the workshop.\u0026nbsp; If the base had what she needed, it would be in there.\u0026nbsp; She had a hung that one wasn't in the kitchen.\u0026nbsp; She walked past the tools and loose metal lining the walls until she found what she was looking for.\u0026nbsp; There it was.\u0026nbsp; It wasn't exactly a culinary blow torch, but it was small enough to do the trick.\u0026nbsp; As she took it by its base, she felt her feet leave the ground.\n\n\"Woah!\"\n\n\"Are you stealing from my verkshop?\"\u0026nbsp; The wrinkled muzzle of a particularly miffed wolf was aimed directly at her.\n\n\"N-no I -- hey!\"\u0026nbsp; The stranger held her by the scruff of her neck to keep her from escaping like she wanted to.\u0026nbsp; \"Help!\u0026nbsp; Help!\u0026nbsp; Snibbly!\"\n\nBebe was relieve to see Mr. Snibbly arrive so quickly.\u0026nbsp; However, at the sight of the big brute, his expression relaxed.\n\nThe brute thrust Bebe in his direction.\u0026nbsp; \"This one is yours?\"\n\nSnibbly nodded and crossed his arms.\n\nThe brute turned Bebe toward the door.\u0026nbsp; \"Read the sign.\u0026nbsp; All tools are to be signed out.\u0026nbsp; Got it?\"\u0026nbsp; He waited for Bebe to nod vigorously before dropping her.\u0026nbsp; \"Vhat needs velding topside anyvay?\"\n\n\"Cre-cre--umm...,\" she cleared her throat, \"creme brulee.\"\n\n\"Never heard of it,\" he snorted.\u0026nbsp; His jagged teeth were inches away from Bebe as a blue eye inspected her closely.\n\nIt took everything in her to keep herself together.\u0026nbsp; \"It's a custard.\"\n\n\"Oh Yea?\u0026nbsp; Sounds lovely.\"\u0026nbsp; His mouth curled into a smile.\u0026nbsp; He couldn't help but wonder about her reaction to him, though.\u0026nbsp; \"Vhat's wrong?\u0026nbsp; Never seen a volf before?\"\n\n\"Sorry, that was rude of me.\u0026nbsp; No, I haven't.\u0026nbsp; Not up close.\"\n\n\"I guess if I were a rabbit, I'd be a little nervous, too.\u0026nbsp; Our history isn't exactly glowing.\"\n\n\"Yea...I mean...I'm Bebe.\"\u0026nbsp; She held out a hand.\n\nThe stranger gladly took it.\u0026nbsp; \"Shepherd.\u0026nbsp; I run the lower decks.\u0026nbsp; You'll have to excuse my eyesight.
