To his roommate's inquiry he replied with a noncommittal groan. ~     This response being of insufficient clarity, the squirrel came to a stop in the hall to repeat the question into the skunk's room, "I've got a date with that really chill cockatiel I told you about, from the theater.", giving the pants in his hands another strong sniff, "...how well can cockatiels smell?"
