Chapter 6: to confront the problem and amateur detectives

downtown wolf pointe , about 7PM, the winter snow covering everything

In an old fashion diner .

A grey furred wolf, Roen sits waiting on Alex , feeling like he's done this too often for his own good.

" Alex , babe, I do hope your not late." Were Roen's inner thoughts, flicking through icons on his iPhone screen, reading through a email contening notes on his most recent case,

The bell on the front door gives a jingle and cold air rushs in, and the sound of the door closing with a swish of the rubber weather seal settling back in place. Booted footpaws come towards where Roen is sitting. A paw reaching out and playing with one Of Roen's ears, the fur leading down and whispering in said ear.

"Been waiting long, hun?" the fur asks, Roen all the while trying to hold back from moaning aloud,

"Just about 10 minutes , just got off and headed over here for my hot chocolate and reading email and waiting on you." Roen replies, taking Alex's paw in his own paw getting him to stop, for now.

That case still having no leads I take it?" Alex asks, as he sits across from Roen , a footpaw finding Connor and moving him a tiny bit trying not to step on a paw or tail.

"No, not one lead or break in the case." Roen replies to Alex.....

\*\*\*\*\*\*

The speech at a annoyingly slow rate for me stops reading, as I wait for a reaction from Alex.

"Well what did you think?" I asked, the OSS Notetaker sitting on the table in front of us, Alex just about in my lap in the comfortable lobby chair at the Sage Guide and Service dog Academy lobby.

Connor was on the floor snoring away every so often giving out a whine and then a big snore.

"What with the old diner, what cop would sit in a diner to talk about a case?" Soon came Alex's reply, shifting a bit in my lap.

"Oh shut up, it happens a lot in amateur detective novels." I replied back, hugging Alex closer to me.

The lobby was all around us, when one enter on the right would be the friendly desk lady and on the left would be a few chairs and a small table covered in magazines. Straight ahead would be a hall with offices and beyond that the dorm for students . We're here to talk to Alex's mom and dad about what happen with us and Jonathan.

Alex got up from my lap and then stood up, hearing his back crack a bit as he gave a stretch, I followed along, standing as well. I heard Connor get up hearing us move, I bent down and felt for Connor's leash and took it in hand. I followed behind Alex as we walked to the inner offices where his parents lay in wait .

We made our way down the long corridors, and soon not really to my liking found the office of the chair person of the 'Sage guide and service dog Academy.' My throat got a little tighter as I heard Alex knock on the door, and heard a voice, I couldn't tell if it was a man or woman, say '"Enter" ' like they would on Star trek.

We soon entered the Chairperson's office, as the person spoke, as I heard the voice clearly for the first time. It was ALex's mother. Who spoke with love in her voice and smiles clearly in her tone as we're welcomed into the office.

"Mom this is Roen Oliver, a guy from school and my boyfriend." Alex said without even warning me he was just going to jump right in and tell a parent of his.

"Oh... Alex sweetie- that's great. I known since you were little, I just wanted you to come out when you were ready." she replied, as I heard her get up and wrap Alex in a hug.

I stood there lost as i'ver ever been, my jaw hanging open in pure surprise , dumbfounded at how to react.
