#249 of Short Stories

A fox cooks.

~ The fox leaned over from the pantry and towards the apartment's main room, "We've got black, red, turtle, kidney, somehow darker red, and lentil beans. And something called a split pea."
~ After a pause the ferret leaned out of the bathroom, damp from her shower and not yet having arranged a towel, "Beans is beans, just make sure you put brown rice in the cooker."
~ The fox nodded agreeably, out of sight, as he slipped some garlic powder into the rice cooker's gurgling bumble.
