Statements. Laws that we seem to know are true because the research hasn't said otherwise.  \nAnd we call them theories.   \nTheory of motion.   \nTheory of evolution.   \nTheory of everything.  \nSentences written by, not scholars, but scientists, and end in a period.   \nOdd to think that we, as humans, are bound by a dot when we ourselves stand more like an exclamation.  \nAn opinion.   \nA shout.   \nA voice.  \nNo matter the height difference, we stand tall.   \nAnd despite the periods we find ourselves living by, we still find ways to curl up at night into a question.  \nA thought.   \nA concern.   \nAn idea.  \nWe rebel against the statements, because in our heads we have the audacity to take the periods, and curl them at the top.  \nAnd that gives us power.   \nIt gives us the power to dream.  \nTo explore.  \nTo grow.  \nAnd suddenly those periods don't hold as much meaning. Those laws we shackle ourselves to willingly at birth, become irrelevant.  \nAnd the only statement that holds meaning: I should know not to know.  \nNot to know the answers.  \nNot to know all truths.  \nNot to know everything.  \nWe take an ethereal step back from our little blue dot, and we look around at the sea of periods around us, and then the space in between.  \nThespacethatdoesntseemtoholdmuchmeaningbutwhentakenoutoftheequationcauseschaos.  \nWe stare at the empty space, and find meaning.  \nWe take our metaphysical dreams and connect the dots, filling that empty space with hope.  \nHope for more.  \nHope for guidance.  \nHope for ourselves.  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Poetry","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/1635710-defining-moment.json"}}
