Loyalty, kindness, and warmth were always to follow a bond between man and dog.

So when man decided to begin mating with their companions, soon enough the Anthros came to be.

With a build of a human, fur covering them from their pointed ears to their hind paws, elongated maws, and long tails. The Anthros were accepted into the world with open arms; still living under the humans.

The new species were able to talk, tend to their master's homes, some bared talents in music, acting, and were brought into work force as their masters saw fit.

After a few decades however; They begun to demand their own rights.

It began with marches, picketing signs for their rights to equality. Demanding that as intelligent and conscious beings, they no long be forced to live in servitude due to their ancestors.

They were ignored, and the riots soon followed.

Many cities burned, many brawls were had, and constant blood was spilt. The world was slowly seeing civil wars over the continents, and there was only one thing the government could do to put an end to the pointless carnage.

_Any Anthro wishing to stay among the humans as their loyal companions may, otherwise the anthros wishing for their own rights and lives are to live among the trees in the forests. Free from their owners, but also from our infrastructure, our medicine, and our technology. If they want to throw away the bonds we have shared for centuries, then they will get no help from us!_

                  -President Thornier

                  -2387

The freedom Seakers left, leaving behind families who would mourn and miss; while the others stood with their families, not able to break the ties they had made with their human companions.

Things got dark from then on.

After what seemed like a year of peace, the humans found themselves on the brink of war. Cities were attacked, and many beings lost their lives.

Though with the disadvantage of outdated weapons, the Freedom seekers lost their own war. retreating to their forests, with a waning of extinction if they ever tried again.

After many years, the companion numbers began to dwindle. Companion Canines were harder to find, and ones that were, were too expensive for most.

Humanity tried breeding programs, legalized private breeding, and even offered certain rewards for Companions to mate.

Though with the numbers left, it was impossible. The Companions would have been extinct with in the Decade.

It was then the Freedom Seekers returned from their forest.

The leaders met - sitting together, talking for days. Fights were started and ended, a death threat swapped here and there, but soon. An agreement was made.

In exchange for all orphaned pups, the freedom Canines were welcome to go to school, learn how to build, farm, and grow as a species.

Many found this to be unfair trade, that the 'dogs' were getting to much for so little. Though, the new president was nothing like the old one.

_These Canines are not the enemy. They are not below us, and we are not better than them. They are our brothers and sisters and they deserve to be treated as such. They have said they do not wish to move from their lands, and we will not force them out. Though accommodations will be made for those who wish to learn._

_With this new millennia, let us welcome a new peace and share in the gift of sharing our Orphaned young!_

     -President Carmon.

     -2400

The two sides settled down, though some did not agree with the treaty.

There were few rallies, few hate crimes, and executions to follow; but after a few generations the world quieted down.

Rules were set, laws put in place, and soon enough, the world found their peace.

_If a Human or Anthro becomes an orphan (or given up by the choice of their parents), then said child will be put into the companion services, were they will live their days in servitude._

_ _

_If at the age of eighteen, a Human or Anthro may choose to be put into the companion program. They will be put into servitude for a trial of no little than Four Years and more then Eight. At the end of their Trial, they will be given the option to stay as a Companion for the remainder of their life, or to join their own society once more._

_ _

_If a Human or Anthro chooses to go through the Trial, they will be compensated at a rate deemed acceptable by a committee. The payment will only be accessible to them once they complete their years, with NO crimes or serious neglect of their duties._

_ _

_If by unfortunate circumstances the being can no longer continue. His case will be overlooked and they are deemed not at fault, they will take full compensation and be allowed to choose to either move to a new family to continue, or go back to their life before._

_ _

Some believed the rules were unfair, that orphans shouldn't be shoved into CompCare due to an accident. Though the leaders of the Anthros only believed it fair that if they had to give up all their unwanted, then so should the humans.

With everything good in the world, there was those who abused it. And as hard as the government tried to prevent it - sometimes things would slip through their fingers.
