Despite the chilling atmosphere of an early-winter day, he was feeling feverish... but in a good way. Images of the previous night particularly the faces of his father and his boyfriend, Connor Stark filled his mind. As he opened his eyes and regarded the quietly slumbering figure his lover resting on his chest, he reiterated his vow to never allow anything to hurt his tiger.

Connors eyes peeled opened slowly and he yawned, curling his tongue and shaking his head. Those perfect emeralds that he used as eyes slowly travelled up Jason's defined chest before stopping directly in line with Jason's eyes.

Their noses met, bringing a smile from Jason.

"Morning..." the wolf whispered.

"Morning, big wolf," Connor chuckled, poking Jason's nose and pushing him away slightly. "How long have you been watching me sleep?"

"A while."

The tiger glanced around and frowned slightly. "Hey... where's your dad?"

"He had to leave. Told me he was going to file Robin's transfer papers today before coming back to bring us to the State Fair."

"The Fair..." Connor sighed dramatically. He leaned back into Jason's chest, looking up at the wolf slyly. "I was hoping we'd just stay at home. You know, keep each other warm?"

The grin that followed was all too natural. It had been a while since Jason had managed such a genuine smile and he realised he missed the feeling. "Aw, but then we wouldn't get to go on some rides." He wrapped his arms around Connor, pulling the tiger closer to him and bringing a light squeal. "Then again I could always ride _you_..."

Connor laughed and spun around so that they were facing one another. Jason made an effort to make sure their noses were touching again. The gesture was like having two pieces of a puzzle fit perfectly together.

"You really like touching noses, huh?" Connor asked. Despite his words, he didn't pull away.

"I'm canine. I like sticking my noses into things."

With cat-like grace, Connor slipped off Jason and stood up. "Well, stick your nose into this: Get ready to go. I wanna get to the Fair before the lines get too long."

Rolling onto his side, Jason patted the cum-covered bed invitingly. "What happened to staying at home and keeping each other warm?"

Connor threw him a sly grin. "What better place to keep warm than at the State Fair? Plenty of dark, private places and I thought you liked getting caught in public, big wolf?"

The tiger sauntered off, swinging his hips invitingly and throwing Jason one last wink before he headed for the shower. Jason sighed softly and wondered how he could ever be so lucky to have such a great though highly troubled boyfriend. Not to mention a smoking-hot dad with ultra-sensitive nipples.

That made him wonder what other part of Dan was sensitive...

"You _have_ to know it is too good to be true, right?"

Jason snarled and sat up.

Standing at the foot of the bed was an ethereal, hovering woman with a black, expressionless mask hovering in front of her face. Wispy, billowing silver hair as long as she was tall swept out from behind her. Her entire body was wrapped in white, almost crystal-like cloth that was just as transparent as she was. Jason could see right through her and to where Connor's bag sat on the opposite wall.

I5 the Ingenious and the No One who governed the Soul.

"Thanks for spoiling to for me," Jason muttered, pulling the bed sheets around himself. "What? Is the world going to end?"

"Unfortunately... we are unsure."

He went rigid... and not in the good way.

If the No Ones - the gods of existence - didn't know...

Then it was bad.

"What do you mean youre unsure? You're the gods!"

"No," I5 corrected, lifting a delicate and impossibly long finger. They looked more like really long and sharp nails than fingers. "We are mortals, just as you, but we exist in all realities and none at the same time."

"Right... You mind just getting to the point? I'd rather not have you mess up the memories of the best sex of my life with your psychobabble."

"Very well." I5 nodded. "Have you seen F6?"

_Again with that question..._

Jason was starting to worry.

T13 had asked him yesterday if he had seen F6... T13 was the Traveller of Time and supposedly that particular No One was 'omniscient'. If he didn't know... and I5 didn't know.... I5 was known as the 'ultimate judge' since she could look into peoples souls and understand their true nature. Just the thought of her and T13 being incapable of finding F6...

"Why is F6 missing got you guys so worried?" he asked softly though he already guessed at the answer.

"He is a No One, Jason. An entity capable of controlling the physical forms of all matter. He is very powerful and the idea that he is missing has caught us somewhat off-guard. Additionally, with the rise of the Malefactors, we have started to suspect that perhaps F6 has taken it unto himself to destroy this reality."

"What!?" Jason shot to his feet, leaving the sheets behind but he didnt care about his exposed body.

"We No Ones have been debating greatly about the continued existence of this reality," I5 explained, her distant, musical voice marred with worry. "Many No Ones feel that there are far too many people obtaining god-complexes and powers beyond their reach and understanding. We fear that there will come a time when a certain individual will perform an act that will unbalance the entire fabric of this worlds existence and thus destroy you all. Whether it be accidental or deliberate is besides the point.

"R3 constantly insists that despite the numerous possibilities of such an event occurring as decreed by T13, there are still possibilities that your existence continues unhindered. However, as time progresses, those possibilities wane and the risk of utter annihilation grows. Many No Ones, particularly D8 the Derelict, is demanding a rewrite of the realitys laws, demanding R3 deprive you all of your superpowers to stabilise the reality."

Thinking of the malicious way Robin used her powers and just how many people monopolised on superpowers, Jason couldn't see what was wrong with D8s suggestion. But, he guessed that the No Ones didn't want to act so hastily. Judging the entire world for the actions of a few was hardly fair to everyone else.

There _were_ some superheroes out there who werent selfish, greed bastards...

"F6 was most involved with this reality before it attracted our collective attention," I5 continued, waving her hands expressively. "F6 has always been a little emotional and instinctive. We are concerned that, in his haste to ensure the continued existence of this reality, he has unleashed the Malefactors to cleanse you all."

"How is releasing the epitome of all mortal evils a way to cleanse us?" Jason asked incredulously.

"Put simply, the Malefactors will consume all in their darkness and eventually placing everyone on an even playing field. Once that is achieved, evil becomes the new good."

"What?"

"A man who is evil does not see himself at evil. Evil is a subjective term given to someone who performs acts of a detrimental nature to another. Pick up an apple and devour it and you deprive another man of that apple, thus bearing the brand of evil in that mans eyes. Good is similarly subjective.

"If the Malefactors consume the world, there will be no evil. It will simply be their law and that will be good."

"So let me get this straight," Jason said, inclining his head to the side in his typical look of canine confusion, "because everyone becomes evil, no one is evil and they become good instead?"

"Precisely."

"That's messed up."

"It is simply the same with modern warfare," I5 answered, waving her hand absently. "An occupying force is seen as evil by the civilian population but once that force wins, they become the new law and order. Eventually, the population grows to accept their conquerors."

Thinking back to H2's description of the Malefactors, Jason realised just how bad a world consumed by those dark creatures would be like. It was even a little more daunting knowing that a No One was controlling them. There was an ingrained image of the No Ones being benevolent beings in his mind and he could never imagine them doing something destructive. Even the jokes from some of the No Ones about their destructive escapades were dismissed by Jason as just that, jokes.

But now that he thought about it...

... The No Ones just protected existence. They didn't care who existed... as long as someone did exist...

That made him feel a little cold.

"I saw F6 a little while ago," Jason admitted with a shrug. "About four weeks ago before my dad arrived. All he really did was say 'hi' and ask me about my dad. I guess he already knew what was going to happen..."

"Indeed..." I5 seemed really worried. "Jason, I will warn you that should you encounter F6 do not attempt to talk him down or challenge him. You have no idea what a No One is capable of especially one as powerful as F6."

There was that cold feeling again.

"Alright... But if I do see him, what do I do?"

"Placate him as best you can. Then, when you next see one of us, report it. We will track him as much as possible."

"Can't you guys just keep watching me?"

He sensed I5 was smiling at him. "A teenage boy is willingly sacrificing his privacy? The world truly is changing." She bowed towards him. "I bid you a good day, Jason. But before I leave..."

That black mask on her face suddenly opened and Jason leapt back in horror when he realised the mask was actually a big eye. A big, vertical eye with a red iris!

_Damn that's creepy..._

"Connor has a very good soul. You chose well."

The door opened and Connor stepped back in, dripping wet. Jason glanced back to where I5 had been but the No One was gone.

"Hey," the tiger laughed. "Sorry, I forgot my clothes in here and I only remembered halfway through my shower. I didn't even have a towel..."

"You could've used one of ours," Jason offered, feeling a smile crawl onto his face and the memory of I5's conversation quickly fading.

"I took a shower to get _rid_ of your scent, Jase."

\\*\\*\\*\\*

Jason had never been that excited to go to the State Fair and this was no exception. Part of him felt like a kid again especially since Connor was strolling through the avenue flanked by colourful stands and with the scent of deep fried food wafting through the air. But that kid would always rapidly grow up into a raging adult when he remembered Robin Clearwater was sweeping haughtily across the grass of Newroads Park with that white umbrella of hers.

It has seriously killed his mood when his dad arrived back at home with Robin in tow, announcing that she would be joining them on their trip to the Fair. Connor seemed to take it in stride. Jason was just glad he hadn't prepared enough pancakes for all four of them.

"Jason, did you want some hotdogs?" Dan asked, trying to break the awkwardness.

"No thanks."

He seriously considered making some lewd comment at that point to aggravate Robin. It became fairly obvious that she was annoyed he could get a climax out of Connor and she couldn't. Reason, however, stated that if they were going to be forced to stick around with one another, he should extend the olive branch of friendship... even if she was just going to burn it. At least he tried and he could justify the various, creative ways hed torture her later.

They entered the games section of the Fair. Even though it was fairly early in the morning, there were already a good crowd around the Bumper Cars, Ferris Wheel and various rides.

"Come one, come all!" an osprey shouted from a small podium with a megaphone to his beak. "Come test your strength! See which superhero you match up against! Get a limited edition collectors card for the superhero you reach!"

Jason inclined his head and watched a rather porcine bull grin viciously as he told his human son to stand back and watch his old man win him a 'Negative X Card'. It was one of those test your strength type games with a large, vertical bar which a metal cylinder - an anvil, he thought it was called - would run up after the player hit one end of a plank. Various superhero names and their caricatures in heroic poses were drawn along the side of the bar.

Among them were Warhorse, MegaMonkey, Max Muscle and Weapon Woman. At the very bottom were the words Civilian. Jason was a little surprised to find the Blue Wolf there as well. Most of the superheroes were all physical-based heroes, using their strength or physical prowess more than anything to win the day. The Blue Wolf was more balanced, using intellect, agility and strength to defeat his foes.

You had to be pretty smart to handle a shape-shifting weapon and to be able to use that weapon deftly and fluidly.

There was a little shame that struck Jason as he realised that of all the superheroes, he actually didn't mind the Blue Wolf.

The big bull picked up the hammer and hit the plank, sending the iron cylinder about halfway up to Strongman. It was fairly impressive.

"Heh, I'll get you a card, Jason," Dan said, rolling up the sleeves of his turtleneck. Jason watched those rippling muscles slip out from beneath that thick, woollen garment and felt his groin stir.

Someone grasped his arm gently. "Breathe, Jason," Connor whispered in his ear.

Jason reminded himself how to live and grinned a little sheepishly.

Dan paid the osprey and picked up the hammer. A lot of people started whispering as they saw the bulging muscles on the big, black wolf.

_And he's my dad!_

_Wow... I'm actually proud of my dad..._

_Been a big week..._

Dan gave a loud grunt as he swung the hammer down, reminding Jason of another occasion when his father had grunted like that...

WHAM!

Thunder was put to shame as the impact sent the iron cylinder shooting up the vertical scale and hovered precariously at the Blue Wolf which was about sixth from the top just below Warhorse.

"Yeah!" Jason cried, pumping a fist into the air. "You go, dad!" Robin scoffed and he glared at her. "What? I can't be proud of my dad?"

"Be as proud as you wish," she answered coldly. "He would never have won that game."

"Are you calling my dad weak?" he growled, his hackles rising. Connor was gripping his arm tightly and saying something but he wasn't listening.

"No. Your father is very strong. Certainly strong enough to have won that game if it were set on an even playing field."

The anger faded.

"Huh?"

Robin nodded towards the vendor as Dan collected his prize. "The game is rigged. Firstly, there is no such thing as a 'Negative X Card'. It was deemed a security risk for Reprieve to release the statistics of the powerful superhero and no card was ever produced. Furthermore, when the anvil rose, it was progressing at an incredible speed before abruptly stopping at the Blue Wolf."

"I didn't even notice that..." Connor murmured.

"The game and the tower is designed in such a way that you will be forced to squint or have excellent vision to see the end result the higher your progress. That is why the bell is there. It is used to signify if and when a person wins on sound alone instead of visual cues."

_The bell_ is _pretty high..._

Connor leaned over Jason. "Aren't you being a little cynical?"

"A civilian such as yourself wont understand the capabilities of a super such as myself," Robin answered, smirking slightly. "Even without our powers, we possess increased speed, strength, agility and senses that far out way the average human or Animarian. I could see that result very easily."

_Bitch..._

"So you got ultra-sensitive hearing then, huh?" he challenged. "Well then..." He mouthed 'fuck you' and Robin merely rolled her eyes and watched as Dan returned triumphant with a Blue Wolf Card.

"Here you go, son! The Blue Wolf! Your favourite superhero!"

"That's 'cuz hes the only half-decent superhero," Jason answered, taking the card and smiling.

On the front was a holographic image of the Blue Wolf posing heroically with one hand on his hip and the other over his shoulder, clutching that golden briefcase of his. Naturally, his features were hidden by that mask he wore which had an ivory horn jutting out from his forehead. Many theorised the horn was actually part of the Blue Wolf and not the mask.

On the rear of the card was an in-depth explanation of the Blue Wolfs powers, statistics, most heroic deeds and arch nemesis.

"So Dan," Connor began, smiling lewdly, "I liked the way you swung that hammer."

Dan blushed and rubbed the back of his neck that same nervous gesture that both he and Jason shared. At the same instant, Jason glanced up from the Blue Wolf's picture of the card to see his fathers response.

_Wait a second..._

He glanced back at the card... then back at his father...

The pose was almost exactly the same...

_No way... My dad can't be..._

But his mind was running away from him. He imagined what it would be like if his father had wings, wore some tight-fitting, blue, leather armour, a mask with a horn on it and carried a... a... a...

An atomic bomb dropped somewhere in the middle of his brain and when it detonated, the mushroom cloud was conveniently shaped like the word 'REALISATION'.

Dan's briefcase was gold-plated.

_Oh my god..._

Jason suddenly broke into a shaky grin. "Hey dad! I could go for those hotdogs right about now!"

Everyone gave him a strange look. He was only vaguely aware that his voice had raised an octave or two.

"Um... Alright," Dan replied, looking caught between worry and suspicion. "I'll be right back."

Once the big wolf was gone, he grabbed both Connor and Robin yes, Robin too and yanked them between two vendors so that they were all out of sight.

"You must have a very good reason for this, dog," Robin sneered, giving him an icy stare and yanking her arm away.

"Not that you _care_," Jason snarled back, "but my dad is the Blue Wolf."

Her eyebrows shot up and her frozen face actually broke into a bright, laugh. While that laugh was _mocking_ him, it actually suited her fairly well.

"You must be joking!" she giggled. "Your father works for the CGID, the Central Gifted Intelligence Department. _No one_ in the CGID is allowed to have superpowers. It was a controversial move several decades ago and was branded as racist until the United Governing Bodies decided that it was a way of keeping everyone in the CGID impartial and keeping any potential supervillains from using the information to their advantage. They have scanners at every door to detect if youre a super or not!

"Your father could never get through the front door if he was the Blue Wolf."

"Well - " Jason stopped himself. He had this big spiel about how all the evidence piled up and a reserve of insults against Robin ready. That all went down the drain. "My dad works for the CGID?"

The CGID was the civilian response to the Reprieve. People grew conscious that there was a congregation of superheroes hovering above their heads in an orbital space station. While civilians were allowed on the Reprieve, it was only under strict guard and a lot of conspiracy theorists believed the superheroes were plotting a purge of the planet so that only the gifted were allowed to live.

The United Governing Bodies decided to formally invite the Reprieve into their ranks and with them, they formed the Central Gifted Intelligence Department. The CGID worked to keep supers in check and ensure that their actions were never detrimental to society. Essentially, a security system for the security system.

Their intelligence was second to none. Not even the mind readers or fortune tellers on the Justice Guard could match them. Countless supervillains were stopped before their world-domination plots got off the ground because of the CGID.

"Do you honestly think he would've abandoned his son for ten years for anything less?" Robin replied, clearly enjoying watching Jason squirm. "I am unsure about the details, Jason, but I think it was clear that the CGID had you flagged as a potential super."

"What? Me?"

He remembered hearing something similar from the school councillor.

"I'm sure youve noticed it," Robin replied dismissively. "Abnormally rapid muscle growth. Increased strength, agility and maybe even..." She shamelessly appraised him. "Endurance. You are also unnaturally tall."

"My dad is taller."

"Perhaps but it has been determined he does not have powers, yes?" She began examining her nails. "Scientists believe that superpowers are a recessive gene. While they may cause some degree of mutation by way of outward appearance, they can remain inactive in a carrier for many years and only manifest in their offspring. It is clear you are showing signs."

Jason gulped loudly and took a step back. "I- I am?"

"Must I repeat myself?" she answered, rolling her eyes.

"You did bulk up real quickly over the summer, Jase," Connor admitted, grinning a little sheepishly. He knew how much Jason _hated_ the sheer idea of becoming a superhero but there was no denying this.

"I also did my research," Robin continued, returning to her nails. "You saved your classmates once before from a school shooting. Are you telling me that you acted with no supernatural advantages while full grown adults merely cowered and were paralysed?"

The same excuse he had given time and again when asked about that event came tumbling out but only about halfway. "I ran in a gang and -" Now that he thought about it, that was actually a poor excuse.

What would running with a gang for a short while have anything to do with tackling a raging teenage gunman, subduing the guy and eventually rescuing an entire school?

His heart began plummeting... fast.

"I also read that part of your file," Robin answered. "It seems you had the common sense to escape a life of crime early."

"Why the hell were you poking around in my file?" Jason snarled, looming over her and baring his fangs.

"For the same reason I outed Connor." She glared back at him. "You are a super, Jason Wolfe. It is time you embraced that."

"I don't even have any powers!"

Robin didn't relent. "Super-strength, perhaps? Did you not break down your door? Your powers will manifest themselves slowly at first but the more you use them, the more they will grow."

"What if I don't want them to grow!?" he growled.

Connor stepped in between them and pushed the two apart. "Stop this! Both of you!" He glared at Robin. "Look, you made the mistake of making assumptions before and ruined my life. Dan told you not to do that again so don't go pushing Jason to do anything he doesnt want to." Then he turned to Jason. "I think we already know you don't wanna go flying around in spandex, Jase. But it doesn't help to lie to yourself. You'll do a better job of hiding you're a super if you admit youre one."

"I am not a super!" Jason roared.

Dan stepped into the small corridor. "Who's not what now?"

Everyone froze... Well, except Robin. She was always frozen.

Jason's mind welt blank except for one word...

Busted

 "I- I- I-" he stammered.

"Jason thinks you are the Blue Wolf," Robin interjected.

_Damn you, Clearwater!_

Dan's eyebrows shot up and he instantly burst into a riot of laughter. He nearly dropped the four hotdogs he held in his hand as he nearly collapsed from the laughter. For some reason, all that laughter wasn't helping to make Jason feel any better.

"Me?" Dan chortled, straightening and wiping tears from his eyes. "The Blue Wolf? Oh god, Jase, you have got one hell of an imagination." He stopped to let out a couple more chuckles. "Whatever made you come to that conclusion?"

_Well..._

It was time for that spiel.

Jason placed all his evidence before the group. The fact that both his father and the Blue Wolf were the same height, same build and even appeared to have the same facial structure at least as much as Jason could gather from behind the Blue Wolfs mask. There was also the gold-plated briefcase.

"Several things wrong with that, Jason," Dan said, clearly amused. He held up a finger. "Firstly, I am nowhere near as young as the Blue Wolf. He only started showing up... The big wolf glanced to the side as he mulled over the dates. ... About when you were born. I think a year or two after. Not sure. It's hard with superheroes since they usually start small and try not to get that much attention... at first. And I'm flattered you think I look like that hunk of wolf but lets face it, I'm a lot older."

That was true... The Blue Wolf didn't have greying temples...

"And lastly, that gold-plated briefcase? I've had it for a while, Jason. Your mother gave it to me when I started working. You played with it often, calling it 'shiny'." Dan grinned at the memory. "You actually wouldn't let me near it. I still have the bite marks from when I tried to get it from you."

_Okay... that's embarrassing..._

Jason sank, trying to make himself smaller and as invisible as he could. There was some distant hope that Robin would sense this and avert everyones attention but there was no such luck. Dan just kept grinning, Robin looked smug and even Connor was giving him this patronising smile that made him feel infinitely miniscule.

"Don't let it mess with you, okay?" Dan said, ruffling his hair. "A lot of things have happened and I suppose you'd want something or someone to counter Robin's presence." He gave Robin a critical look.

"I have been on my best behaviour," Robin answered, raising a hand in a solemn vow.

"Which really isn't that much," Connor added with a smirk. She lifted her nose at him but didnt reply.

Handing them their hotdogs, Dan said, "Come on, you three. Lets hit some rides before we see the main attraction."

Jason regarded his father curiously. "'The main attraction'?"

"Yeah," his father replied with a big grin on his face. He didn't like that grin. "It's a superhero matinee. Some private documentaries and some pretty revealing movies about certain heroes."

Revulsion instantly filled him. "_Daaad_! You know I hate superheroes."

Dan leaned forward, grinning from ear to ear. "Bet you didn't hate them when you thought _I_ was the Blue Wolf, were you? Hell..." His father reached over and poked his nose playfully."... I bet you were getting excited over the thought that you may just have had sex with a world-renowned superhero."

...

_Damnit!_

Thus, the last few minutes came back to haunt him and he conceded to going to the matinee after going through some rides.

Despite spending about thirty minutes on the actual rides and about three hours waiting in line, Jason was not at all bothered. The three parts of his brain were starting to argue again, self-analysing themselves and Jason as a whole.

The topic: his aversion to superheroes.

_I've always been special... I think I already knew that..._

_Not only can I talk to the gods but I am slightly stronger than everyone else... getting stronger as the years go by..._

He actually recalled an instant where he beat Warren who had dropped out from high school and joined the army reserves. They were arm wrestling and despite Warren's biceps being twice as big as Jason's, the wolf won. The red-scaled dragon was dumbstruck. Jason gave it off to a better leverage but now he wondered if it was actually something... _more._

The pessimist in him started speaking up.

_"Don't be stupid._

_"First of all, all superheroes start off nerdy and then start getting better at all sports all of the sudden!_

_"Secondly, all male superheroes are in to football, not soccer. It's_ always _football for some reason._

_"Lastly, no superhero is_ gay_."_

Jason winced at the last one as his hormonal side began talking.

_"That's true. Wearing all that tight-fitting spandex and being around each other won't really help them if they liked men._

_"Just imagine popping a boner when your arch nemesis shows up and looked as sexy as ever!_

_"Wouldn't it be totally hot if all superhero/villain battles were resolved through sex?_

_"The guy on top wins!"_

Jason shook his head free of the thought just as the optimist and the pessimist both shoved the horndog into an iron cage, shut the door and kicked the cage into the dark recesses of his mind. Unfortunately, both of them knew the horndog would be back. If anything about Jason was super, it would be his libido...

In fact, now that he thought about it, Robin said something about superheroes powers developing faster the more they were used.

Jason had been getting a lot of _action_ lately and that hormonal part of him was only getting stronger...

_Oh great..._ he thought bitterly. _My superpower is that I'm super horny..._

As the day passed and Dan lead their small party into the main tent for the matinee, the optimist in Jason spoke up.

_"Look, didn't things turn out for the better when you admitted to yourself that you were gay?_

_"The evidence is piling up and its pretty obvious that you're getting to the point where you really_ do _have powers... whatever they may be._

_"Wouldn't it be better if you just admitted it like Robin said?_

_"It's entirely possible that this whole aversion to superheroes thing is just your way of denying you have powers._

_"... or are you just afraid of admitting it because Robin was the one that told you_?"

Jason thought about that a moment.

_I hate you sometimes._

The optimist in him just grinned and leaned casually on the shoulder of the pessimist who shrugged absently. It kind of scared him that the three separate parts of his brain now had their own personalities and he could actually see them on his shoulders. Not exactly the classical 'shoulder angel' or 'shoulder devil' since they all looked the same but he had this sneaking suspicion, someday soon, all three sides will start looking different.

The pessimist whistled at him suddenly and pointed at the ground.

He glanced down.

There was a metal pipe sitting just by his feet with a small note sitting on top. Glancing around, he noticed he had wandered off from the rest of the party in his musings. With a shrug, he picked up the note.

It read, 'Conveniently placed metal pipe.'

Jason rolled his eyes and tucked the piece of paper into his jeans. He picked up the pipe and held it in both hands. It was thick and sturdy. No ordinary person would be able to bend it without help from a machine or a tool.

_"You have a tool,"_ the horndog shouted. _"It's in your pants!"_

"Shut him up, will you?" Jason growled and the remaining two parts of his brain dove into the recesses of his brain. There were a few cries of pain and some cartoon-like sounds going on but Jason ignored them.

"Alright," he whispered to himself. "If I can bend this pipe... I've got superpowers... If not... Robin is just crazy and I can put this all behind me."

Taking a deep breath he -

"Jason!"

A yelp leapt out of his lips as he spun around and hid the pipe behind his back. Dan was standing a few metres away gesturing at him.

"Come on, son! It's about to start!"

"R- Right! C- Coming!"

Jason tossed the metal pipe away and ran to his father.

He never noticed the indentations his hands had made around the pipe or the fact that the pipe was embedded halfway into a nearby wooden stand.

Connor had found them seats in the mini-theatre at the rear of the massive red and white tent. There was a screen positioned on a broad, wooden stage with lights and multiple projects set up. Small, plastic seats were arranged in roughly the same arrangement as a theatre without the elevation. Unfortunately, that meant that the giraffe in front of Jason blocked his view.

_Great..._

"Do you think we can move?" he whispered to Connor as the movie started.

"I quite like it here," Robin replied smugly.

"I can't see."

"That is why I like it here."

He growled at her but was quickly told to fall quiet by the guys in front of them.

Jason sighed and slouched in his seat as the movie started. He wasnt able to see the screen anyway so he decided he might as well start counting the stitches in the tent. Or maybe watch the grass grow. He was vaguely aware of the sounds from the movie but without the visual aids, he was a little lost.

As with any superhero feature, it always started with Negative X. The saviour of gifted kind had to always be mentioned. It was almost like he was a god to all the gifted. Jason couldn't bring himself to worship someone like that... not when he knew there were real gods out there.

A soft sigh escaped his lips as he watched the shadows play across the tent from the screen.

His mind began slipping back to the possibilities of being a superhero and he vaguely wondered what kind of costume he'd wear... or what alias he would adopt. It would all depend on his power... if any. Some cynical part of him wondered if 'Horndog' was taken. The hormonal part of his brain was about to speak up about that but the two others halves silenced him.

Suddenly, Jason became aware of something crawling down his left thigh.

_Gah! Spider!_

He hated spiders.

More so than superheroes.

He glanced down...

... his three subconscious parts glanced down with him.

It wasn't a spider.

It was Connor's right hand walking nonchalantly down his leg.

Jason glanced at Connor... as did the three parts of his brain. Connor had his eyes planted firmly on the screen but there was this knowing smirk on his face that formed a pit in Jason's stomach but caused his heart to leapt up to his throat.

"C- Connor...?"

He was told to shut up.

The situation came crashing down on him.

If he said something, the people in front of them would turn around and see Connor not-so-subtly trying to feel him up.

If he didn't say anything...

... well...

He focused on Connor, praying that his superpower was telepathy or some variant of that power.

_"N No,"_ his mind screamed. _"We'll get caught! Connor I-"_

All thoughts were suddenly cut short as Connor's deft fingers unbuttoned his pants.

_Oh god!_

_"Why don't you just swat him away, you big dummy!?"_ Pessimist shouted.

_"Duh! He's his boyfriend!"_ Optimist countered. _"You don't do that to your boyfriend!"_

_"Woo!"_ Horndog cried, throwing his hands into the air. "_Handjob!"_

Connor reached down onto Jason's boxers and freed the monster kept within. Jason felt the blood rush into his groin and his breathing became terribly rapid. For some reason he really couldn't fathom, the fact that Connor was doing this all with one hand and supposedly paying attention to the movie just turned him on even more.

_"Whoa... Is this some sort of reflex reaction?"_ Pessimist asked, leaning forward and examining Connors hand. _"I mean... does he even know hes doing that?"_

Connor licked his lips.

_"Yep. He knows,"_ Optimist sighed. He patted Jasons cheek. _"Sorry, youre on your own, buddy."_

_Wait!_

Pessimist grabbed Horndog who was salivating as Connor's hand gently stroked Jason's meat. _"Come on. Lets leave the tiger to play with the wolf's bone."_

_"Awww! But I wanna watch!"_

The three of them vanished as Jason's mind just went blank.

_Focus on the movie! Focus on the movie!_

Too bad he couldn't see the movie!

_Aw crap!_

He gasped as Connor's pawn wrapped around his glands and squeezed tight. No one silenced him this time. Connor's paw felt so warm and so soft that Jason was painfully reminded of what it was like to be inside the tiger. His mind reeled at the memory and he felt his erection start reliving the moment. Pre-cum began seeping all over Connors hand, soaking into his fur while causing a soft, squishing sound to fill Jasons ears with ever lap that expert hand made over his cock.

The tent felt very small and very hot. Jason started panting and his fingers wrapped around the armrest of his small chair, his claws scratching the metal surface.

Suddenly, Robin leapt out of her seat right next to Jason and left the tent in a huff, muttering something about 'boys'.

Jason had completely forgotten about her!

_Oh damn... I..._

As louder gasp escaped him and he was told to be quiet, a little harsher this time. He knew whoever was silencing him was on the verge of coming over and finding him with his pants halfway down his leg and his nine inch cock bobbing in the air. Connor would probably just grin and bear it, probably quietly inviting whoever came over to join in.

The thoughts of another person joining them just made Jason whimper.

_Crap... Crap... I... I can't_

He gasp

Warm, familiar lips suddenly closed in around his and that gasp echoed silently into his fathers throat. Jason's eyes boggled as Dan held his head tightly, massive, muscular arms wrapped around his neck. He wasnt sure if he was screaming or crying out in ecstasy but every noise Jason made just disappeared down his fathers muzzle. Dan ran his tongue all over the inside of Jason's muzzle and coaxing it's partner to start dancing along with it.

_Aw, to hell with it._

Jason shut his eyes and wrapped his arms around his fathers massive frame, utterly surprised that he couldnt wrap them the entire way. His left hand reached over his fathers neck, holding them closer together.

Connor increased his pace, demanding more attention.

Jason felt his knot start to form and he moaned loudly, so loud in fact that it escaped as a muffled cry into the tent.

"Oh thats it!" someone growled.

The giraffe flung around...

... and his eyes widened.

Jason froze... staring right back into the giraffes eyes, feeling he was about to become roadkill. Connor didn't stop and Dan didn't relent either. There was no faking that either of the two were women that were molesting the same boy. Connors shorts were tended and the muscular frame of Dan was clearly masculine.

And Jason... Yeah, the nine inch penis was a dead giveaway.

Busted.

The giraffe just sighed and turned back around.

"What is it, dear?" someone asked.

"Nothing. Just a bunch of kids."

Connor suddenly gave Jason's cock a tight squeeze.

Jason arched his back and held back a cry as best as he could. A soft whimper travelled down Dans throat as Jason shot his load all over his shirt. Three bursts sent semen splattering all over his chest as well as racking shudders all over his body.

Dan pulled away, hovering over him with a sly smile on his face. His father licked Jasons nose lovingly before wiping every pool of cum on Jasons chest up with his massive paw. With the collected semen in hand, Dan licked it all up and gave his son that same, sly grin.

"Better than any hotdog I've ever had," he whispered and kissed Jason one more time before returning to the matinee.

There was small burst of semen from that comment alone.

Connor, in the meantime, slipped Jasons pants up.

The matinee finished a short while later with Jason still stunned. He walked out of the tent stiffly, unable to look at Connor or his father in the eye. What truly scared him was that it seemed both Connor and Dan were working together on that little escapade. They were just moving too well in synch!

Had they planned that?

Or were they just so good at what they did that they could sense each others intentions?

Jason suddenly felt like a child again.

Robin was waiting for them, her face completely expressionless.

"I trust you found your... release?" she asked coolly.

"At least _one_ of us did," Connor answered, winking at Jason.

\\*\\*\\*\\*

The trip back home was wrought with silence though the smile on Dan and Connor's faces just kept Jason in a permanent state of blushing. Despite his jet-black fur, Jason was pretty darn sure his entire face was tomato-red by the time he stepped through the front door.

"Jason," Dan said, hanging up his coat, "can you put this in my room?" He handed Jason a sleek, black PDA. "Connor and I will prepare dinner for once."

Jason let out a small 'meep'.

"They're plotting something!"

The thoughts, 'they're going to have me for dinner' screamed in his mind and he bolted up the stairs as fast as he could. Laughter followed him up but he ignored them, wondering if he could survive a two storey drop.

_"Why are you so scared?"_ the Optimist asked. _"Dude, you're gay! You're in a relationship! Why does it scare you that your partner or partners might actually want to show their love every so often?"_

_"It's not 'every so often,'"_ Pessimist snarled. _"It's more like every five - frickin - seconds! He's new to this and hes scared as hell that he might be into things that even the gay community finds weird?"_

_"Like doing it in public places?"_

_"Oooh!"_ Horndog squealed. _"Let's do that next! Your locker room in school sounds great!"_

Jason shoved them all behind a fifty-foot thick iron safe and rushed into his fathers room. He realised this probably wasnt the best place to be if he wanted to can his hormones so he decided hed drop off the PDA and then rush back down, discern their plans and tell them straight up that he preferred full-blown sex to whatever it was that they were planning...

In the back of his mind, his three subconscious counterparts were wondering if Connor and Dan were going to knock him unconscious and then hed wake up in the basement strung up like a holiday pig with his two assailants wearing leather and holding whips...

_Someone help me..._

Then he saw it.

Dan's golden briefcase...

... the briefcase his mom had given Dan...

All thoughts of sex flew out the window as Jason picked up the briefcase sitting on Dan's bed and held it reverently. He had no memories of his mother... just the pictures of her he got from the orphanage. Most of them he had pasted into _Legacy._ One he always kept in his wallet. This briefcase was the only thing that really reminded Dan of her...

Without consciously knowing it, Jason sat on the bed with the briefcase on his lap. He ran a hand along the ridges of the case, wondering if his mother had done the same... Wondering how she had given Dan this case and if she had been thinking of their son.

The initials 'D.P.W' were written just above the latch.

Dan Phoenix Wolfe.

_I know it's none of my business..._

_"Guys... Lets go,"_ Optimist suggested.

_"Yeah."_

_"Okay."_

They vanished as Jason felt tears well up in his eyes. He rubbed them away and unlatched the briefcase. Immediately, he saw a large picture of Dan and his wife, Serena, standing together at their wedding. There were doves fluttering in the background and the couple were wreathed in a halo of flowers. Dan looked so happy and Serena, with the same coloured fur as Dan, was simply radiant. Jason was taken aback at her eyes.

The left eye was blue but the right was green.

_She's beautiful..._

He was just about to close the briefcase when he eyes fell onto the contents of the rest of the case.

...

_Whoa._

Pictures of the Blue Wolf were scattered all over as well as several cut outs from newspapers, clips from internet articles and magazine entries. There was even a small tape recording. Jason leapt to his feet, dropping the briefcase onto the ground. There were some ransom notes amongst the collection as well...

His eyes locked onto one picture where the Blue Wolf was removing his horned mask in a dark alleyway and was glancing over his shoulder.

That was Dan's face.

_He i_s _the Blue Wolf!_

Click!

The force of his sudden movement jolted the tape recorder awake.

_"Hrrmmmm...Do you have the money?"_ a familiar drawl said. Jason couldnt quite place it but he had heard that voice before and it sent chills up his spine.

_"I do. You got the pictures?"_ Dan responded.

"_Hrmmmm... Of course... Of course, while this may keep your identity a secret... I cannot assure his... safetly... It would be a shame if what befell her should befall_ him_... Hrrmmm..."_

_"Leave him alone,"_ Dan growled.

_"Hrrmmm... As you wish... Hrrrmmm... We will meet again, Blue Wolf."_

Jason collapsed into the bed, staring at the recording in horror.

It all made sense now...

Dan was the Blue Wolf! His identity had been revealed some time ago and he had to fight to retrieve the evidence before it was leaked to the public! Worse, the voice mentioned a her and hinted that something had happened to that person.

Was that 'her' Serena, his mother!?

Did the person who discovered the Blue Wolf;s true identity threaten and kill Serena!?

_And... and then... and then threatened to come after me!_

_Dan... Dan bought them out... He's spent the past ten years keeping me safe from a distance..._

_He said hed been watching me... and it must to keep me safe..._

"Jason?" Dan appeared at the door. That innocent look of worry turned into one of shock... before immediately transforming into a glare of pure rage.

"D- Dad! I-"

He wanted to apologise... Apologise for how he had acted. If he had known... He wouldn't have treated Dan so badly. It mustve been a real low blow to receive such a cold welcome from the son whom you were fighting so hard to protect for ten years.

"CONNOR!" Dan roared, shaking the entire house.

Jason fell speechless. He had never seen his father angry. This scared him.

Connor came rushing up the stairs.

Dan pulled out two notes from his pocket. "Here's a hundred. Go somewhere f_ar_ away for about two hours."

Connor glanced at Jason... and saw the briefcase on the floor. "But-"

"_Two_ hundred! GO!"

The tiger hesitantly took the money and hurried out of the house. Hearing the front door slam shut made Jason feel like he was trapped in a cage with an angry, hungry lion five times his size.

Dan turned that burning gaze towards him and he instantly cringed.

"D- Dad! I- I'm sorry! I-"

"Save it," Dan spat.

Jason whimpered as his father stalked forward and scooped up all the papers in the briefcase. Dan shut the case tight and set it down on the ground. Calm seemed to seep into the bigger wolf and Jason wasnt sure if he liked his father to be silently fuming or to be rampaging.

When Dan sat down next to him, he was conflicted whether to move closer to run in the other direction screaming. In the end, he was just paralysed with fear.

Dan let out a long, heavy sigh.

"What do you know...?" he asked evenly.

_Where to start...?_

"I- I know you've been spending the last ten years trying to protect me," Jason offered. "And I'm sorry I acted so badly! I would never have acted like that had I known! I mean, mom got killed because of the same guy you were trying to bust and..." His voice trailed off. "... and youre the Blue Wolf..."

"Jason, not this again..."

"It's true!" Jason exclaimed.

He wanted to show Dan the photographs but he wondered why his father was denying the obvious truth. Sure the Blue Wolf in the picture looked younger but he was sure they were old maybe ten years old. The Dan in the wedding photograph was the same Dan in the revealing pictures.

"Jason -"

_Okay, try a different tactic..._

"I've got superpowers."

Dan straightened suddenly and spun towards his son, eyes wide. "You do?"

Jason nodded slowly.

_There... I've admitted it... if only for the sake of my dad..._

_"_Tha'ts impossible..." Dan murmured.

"I can prove it." Jason looked around for something to crush or bend and his eyes fell on the small, metal sphere that acted as a decoration for the foot of Dans bed. Look. He grasped the sphere in one hand and crushed it easily, the metal groaning in protest.

_Wow... I really do have powers..._

Some part of him was hoping hed crash and burn... but the rest... Well...

His dad was the Blue Wolf... and he was the son of the Blue Wolf... That was something to be proud of.

Dan's eyes were wide... but they weren't the sort of wide Jason was expecting. It seemed like Dan was... panicking.

The possibility that the reason Dan had been gone for so long was also amnesia. Was it possible that his father had lost his memory and was only now regaining them? That, through working with the CGID, he was slowly finding more about himself and the life he used to have?

He could genuinely believe he isn't the Blue Wolf...

_... I've got to convince him._

"Dad," Jason said softly, reaching for his fathers big hands. "It's okay... I... I don't care. Like you told me once before, youre proud of me for the decisions I've made whatever they are. The least I can do is return the favour."

Dan pulled away and shot to his feet, growling loudly. "No! No! No!" He clutched the sides of his head, digging his claws into his fur. "This is all wrong! You can't be a super! You just can't!"

"But -"

Dan turned his furious gaze at the ceiling. "Damn you R3! Damn you!"

...

_Wait... Did he just...?_

_"Did he just curse R3?"_ Pessimist asked.

_"How does he know about R3?"_ Optimist added.

_"Whoa..."_ Horndog murmured.

"Did... Did you curse R3 the Writer of Reality?" Jason asked.

Dan let out a cry of frustration and sat back down on the bed, looking absolutely defeated. "This just can't be happening... It's impossible..." He shut his eyes, ready to tear the fur off his temples. "But I should've known, damn it! I should never have trusted R3!"

"Dad!" Jason cried, pulling his fathers hands away before the big wolf damaged himself. "How do you know R3?"

His father sighed and turned to him, eyes watery and apologetic.

For a second... they just stared at one another.

Then... Dan reached over, grasping both Jason's hands in his.

"I know R3... because... Jason..."

He leaned forward. "Yeah...?"

"Jason... I'm F6... the Patriarch."
