Have you ever been shot at?  \nNo, I do not mean those paint-ball or air-soft guns. I am talking about the real life fully loaded meant  \nto do serious harm guns. Well, I have a few times. Each one quick and powerful, and all in the same  \nday. Wait, I am getting ahead of myself. Lets step back a little and catch you all up.\n\nToday I was at Bank Of America to make one special withdrawal. It was easy, yet tedious at the  \nsame time. Mainly because of all the security I had to go through. It took me nearly thirty or so  \nminutes just to retrieve the object within the bank. But that was nothing to sweat over, just standard  \nprocedure at the bank. Normal ever day things that they had to do day in and day out.\n\nSo there I was, my withdrawal safely tucked away within my pockets, myself mentally preparing for  \nwhat I had planned next. I was so engaged with my own self-thoughts I did not even notice the butt of  \nsome rifle type weapon slamming into my chest. Sending me backwards, back into the bank.  \nKnocking the wind straight out of my lunges. The sound of gun fire filled the bank along  \nwith a few screams along with one powerful voice yelling at the top of his lungs, \"Everyone  \non the ground now! This is a hold-up!\"\n\nSafe to say, everyone followed orders pretty well. For at that moment, everyone, including the  \nsecurity guards. The people hired by the bank to protect us against this type of events, where on flat  \non the floor in a few seconds. Some even quicker then that.\n\nSlowly my head lifted, my curiosity forcing me to look at the men who at the moment held the fate  \nof twelve people within the bank. From my position on the floor, I was able to see one of them. A  \nman within what could have been a suite straight out of the old Miami Vice television show, with his  \nface covered with a ski mask matching his jacket. He held what appeared to be a MP5 sub-machine  \ngun.\n\nThe second however was behind me, ordering a few of the bank-tellers to stand and empty the  \nvaults, but I assume he had some sort of shot gun type weaponry. His partner with the MP5 started  \nmoving through the crowds. Making sure no one is doing anything currently unwise for there health,  \nor for the other civilians within the bank. I was sure no one was going to do anything stupid.\n\nIt felt like hours going through this process, and somehow no one did anything stupid that would get  \neither robbers wrath brought on to us. The bank was emptied, and they where going to make a clean  \nbreak. With no one even being bruised, except for myself. The two robber eyes roamed over us and  \nspoke once more \"it's time for all ya to make a deposit, to us! Everyone line up now! Valuables  \nout!\"\n\nAgain, we all complied. Lined up like the men asked, they went from one to the other. Everyone  \nemptied whatever they had into there bags, no questions asked. Until, it was my turn to deposit my  \nown valuables. I just knelt thinking with a shotgun, a Spaz12 in front of my face as they kindly asked  \nme to give up my stuff once more.\n\n\"Screw you...\" the words flew from my lips, causing anger to rise within the robbers. Well, that  \nwas until one of them revived my fist into there stomach sending him up into the air with ease.  \nKnocking the wind right out of him; causing his partner turned his shotgun on me, lifting it almost  \nas if in slow motion towards me. Even as I start my charge towards him. My body colliding with his, my strength magnified with my drive to live, my drive to get out of here and use what I withdrew earlier.\n\nThen it happen. I was shot, eight times in different locations. Obviously shots from the  \none carrying the submachine-gun. My body collapsed on the floor. My mind filled with the thoughts  \nof the men and women who knew they where going to die. About the loved ones, about her. My  \nlimbs burned, numbing by the loss of the blood. The same blood that pooled around my body.\n\nThe last few things I remembered was bright flashing lights growing duller and duller till I was  \nengulfed in blackness. A nothingness that we all dread. No sight, no sound, just the feeling of  \nfloating in this inky blackness.\n\nAnd here I remain. So far I lost track of how long I was floating within this blackness. My mind  \nkept going to back to how I would never see one person. One person that I went to the bank for. The  \none I withdrew that object. With these thoughts my depression rose higher and higher. Until pain  \nsurged through my form. With only one word being repeated over and over. I wasn't able to  \nunderstand the word at all. But it always followed the pain.\n\n\"GAHHHH\" my body shot up. My sight blinding with pure whiteness, and a deep ringing within  \nmy ears. I felt hands grasping and groping over my body for what felt like minutes. Soon, my vision  \ncleared showing people in medical garb surrounding me. Then once more darkness. But this time, I  \nknew I wasn't within the same darkness. I knew I was alive.\n\nThe next time I regained consciousness I was within a hospital bed with my love sitting right next to  \nme. A smile on her face as tears strolled down. She wrapped her warm soft arms around me, holding  \nme as she cried. My own arms joined in the embrace with a smile. \"Hey there sweetie.\"\n\nShe giggled and kissed, just happy that I was wake and alive, with her. \"Hey, would you mind  \nchecking my inside jacket pocket. I got something there for you.\" She did that, and found a ring. A  \nbeautiful golden ring with eighteen Karat. She looked at me, a confused look on her face as I asked  \nher one question. \"Will you marry me?\"\n\nShe smiled and nodded as tears of joy streamed down her cheeks. Turned out to be an okay day  \nafter all.  \n\u0026nbsp;\n\n  \n  \n\n"}
