The words are original, but the story was told to me by one of Erin's own kin, in the soft world of a dream at the edge of sleep. Here now I share with you the story of the wolves of Erin.","content":"A long day done | A tired sleep needed\n\nFor peaceful rest called | And tiredness was heeded\n\nA dream shown suddenly | A history to unfold\n\nThy protector now revealed | Their story now told\n\nOld was the time | On the Isle Erin\n\nWhen the wolves walked | Amongst the peat span\n\nThe Faoladh of many | The Conroicht their kin\n\nIn times long past | Lived freely among man\n\nFor eons of many | Wolves made home within\n\nBoth living and not | A presence of respect\n\nFor with their guidance | They sought to protect\u0026nbsp;\n\nTheir blood and kin | Who lived in Erin\n\nThe males were mighty | Their mates were strong\n\nFor through their teaching | Erin was ever braven\u0026nbsp;\n\nThe lost were safe | The weak not wronged\n\nAs the Faoladh walked | Along the Isle Erin\n\nThe time would come | The fall of wolves\n\nAnd the Faoladh made | To hide among men\n\nFor from the east | There came a force\n\nTo usurp the hearts | Of Erin's great kin\n\nTheir spirits made cold | With eyes wide shut\n\nThe ones who came | Told of thorned crowns\n\nAnd stole the hearts | Of Erin's young men\n\nWho sought to purge | That which they hated\n\nThe wolves of Erin | Though now sight hidden\n\nDid not just abandon | Their blood in man\n\nOnly those with which |\u0026nbsp; The Faoladh lived within\n\nDid know their beauty | And understand their kin\n\nAn isle of time | An isle of turmoil\n\nThe land of Erin | Was owned by many\n\nAnd as time marched | The Isle's blood thinned\n\nSeeping into the rocks | of the great world\n\nIn every land far | On every nation's soil\n\nLives the blood of | Erin's kith and kin\n\nFor they are now | A people made strong\n\nBorn from their hardship | Made now whole again\n\nSon of Erin's kin | Blood of Erin's land\n\nListen faintly at night | As dreams may begin\n\nFor when the Faoladh | Might appear once again\n\nA life of simplicity | Shall come to end\n\nA call made clear | An answer not needed\n\nAwaken son of Erin | Faoladh are now near\u0026nbsp;\n\nA life made whole | One's soul now eased\n\nFor a Conroicht sought | And I did dream\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Poetry","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/1728520-ode-to-the-coming-revelation.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/1728524-der-maelstrom.json"}}
