Was feeling down and this poem just came to me

Alone I Live

  

All alone in abyss it seems

Where people only notice me in dreams

  

Time and again I try to play a part

Only to be reminded that the world is a sour tart

For one such as I who has a noble heart

Alone I stand apart

  

Years have passed me by

While I lived in the shadows nearby

For such a grace as beauty will fly

Never to be seen by my eye

  

Loyalty has always been my winning curse

Lost in the world like a mad nurse

Hope I still claim to be a winning verse

And yet I stand without someone to converse

  

I have heard that nothing gold can last

Yet when you have never seen such a past

How can you understand it so fast

  

In the darkness I wait to see

If anyone in this world will notice me

  

Love I have sought to the end

To be myself and never bend

Alone I find myself always to fend

Those who claim to be my friend

  

If ash is to blow away

The dust of another day

I would stand at bay

Ready to reveal my play

  

Flaws flow through us all

Yet I see those who stand tall

Trying to hide themselves from the fall

Of when I come looking for the long haul

  

Whispers upon the wind reveal

What other think of my appeal

  

In this world we seek to hide our shame

Behind a wall of hatred set in flame

Together we force upon the blame

Those who hide without a name

  

Friends have moved beyond in years

Leaving me with little more than tears

  

I can recall a time before

When I wanted more

Only to be left with this sad lore

  

This heart has never known love

Because I could never find my dove

  

Flowers and candles a gift to give

Yet alone I live
