The mood gives  \nhim his purpose; he acts as he pleases.  \nHe may play at any venue he wishes;  \nwhen the mood strikes he will  \nplay for his own thrill.  \n  \nWhen he plays he grips his instrument  \nsurely, no mistaking his intent.  \nHe will play with passion, he will vent.  \nHe will extract the purpose divinely sent.  \nAnd he will sing and play  \ntill the end of the day  \n  \nif that is his wish. He will dance and move  \nsometimes without rhythm, sometimes with a groove.  \nHe has nothing to lose, nothing to prove,  \nand with reckless abandon he will move  \nup and down, fast and slow  \nwith each huff and gruff and blow.  \n  \nHis excitement will mount, ecstasy rise;  \nthe room will shrink to impossible size  \nas his performance grows, emotion flies.  \nSteadily the soloist reaches his prize.  \nNeither love nor lust heed  \nhim on his journey, but need.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; His exhibition will climax but not end.  \nHe continues on until he can send  \nhis white hot notes running off to fend  \nfor themselves in the watery descent,  \nthe final plunge they must take  \nall for their creator's sake.  \n  \nHe will wipe his instrument clean with care  \nand replace it in its case; it belongs there.  \nHe did not need others to play this fare  \nnor was his song meant to be shared.  \nBut who knows how he had to fly  \nto feel truly satisfied?  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Poetry","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/139529-the-duet.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/216709-the-wanderer.json"}}
