My wings were bound I could not fly  
I was always left asking myself why  
Why I did let you do this to me  
Why did I let it come to be?

Letting you tear me apart  
Watching as you ripped out my heart  
All the pain it will never subside  
But I will never vanish with the tide

I took it all thinking it was love  
Above all I held you above  
But I'm done with the pain that you gave  
All the fear I had I put it in a grave

She was the one who gave me a warm place  
The stinging stopped when her paw felt my face  
The love she is giving will never fade  
She is helping me sew the tear you made

Her gentle touch and warm caress  
With her I finally buried the mess  
Forgetting you it will take my best  
So I can finally lay that life down to rest
