And if you have bad intentions, be doubly careful.","content":"This Week's Writing Challenge:\u0026nbsp; The darkness was all encompassing, but the light held strong'.\n\nAt least 1000 words, don't worry if you go over.\n\nTag all prompts with: WritingGroupChallenge.\n\nAdd all prompts to a separate folder.\n\nPut the prompt description at the beginning of your story.\n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;Summer Fields stood in his armor waiting.\u0026nbsp; He was assigned a job that he didn't know how to do, well, that was an exaggeration.\u0026nbsp; All he had was his clothing and some personal knick-knacks, and a loaded backpack to do the job, really.\u0026nbsp; Ya, sure, in theory he knew what to do, he had been taught how to do the job, but he'd never actually been on assignment before, never used a backpack, never seen one deployed.\u0026nbsp; So he was a little nervous.\u0026nbsp; You betcha he'd have sweaty palms, ... if his palms could sweat, and if he could feel fear.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; Really he should have been terrified. Though he wasn't scared yet.\u0026nbsp; Not yet.\u0026nbsp; Ya, it was a desperate plan, but he'd been assured that, \"Really, it's safe, you've been taught what to do.\u0026nbsp; When the time arrives, just open your backpack and give it to the first one who wants it.\u0026nbsp; Then come back home.\u0026nbsp; You'll be safe.\"\u0026nbsp; He was told it was safe, safe for him to do this.\n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;It wasn't a desperate situation, at least not yet, or at least not for him.\u0026nbsp; Not for his friends, not for his boss.\u0026nbsp; Sure he was trapped.\u0026nbsp; They stood all around him laughing and taunting him.\u0026nbsp; He was in the middle of their ring, standing in a circle and unable to leave.\u0026nbsp; He was told to stand there and so he did.\u0026nbsp;\n\n\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;He scanned the place, the room of stone, damp, fetid - smelling of urine, and death.\u0026nbsp; Dark, and malevolent.\n\nThey yelled at him, cursed him.\u0026nbsp; God, they were so Evil.\u0026nbsp; They cursed his friends, cursed his Boss...\u0026nbsp; Cursed Heaven and Earth and all that was within contained.\u0026nbsp; They looked just like demons, they did, twisted evil minds, making evil twisted plans.\u0026nbsp; He could not imagine what they though they would do to him.\u0026nbsp; The things they said to him, so awful and twisted -venomous -perverted, it was like they were beings of pure evil intent on wrecking the world.\u0026nbsp; Like they were carved from the darkness of hell itself.\u0026nbsp; The darkness of their evil thoughts was all encompassing in this unholy room, as he stood surrounded by them, howling and cursing. \u0026nbsp;\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; He was told to stand tall, stand proudly, and if he was asked to relinquish his backpack to open it and give it to them, then leave immediately.\u0026nbsp; Only he was surrounded by them, he had no idea how to escape.\u0026nbsp; Their dark evil was all encompassing, tangible, like pure darkness.\n\nThe biggest of them approached and insulted Summer.\u0026nbsp; And just standing there, Summer bore all their insults, letting them slide off.\u0026nbsp; He knew what truth was.\u0026nbsp; Finally, the biggest guy, stood in front of Summer, and demanded he submit.\u0026nbsp; Summer made the mistake of looking at this being, this evilness.\u0026nbsp; But he didn't respond.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \"You have something I want, give me all your gold.\"\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \"I cannot give you any gold, none of it is mine to give.\u0026nbsp; I can give you a feather?\" Summer offered as a make do.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \"Not good enough.\u0026nbsp; Give me all your power.\"\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \"You want my power?\"\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \"Yes give it to me!!\" \u0026nbsp; This was the moment.\u0026nbsp; This was it, this was the command, and he certainly wanted to get away from this foul place of evil, of evil intentions.\u0026nbsp; He'd been told what to do, and here was his chance!\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; So Summer Fields, with pure darkness and hate surrounding him, followed his instructions to the letter.\u0026nbsp; He gave them - in their darkness - what they had asked for.\u0026nbsp; Inside his knapsack, - the source - the wellspring of all his power - inside his knapsack, blinding, shining brighter than a million suns, a ball; a sphere of pure Love.\u0026nbsp; It dissolved them as they screamed, it immersed him in pure love, it burned him away,\u0026nbsp; it burned them to ash, the light subsumed him - straight into heaven, to take him home.\n\nAnd though the darkness had been all encompassing, the light still held.\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"WritingGroupChallenge","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/1771423-oh-just-my-luck.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/1780911-it-was-a-year-ago-november-as-near-as-i-remember.json"}}
