Written for AnthroMage over on FA after we were discussing a certain Soviet-era cult film~","content":"\"Mage... where the fuck are we\"  \n  \nThe sand dunes stretched as far as the eye could see. There was nigh even a plant or structure. Just sand and more sand, except for two anthro beings.  \n  \n\"Bing... I don't know\"  \n  \nThe one named Mage held her phone out She was a border collie who wore a simple yellow camisole. She like her companion kept moving her head all around, trying to figure out where they are.  \n  \n\"Are you seriously smoking right now?\"  \n  \n\"Its a good time to smoke, no?\"  \n  \nThe one named Bing had lit a match that he held to a cigar hanging out of his mouth. He was a binturong who wore a black suit with a red turtleneck. He took a few puffs of the cigar before sighing.  \n  \n\"Any luck with a signal?\"  \n  \n\"Nothing.\"  \n  \n\"Bleh\"  \n  \nBing took another puff of his cigar as he bent down, a hand going through the sand.   \n  \n\"What does the sand appear to you?\"  \n  \nMage crouched down with Bing and grabbed a fistful of the sand, feeling and examining it.  \n  \n\"Sand.\"  \n  \nBing sighed.  \n  \n\"What type of sand?\"  \nMage shrugged.  \n  \n\"Very coarse sand.\"  \n  \n\"Exactly.\"  \n  \nBing puffed his cigar again and stood up and looked around.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; \"You got an idea?\"  \n  \nBing nodded, taking a long drag of his cigar and breathing a large plume of smoke out.  \n  \n\"Well, for one, I don't think we're in a desert.\"  \n  \nMage dropped the sand and almost deliriously looked around waving her hands before turning back to Bing.  \n  \n\"You must be joking. Look around!\"  \n  \nBing chuckled  \n  \n\"I'm not, desert sand is fine, almost like dust. This sand, however, its more similar to a beach.\"  \n  \n\"Heh, it does look more like beach sand. Does this mean we're in a giant beach? At least I'm dressed properly,\"  \n  \nMage twirled in her dress, showing it off.  \n  \n\"Unlike you.\"  \n  \nBing merely responded by taking his jacket off.   \n  \n\"Well, either a giant beach or something that used to be underwater. Now where on earth could that be?\"  \n  \n\"I got no idea.\"  \n\"Neither do I.\"  \n  \nThere was a moment of silence between the two.  \n  \n\"Maybe we're on Pluck.\"  \n  \nBing took his cigar out of his mouth without any ceremony and stared back at Mage.  \n  \n\"You must be joking.\"  \n  \n\"Maybe, weirder things had happened.\"  \n  \n\"I'm pretty sure the chance's we're on Pluck are close to zero.\"  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; \"But not zero.\"  \n  \n\"True.\"  \n  \nThe two became quiet again before Bing started to spin away and walk in a seemingly random direction.  \n  \n\"Where are you going?\"  \n  \n\"No idea.\"  \n  \nMage held no objections and followed the binturong.  \n  \n\"I wonder if the Chatlanin will accept art.\"  \n  \n\"Either way I can still sing.\"  \n  \nThe two laughed before continuing to walk.  \n  \nAnd walked.  \n  \nAnd walked.  \n  \nFinally.  \n  \n\"What's that?\"  \n  \n\"Looks like a rusted building of some sort\"  \n  \nBing stepped forward towards it.  \n  \n\"Perhaps it should give us some clue as to where we are.\"  \n  \nBefore Bing could walk any further, an anthro bear suddenly popped up from the building, his clothing in complete rags except for his yellow pants.  \n  \n\"Hello, do you speak english?\" Bing asked.  \n  \nThere was no reply so Mage stepped forward.  \n  \n\"Maybe he speaks-\"  \n  \n\"Koo!\" shouted the bear.  \n  \n\"Oh fuck.\" The two muttered in unison as they squatted.  \n  \n\"The one day I don't wear red pants.\"\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Scribbles","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/1801083-scribbles-rex-s-christmas-present.json"}}
