As I'm laying there, I slowly start to fall into my own thoughts, wondering on a few things that have kind of been on my mind but just put off to the side. Ever since my experience on Sauria and my 'spirit quest' I've been thinking about a few things I can't seem to put into words, but I'll try my best. I've said it to myself that I'm the only one of my entire family to survive Earth's destruction and part of my brain deflects it like it doesn't want to believe that fact even though it's true and my own mortality has been on my mind since then too.\n\n  \n\nBut what had the biggest effect on me what my short reunion with my dad, sometimes I even talk to my charm in hoping it makes him reappear but it doesn't work. So many things I wanted to say, so many things I wanted to ask... so much pain and so much sadness. I remember those moments back on Sauria, everything fading into obliteration as I felt my body giving up despite my willpower in not wanting to die and to live on, if my strength didn't react with the charm when it did I would be dead no questions asked. We humans have a complicated relationship with death to a degree, we know it is the final phase of life long after time itself erodes us, but we simply push it off so we can live in the moment and it no longer hangs on minds until tragedy itself strikes us in it own way. I'm starting to wonder just how the generation that comes after us will process the Lylat System and in their prime they'll think they are immortal just we once thought we were... so many variables that I can't even try to put into perspective. There are some questions that I do need to ask that do require answers... but the only person I can ask when it comes to them is currently asleep and holding me in her arms.\n\nI feel Krystal's grip tighten a little, I look up to see her eyes are halfway open and she looks to be both concerned and curious.\n\nKrystal says \"I feel how sad you are hon, what's wrong?\"\n\nI sigh and I explain to her my thoughts from but a few mere moments ago, her eyes are laser focused on me and her ears are just as fixated. I finish saying the thoughts I had, she puts on a pondering look, she has me sit up and she follows suite, she sits there for a few minutes and she puts her hand on my shoulder.\n\nKrystal says \"You've been trying to sort a lot of information and feelings out. It's a lot for me to take in too.\" with a light smile.\n\nI say \"There is one more thing, remember when I explained my spirit walk?\" as I feel my cheeks blush.\n\nKrystal says \"Yes hon, I found it marvelous! Why did something else happen?\" with joyous and curious smile.\n\nI say \"Yeah... one of my ancestors made the comment... half joking half serious... that maybe you and I could...\"\n\nKrystal cuts me off \"Have offspring?\" with a raised eyebrow.\n\nI stammer and I say \"Yes, from their point of view it's because I'm the last of my bloodline... but I wasn't sure how you'd feel and I have my own feelings about it.\"\n\nKrystal blinks a few times and she says \"Well, there have been some human-cornerian hybrids birthed... so we know it is possible. I also remember us talking about us having kids off and on, but we never got serious about it.\"\n\nI say \"What do you think hon?\" with a curious look of my own.\n\nThe vixen sighs as she thinks, she holds both of my hands and she says \"Honestly, it's a huge step and a big decision as in it would likely require us changing our whole lives.\", she puts on a smile as she continues \"But I think it would be wonderful if we had children. But I'll support your choice either way.\"\n\nI nod at her words and I say \"For me, I'm not entirely sure. And that's because I'm afraid of something.\"\n\nKrystal says \"What would you be afraid of?\"\n\nI say \"Well, as you know kids gain qualities from their parents, from you they'll gain your telepathey and from me they'll gain my sight... but I'm afraid of them gaining, something else.\" as I become petrified towards the end.\n\nKrystal puts on a look of realization and she says \"You mean your autism?\"\n\nI nod and I say \"Yeah, I do. There is a chance it won't come into play but if it does then I have no idea what to expect, that's why I'm not sure. I still remember how different I was treated from everyone else just because of it. I'm just frightened by it, that if I have kids they'll go through that too.\" as tear rolls down my cheek.\n\nKrystal embraces me, she says \"I understand your fear to a degree, having kids is a huge task and I can feel how scared you are. Whatever choice you make I'll support you, I know your autism is a sensitive subject, but if our offspring does inherit it, then we'll shower it with love and help them get what they need to succeed.\", she kisses me and she says \"You are my mate, my love and now my fiance, I'm right here and I want to help you.\"\n\nI put on a thinking look and I say \"May I ask you something personal?\" already feeling my face blushing.\n\nKrystal puts on an amused smile and she says \"Of course hon.\"\n\nI say \"Uh, so when the next time your going to be...\"\n\nKrystal says \"In heat?\" beating me to it.\n\nI nod and I say \"Yes.\"... but just barely.\n\nKrystal lightly giggles and she says \"Well, first of all I have a monthly cycle like the females of your species and the other women you have met thus far. However when it comes to the women of my species, we can get really .... 'rowdy'.\"\n\nI raise an eyebrow as I say \"Rowdy? What do you mean?\"\n\nKrystal says \"You see, when it comes to us cerinians we had to disciplin ourselves when it come to our... urges. When it comes to the female side of of my species, it can take all of our focus just to maintain our composer during our cycle.\"\n\nI say \"Your instincts become that strong?\"\n\nKrystal says \"They can be, but if we toss aside that discipline and give into it entirely, we lose our sense of reasoning and that will be the only thing on our minds when it comes to our mates, to where our adrenaline aids us greatly while mating. In other words, there is a chance I could hurt you, I would not just bruise you but you could actually end up with broken bones.\" with her becoming more worried towards the end\n\nI think 'Her hormones will cause her to go berserk? That's one hell of an on switch?' and I say \"What can I do during this time?\"\n\nKrystal says \"Since I would become feral, you could resist to where I won't hurt you as much, but all it'll do is excite me more and make my instincts stronger. The males of my species developed a mechanism to help protect themselves to where their skin would kind of rubberize after being exposed to pheromones and their fur would cluster to lower chances of injury. Needless to say your race doesn't have that ability.\"\n\nI sigh as I think and I say \"It wouldn't be the first time I got knocked around.\" with a smile as I brush my hand through her hair.\n\nKrystal lightly smiles as she takes my hand and she says \"I guess, nor would it be encountering something feral.\"\n\nI say \"How long before you're... um...\"\n\nKrystal giggles and she says \"According to my calendar, it'll be in about a week.\" with a humorous smile.\n\nI say \"You'll have your answer by then, I have to think about this, like you said it's a huge step.\" with a light smile.\n\nKrystal kisses me and she says \"Remember, I'll support you either way my mate.\" keeping her smile.\n\nGiven that breakfast is coming up I decide to head down to the mess hall with Krystal saying she'd catch up, I soon come in with some officers milling about but Fay and Miyu are at a table chatting, they wave me over but I tell them I'll be there in a minute, I grab my coffee and my breakfast and I join them.\n\nMiyu says \"Hey bro, how's it going?\" with a smile.\n\nI say \"It's going okay, just waking up.\" and I take a sip of my coffee.\n\nFay says \"I hear that, yesturday really took a lot out us.\" with a big smile.\n\nI say \"No kiddin.\" under my breath as I glance to Miyu who's giving her a big smile.\n\nMy big sis may have gotten some last night... I guess, I feel like I almost got myself killed yesturday! I shove the thought aside and I go on drinking my coffee.\n\nMiyu says \"Hey bro, we've got something we want to run by you.\"\n\nI say \"Sure, what's going on?\" and I get started on my breakfest.\n\nFay says \"We're going to have baby.\" with a warm smile.\n\nI nod and I say \"Cool, hope it all works out. But how are you going to have the kid?\" with a slight, humorous smirk.\n\nMiyu says \"We're going to find a donor to help us out.\" as she and Fay giggle.\n\nI say \"I think that'll be pretty easy, hospitals and centers should help you guys out no problem.\"\n\nFay says \"Actually... we want you to be the donor.\" with a huge smile.\n\nI spit my coffee out in pure shock, I lightly cough and I say \"You want me to do what?!\"\n\nBoth Miyu and Fay start to laugh and I can feel some of the other officers looking at us.\n\nMiyu says \"Your reaction was pretty good.\"\n\nI sigh and I say \"Normally, I'd laugh. But I'm not in the mood.\" as I try to get on with my breakfest.\n\nFay puts on a concerned look and she says \"Sorry, I guess we struck a nerve.\"\n\nMiyu says \"What's wrong bro, normally you can handle that kind of joke.\", she puts her hand on my shoulder and she says \"Come on, big sis wants to help.\"\n\nI say \"It's kind of a big topic.\" as I blush.\n\nFay says \"Given your reaction, I think we know the topic.\" with a witty smile.\n\nMiyu looks to me and I nod, earning a smile and she says \"Ahh, my little brother and his fiancee having those kind of talks. I think it's wonderful.\"\n\nKrystal comes over, she says \"Morning ladies.\" with a light smile as she sits down with her food and she says \"Why is there coffee all over the place?\"\n\nI think 'Oh, here we go.' as I wish I had an irish coffee now, but I do hatch an idea, I look to Krystal and I say \"I have some news I have to tell you.\" with a mischievous smile.\n\nKrystal looks to me and she says \"Oh? What is it darling?\"with a light smile earning looks from the lynx and dog.\n\nI say \"Miyu and Fay asked for my donation so that they can have a kid.\" as I gently stir my coffee, but I manage to sneak a wink at her.\n\nKrystal lightly nods, I think she even reads my mind as she puts on her own smile and she says \"So Fay, I guess that would make you the barer of the child?\"\n\nFay stammers at Krystal's words, earning a smile from me and a blush from Miyu.\n\nKrystal says \"Well, Miyu is Adam's adopted sister, so your womb would have to be where the donation would have to be made.\" with a mischievous smile.\n\nFay and Miyu give huge blushes as I start to give a laugh of my own as Krystal and I high five, after which Krystal starts to giggle.\n\nMiyu starts to lightly laugh and she says \"Alright bro, you got us back.\" with a light smile.\n\nFay nervously laughs and she says \"Yeah, good one.\"\n\nKrystal says \"All joking aside though, it is something that's come up.\"\n\nMiyu says \"I imagine it comes up for most couples.\" and she takes a sip of tea.\n\nBreakfest continues for a little while longer with us managing to get off the whole 'having a kid' deal... thank goodness. I decide to occupy myself by going to the weapon range to take my mind off things, I ready a cornerian machine gun and start a quick excercise, the enviroment becomes active with robots and turrets, I charge into the field, dummy rounds leaving my weapon, burst of around five rounds leave the barrel and hitting their mark. I activate my sight to see the robots and turrets around and behind corners and I start to really overwhelm the machines, but the machine gun starts to fire a random number of rounds, anywhere from two to ten rounds a pop, I can feel the fierce nature of the weapon as it hungers to engauge. After expending all the rounds in my weapon the simulation ends, I look at the fake carnage, I sigh... realizing now what I'm truely best at.\n\nI hear \"You put on quite a show.\", I look and I see it's Fox and he says \"Are you up for a double team?\" as he reveals the same weapon I'm holding.\n\nI say \"Sure thing Fox, let me just reload and reset.\" with a light smile.\n\nI re-arm and I have the simulation restart, but with more targets and at a higher difficulty. Fox and I effortlessly work in tandom, our rounds finding their marks and neither of us giving any heads up on threats. I remember training with Fox, in fact he's the one who taught me how to fight hand-to-hand and how to wield many small arms. We get through the excercise and we find ourselves at the station.\n\nFox says \"You've come a long way Adam, I'm so proud of you.\" with a bright smile.\n\nI say \"Thanks Fox, I couldn't have done it without any of you.\" with a light smile.\n\nFox says \"But I can tell your kind of distracted.\"\n\nI say \"Distracted?\" with a confused look.\n\nFox says \"Normally you call out threats and potential targets when working with teammates. Eyes or not.\", he sets the used up weapon aside and he says \"Is everything okay?\"\n\nI sigh and I say \"I'll be honest Fox, I've been thinking. You see, I've been thinking of returning to civilian life both me and Krystal.\"\n\nFox says \"I kind of understand, I've thought of leaving this life here and there. But it's all I know. From what I here it could be difficult for us to become civilians again.\"\n\nI say \"Our military personnel faced the same issues and I'm sure all other do. Ptsd, flashbacks... sometimes there was fanfare, but most were shunned.\", I look at Fox and I say \"No one likes a soldier unless the enemy is at their doorstep. That would be the proper saying.\"\n\nFox says \"I think it's safe to say that no longer exists in human culture and we here in the Lylat are open to military personnel, enlisted or retired. You two should have no problem and the government can even help if you reach out to them.\" with a light smile.\n\nI lightly smile and I say \"Thanks for the heads up Fox.\"\n\nFox nods and he says \"Just don't forget to take your fighter with ya.\" with a joking smile and tone.\n\nWe both lightly laugh and we head out, with me deciding to just walk around the city and have some alone time. I take in the air as I reflect on the past few years, honestly since entering the Lylat System I've mainly dealt with being onboard a ship and dealing with explosions and war, outside of the brief moments of helping U.C.R. get started and Fox is correct, it is all I know. I've gotten use to looking out onto the void and seeing the stars, flying the wraith into the heart of a bandit or marauder outpost to claim a bounty and finish a job so that we can upkeep our equipment. Sure the adventure is great but let's be honest, how long will it be until Fox gets too old and disbands the group anyway? He's ten years older then I am and he's starting to show some grey here and there, so the question is when will he decide it's time to retire? With the investments I've made with some help from the Cornerian Administration, I can be set for life and sooner or later we are going to run out of enemies to fight, the Venom's are all but extinct, the Sharp Claw have been beaten into submission and more importantly we've mopped up almost every pirate group and any renegades that tried to create their own 'empires' that split off from during the war against the Venom's have been obliterated.\n\nI hear \"Are you Adam of the Star Fox Team?\", I turn around and I see a wolf approaching me. His blue eyes are deep and sharp, his suit has armor plates much like a knights, a sword resting on his hip.\n\nI say \"Yes, that is me.
