It was just the outbreak of a great wave of hostilities.  \n'Fuck yeah! This is what I was waiting for,' Dersaco hollered with contentment.  \nThe three canines separated and confronted the opponents, manoeuvring and dodging their  \nmaddening attacks with magnificent agility. It was very difficult to bash the shatokers in as they  \nteleported all the time, vanishing again and again.  \nDersaco had his right cheek cut, what made him see red. Infuriated for the wound caused, he  \nsharpened his senses and started bounding to strike by surprise. That way, he scratched his attackers,  \nwhat gave him a considerable advantage. With bleeding wounds, his rivals could not keep moving as  \nbefore. His legs used to kick them down and then stuck his spear on their bodies. Sooner than  \nexpected, he killed the three darned creatures.  \nYeran covered herself with her axe as if it were a shield, bit them with ferocity, scratched them with  \nher claws and smashed them up with her fierce attacks. She soon finished them, leaving their bloodspattered bodies on the ground.  \nJakso, not impressed by the abilities of his foes, contended with them in a quick bloody combat,  \nstriking sternly to tear them to shreds. The outcome was a bloodstained scene of savage murder. The  \ncanines had shown to be ferocious fighters, unlike usual trespassers.  \n'What have you done?' the leader of the shatokers said to them, shocked to have seen such brutality  \nin battle. 'You killed my brethren.'  \n'You'll be the next one, peckerface!' Dersaco told him.  \n'Give us the ball,' Yeran asked him.  \n'I think I'll have to do it myself,' the leader whispered and concentrated to unleash his inner power.  \n'He won't give us anything,' Jakso spoke, unfazed by the situation.  \n'That piece of shit wants to be killed,' Dersaco added.  \n'This is your last chance to give us the ball,' Yeran insisted.  \n'Prepare to suffer the consequences of your sinful attitude,' the shatoker raised his arms and  \npronounced a spell to invert their gravity.  \n'What the fuck?' Dersaco said as he felt his body ascending with slowness.  \n'What's going on?' Yeran asked.  \nIn a few seconds, the warriors had ascended more than forty metres high. The shatoker lowered his  \narms and they fell down, hitting the ground with great force.  \n'Your death is compulsory.'  \nHe drew a red-bladed sword and a lilac aura surrounded his body, determined to condemn the  \nintruders to anathema. Under no circumstances could he permit a group of profane defilers took the  \ntalisman he had dedicated to his god, in honour of his infinite compassion. As the shatoker was not  \nafraid of dying, he went for them. He hurled himself at Yeran. Jakso intervened and stopped him  \nbefore he touched her.  \n'Not so fast,' he told him after having restrained his attack with his sword. With swiftness he pushed  \nhim back and dissuaded him from touching her.  \n'You'll be killed first,' the shatoker told him and stepped backwards.  \n'We'll see.'  \nJakso faced him in a rapid sword scuffle to impress Yeran with his arresting strength, making  \nhimself conspicuous. Dersaco, dominated by the emotion of the moment, did not let him take all the  \nglory for himself. With his sword ready, he encroached on the battle. That shatoker was faster than the  \nprevious ones, his skills were striking and so were his powers. Touching his body was not as easy as  \nthey thought it would be.  \nYeran picked herself up off the ground promptly. She had not hurt after the unpredicted fall.  \nHaving a light suit of armour protected her body from hits and blows. As the males were struggling  \nwith the adversary in a vicious clash, it was not necessary for her to interfere.  \nDersaco distanced from the enemy for a moment and threw his spear at him, being so lucky to stick  \nit on his left foot. Walking with a limp, he could get back and use another trick. From his long sleeves,  \ngreenish roots emerged and entangled Jakso's legs to let him still. Even being embroiled, the wolf was  \nnot scared. The shatoker pronounced another spell and froze all his body, leaving him out of battle.  \n'Fucking shit!' Dersaco swore and cut the roots with his sword.  \n'You'll die as well.'  \n'I'll fucking kill you,' he shouted at him.  \nBefore the coyote approached too much, a strong wind pushed him back and he fell down. Keeping  \na magic card in his right hand, the shatoker paralysed him instantly. Jakso released his fury and broke  \nthe ice that tightened his body, having a bluish aura over him as a sign of wrath. He soon continued  \nstriking with majestic movements like an experimented samurai. The overcoat cloth was torn with the  \ncontinuous scratches the sword produced, the shatoker yelled out in pain when he felt his skin being  \nperforated by the blade. There was no other option than recede. Dersaco was able to move again as the  \nspell was annulated.  \n'There's no mercy for you,' the shatoker told the wolf, still in pain.  \n'Your lousy tricks don't work on me,' Jakso said to him. 'Your time has come.'  \n'You haven't seen my real power yet.'  \n'I've seen enough. You're a dreadful wizard.'  \nThe shatoker extended both arms forwards and released a powerful luminous beam that pushed him  \nseveral metres back, strong enough to heave a black dragon. Jakso pushed the beam back and tossed it  \nto him, made him suffer the soreness of his own technique, which exploded like a grenade. The  \nshatoker had half of his body burnt. He soon fell down and remained immobile.  \n'You killed that prick?' Dersaco asked him.  \n'He was irritating.'  \n'I would've liked to cut him with my sword.'  \n'The battle is over. It's time for a confession.'  \n'You do that and I'll go for the ball,' he said and went to the temple.  \nJakso walked back to Yeran and told her it was time to tell her the truth. She already knew what he  \nwas going to do, except some extra details he had just added.  \n'We haven't finished our journey yet.'  \n'I can't put off the proposal. I've been waiting many weeks to do this.'  \n'Say what you have to say.'  \n'The first time was disastrous. My only goal was to make you happy, but at that time I knew so little  \nabout you,' he introduced his long speech. 'I have changed for you. Nothing would make sense to me  \nwithout you. Your company makes me happy. Your banter, your sincerity and your philanthropy have  \ncaptivated me,' he cleared his throat and continued. 'You're the most valuable thing I have in my life.  \nMy love for you knows no boundaries. I'm willing to do whatever to make you happy. I love you, and  \neven though you hate me cos of my misconduct, I'll always love you.'  \n'That was sweet,' she admitted.  \n'Eh, that's not the answer I was expecting.'  \n'I don't know what to say. I'm not effusive like other females. I'm sorry.'  \n'Don't worry! I know what you need,' he took the bangle and showed it to her.  \n'Is that what I think it is?' she was astonished.  \n'I kept this for you. I know how much you love it,' he put it on her wrist.  \nYeran was very happy to have her bangle. She looked back on her infancy, her mother, her sister  \nand her home. Jakso was the only one who understood how valuable that piece of metal was for her.  \nGive her that gift during his proposal meant one simple thing: he was the chosen one. Loving him was  \nthe only thing she could do from that time onwards.  \n'Thank you very much,' she said and embraced him the same way she did with her close friends.  \n'Oh, dear! This is the first time you hug me.'  \n'Is it?' she stepped backwards. 'How do you feel?'  \n'I couldn't feel better.'  \n'I'm not a loving female. It's difficult for me to express my feelings.'  \n'If I could change for you, you can change for me. I can't force you to love me from one day to the  \nother. You need time to get used to it.'  \n'I guess so.'  \n'Now comes the best part,' he mentioned. 'I have a question for you and I hope the answer is yes.'  \n'You don't need to do this,' she was about to blush.  \nHe bent his right knee and took her hands. A beautiful smile decorated his face, giving him a  \nsplendid look.  \n'My dear Yeran, will you marry me?'  \nSighing deeply the wolfess smiled as she used to do in the past. It looked like her time to be really  \nhappy had finally come. She was carried away when she saw him propose.  \n'Yes, I will.'  \n'I have no words to describe how happy I am right now,' he stood up and embraced her, giving her  \nthe affection she deserved.  \n'I'm close to tears.'  \n'Don't shed tears!' he asked her. 'Everything will be fine.'  \n'Dersaco knows about this?'  \n'He helped me with the speech. I could've never done this without his help.'  \n'I have to thank him for that,' she stepped backwards again to have a look at her beautiful bangle.  \nJakso had a gold ring at home. He preferred to give it to her after having finished the long journey.  \nAs she had accepted his proposal, he could already consider her wife.  \nDersaco had climbed the temple, took the ball, put it inside a leather bag and returned to the place  \nhis companions were. As he was coming back, the fallen shatoker, whose skin had just regenerated,  \nstood up again, picked the spear that was on the ground and aimed at the wolves. Without wasting  \ntime, he threw it at the wolves with all his strength. Dersaco saw him standing up and warned his  \ncompanions about the surprising attack. Faster than ever the coyote ran to go back. It was too late  \nwhen he realised about the peril.  \nYeran was distracted looking at her bangle when the sudden spear appeared and embedded Jakso's  \nback. The weapon perforated his heart, killing him straightaway. He fell down on his knees and lay  \ndown on the ground, incapable of moving. Yeran could not believe what had just befallen. She saw him  \nfalling, and when approached him, let out a scream of agony. He had the spear sticking in his back.  \n'Son of a bitch!' Dersaco jumped and decapitated the shatoker in a jiffy. He continued running  \ntowards his companions.  \n'What happened?' Yeran asked sobbing.  \n'He did this,' --he pointed at the beheaded creature. He was trying to recover his breath. 'That  \nfucker was still alive.'  \n'How could this happen? We were talking and then... '  \nSeeing that he did not react, the wolfess despaired as never before and burst into tears. She had seen  \nher only hope blow up before her. It was another traumatic experience she had to live through. Her life  \nwas full of horrific memories that saddened her each time she harked back to her past.  \n'Jakso...' she sobbed, trying to awake him.  \n'This can't be happening... ' he whined.  \nHe embraced the bereaved wolfess and kept her by his chest, leaving her weep bitterly. They both  \nwere heartbroken because of the recent misfortune. The wolf's body they had to carry to bury him  \nonce they descended the mountain.  \n  \n  \n\n","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/1814106-mitriaria-chapter-28.json"}
