#2 of Poems

A poem I wrote for a friend that I feel has been getting closer to me everyday. A friend of theirs recently suffered a loss, and she asked my to write this for him. This is for you my friend....

_ **Go** __ **ne** _

_In the future there lies a peace_

_Where the spirits of life meet once more_

_All dressed in their coats of fleece_

_To embark on the final journey to the distant shore_

_While darkness reigns for a span_

_Always to yield to the ever present dawn_

_Memories of yore are a fan_

_Of the grace with which we all fawn_

_Loss is the nature of life_

_A great circle that begins with the birth_

_Of a new age, a tale that is rife_

_Yet beholds to mirth_

_Words can never replace that which is lost_

_To you I leave this tale of woe_

_A great sorrow to say goodbye is the cost_

_And to this end I say death is not a foe_

_Gone are the ones we hold dear_

_To live on in their memory is the task_

_Nothing remains but the pain and the fear_

_Of a future without them to ask_

_In this wisdom I share_

_Hold not to sorrow_

_Leave behinds its cold unbitter care_

_And relish in the brightness of morrow_
