Been so swamped, but I promise I'll try to get some work done this week!_\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\n**_My First, My Last_**\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nYou sought me out.\n\nYou knew I was different.\n\nSo did so many of the Deltas, I suppose.\n\nEven when others didn't see it,\n\nyou could see it in me.\n\nAnd when I told you,\n\ntears streaming down my face,\n\nyou held me in your arms.\n\nYou promised me you'd be there\n\nwhen I fall down.\n\nPerhaps...\n\nPerhaps it would be better to say\n\nyou'd be there\n\nfor when I came out.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nAnd for that night, I was happy.\n\nFor that night, I was accepted.\n\nWaking at five or so,\n\nthe first wan beams of sunshine hitting your window.\n\nIt was bliss like I never knew existed.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nYou see, I thought you were different.\n\nI thought all Deltas were,\n\nsince you were a fraternal brotherhood\n\nof acceptance.\n\nOf what?\n\nI wonder that now.\n\nI could be _me_ with you,\n\nnot this masculine mask I parade in.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nThen I heard you speak.\n\nRight outside your door you stood.\n\nDid you think me so dumb?\n\nIs that all I was?\n\nYour brothers and you spoke like any frat boy would.\n\nIt was your story of the hunt,\n\nand I was your prey.\n\nAll this time, that is all I was.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nI know what you told them.\n\nHow you sought this doe,\n\ntracking her so carefully,\n\nso cautious not to misstep.\n\nAnd then when you had her in your sights,\n\nyou shot her through the heart.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nI know what you won't tell them.\n\nThey are the things I felt because of you.\n\nYou bled that kill dry,\n\npicked at a few of the sweet meats,\n\nand then mounted the head in your room.\n\nWhat remained was an empty corpse,\n\nno longer so elusive,\n\nno longer strived after.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nEvery time you touched my hand.\n\nEvery flirtatious comment.\n\nEvery ride you gave me to work.\n\nFor me it was love.\n\nFor you, a chess game,\n\nand I was left with an incomplete set.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\n\nYou set up the salt lick,\n\ncamouflaged your intent,\n\naimed true,\n\nand killed me.\n\nAnd to think...\n\nI thought I was loved.\n\n  \n  \n\n"}
