John get's Joe to assist him, in looking for answers.  \nTo what happen, and they continue the grim task of cleaning up the mess. Shelly has a surprise for Joe  \nat the end of the chapter.  \n  \n  \nFall of man dawn of a new age: chapter 3 searching for answers  \n  \nJoe drove first to his RV to check on it, everything seemed ok. There was no signs of any body  \nmessing with it. Joe talked to a few friends at the trailer park the he lived in, and they were in a state of shock  \nin what happen yesterday. His friends thought he was one of the fatalities, they were glad he was  \nok. He told them that, He was at Shelly's place when it happen. he packed a couple of days, of fresh clothes and  \nlocked his place, then drove to Shelly's place.  \n  \n\"How are you doing Joe?\" Shelly asked as he walked in to her place and hugged and kissed her.  \n  \n\"I am ok, they told me we might be doing this detail for another three days\" As he set's his pack  \ndown.  \n  \n\"What's that?\" as she stared at the pack Joe brought in. \"I brought some clothing to work on, I got  \nto modify it so it will fit me. I got to shorten the pant legs and put in a tail flap.\" Joe replied.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; \"I'll do it, and don't worry about that you are taking advantage of me. Oh how's your neck?\" Shelly asked.  \n  \n\"It's fine, it stopped being stiff around noon like it never happened.\" Joe said.  \n  \nShe grabbed his clothing bag, and walked to her sewing machine stand and open a drawer,  \npulled out a pair of scissors and a tailors tape. She walked up to him \"Joe, just undress to your under wear  \nand t-shirt.\" She measured his waist and in seam of his leg. \"You are down to a 28 inch leg and 29  \ninch waist.  \n  \n\"Well good and bad, I use to be a 34 waist, my leg in seam was a 33. I don't mind losing fat, but  \nshrinking in height.\" Joe said shaking his head.  \n  \n\"Joe, I don't care how tall you are. I just like the way you are, just keep being my friend.\" She did  \nthe changes to his clothing. \"I say you got the better end of the deal, you don't half to buy a new  \nwardrobe like me. One thing got's me puzzled, for what happen this morning, you should still be  \nexperiencing some pain in your neck.\"  \n  \n\"I guess, I am a quick at healing injuries\" Joe teased.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; \"That worries me, you are 35 years old and something like that happening to you should take at least one week to heal,  \nnot ten hours\" she finished one pair and started work on the other pair. \"I'll repeat myself you got lucky, on the clothing  \nissue.\"  \n  \nJoe looked at her, she was right. Right now the only thing can wear at the moment is those sweats  \nof hers. She had at least four sets that he knew of.  \n  \n\"Any word of who is running the stores?\" Joe asked.  \n  \n\"Yeah Joe, It's like the 1940's, guys are doing the burial detail and the women, are running the  \nstore's and businesses that are ok to run at the moment.\" Shelly answered looking at Joe.  \n  \n\"What are you stuck with?\" as Joe tried the fit of the first pair of pants.  \n  \n\"Banking and accounting, somebody's got to move money around.\" She took one of his t-shirts and removed her bra  \nthat doesn't fit any more and put on the t-shirt. \"I got a call from John, that why I am doing this.\" She grabbed one  \nof Joe's regular shirts and put it on. She had to leave the top two buttons undone.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; \"These pair fit nicely, thank you.\" Joe looked at her, she as she finished up the second pair. His shirt looks better on her  \nthan on him.  \n  \n\"Ok Joe try these pair.\" she watched as Joe tried the second pair, she was looking at his erection as he was changing.  \n  \n\"I guess you like how your clothes look on me\" she smiled.  \n  \n\"Can't help it, it's got a mind of it's own.\" Joe teased.  \n  \n\"That's what they all say\" she patted his butt. The door bell ringed, she answered the door. John  \nand Jill were standing in the doorway. There were two others with them, a male siamese cat with  \nbrown coloring and the blue eyes. A female with seal coloring (grayish) with black shoulder length  \nhair.  \n  \n\"Joe, this is Jose and Lynn. They are a couple of friends of mine and we are going to need their  \nhelp tonight.\"  \n  \n\"For what?\" Joe looked at the two new comers.  \n  \n\"I think that building exploding Thursday night, has something to do for what's happening  \naround the world\" said Jose slightly hissing his words.  \n  \n\"Joe, you know computers, maybe you can help us get some info out of that building\" John  \nlooked at him. Joe looked over at Shelly, she shot a scowl look at John.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; \"The law enforcement is stretch pretty thin, but the parts of the office is still standing at that  \nbuilding\"said Lynn.  \n  \n\"Joe if there is a police presence at the sight, well abort the mission\" John calmly said.  \n  \n\"You better!\" growled Shelly.  \n  \nThey all got in John's van, and drove to the building, but they parked a block from the place. There  \nwas no police or any other law enforcement at the remains. There was only the entry offices left of the  \nlabs. They entered through the rubble of the loading dock area, Jose and Lynn guided us in the dark.  \n  \nThey got in to one admin offices, found a intact computer. Joe removed the hard drive and hooked  \nhis laptop to it. Joe copied the info on it and reinstalled it, Joe also copied around twenty cd-ROMS and put  \nthem back. \"Boy I am lucky I brought this external hard drive, John that's all we can do here.\" Joe said shutting  \noff his lap top.  \n  \n\"Look at this\" Shelly pointed at a file marked BERSERKER FORCE. Joe thumbed through it, he went in to  \na closet and with his digital camera. Joe came out five minutes later looking angry.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; \"I can't believe it, first our factory jobs. Now fighting the wars, they want to do it cheaper\" Joe's  \nlips were up showing his teeth. \"Let's get the fuck out here!\" Joe threw the file back on the desk.  \n  \nThey explored the remains of the lab. Joe walked into the remains of the loading dock. He saw a another  \nfolder, he thumbed through it. The contents had ten papers and fifteen pictures. Joe looked at the pictures,  \nhe felt a chill. Five were marked DECEASED, the other ten showed before and after. He recognized the picture  \nof the wolf that bit him yesterday while he was still human.  \n  \nJoe saw five cages in the rubble. He walked toward them, he saw four dead anthro's and the fifth cage the door was  \nopened. He looked at the sign, his blood ran cold, the sign read BERSERKER. \"My god, I hope I don't become a  \nmonster like him. From what I read on that file, they inflict pain without showing mercy.\" Joe started shivering uncontrollably.  \nHe regained his composure, he read thru the packet again. \"Those poor people, why did they do this. I guess I'll never  \nknow. I fix machinery, not try to alter nature. I'll never understand scientists.\" Joe put down the file, he was going to copy  \nit. He decided not to. He walked to rejoin the others, rubbing his left hand. He can feel the brief pain of the bite, when he  \nthinks about it.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; They returned to Shelly's place. They were pulled over for breaking the new curfew rule in place, they were given a warning.  \nJoe hooked his lap top to Shelly's large LCD TV with a cable he had. So the other's can see the data from the computer.  \nThey were shocked, so was Joe. He got a good look of the file and he was still was worried about himself.  \n  \n\"I am not going to do this again\" As Joe looked in to the computer files. \"They wanted obedient  \nsolider's to do the fighting for them, and almost no pay.\"  \n  \n\"Come on, there is a constitutional amendment against slavery?\" Jose looked at Joe, with his  \nears flatten, and his eyes were squinted. He was pissed off.  \n  \n\"Yeah, that's for human being's\" John said with a feral look. \"I think that there is half human  \nand half whatever, they can use a legal loop hole, use anthro's for doing there dirty work for them.\"  \n  \n\"But it turned around and bit them in the asss\" hissed Lynn.  \n  \n\"All right every body calm down!\" snapped Shelly. \"What's happen, happen, we are not going  \nto fight among are selves's.\" \"Joe, we got to get this to the president some how, with out her knowing  \nit was us.\"  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; \"Well, we did not take any hard copies. The stuff is still in that office, I do a anonymous phone  \ncall to the white house does anybody have the oval offices phone number\" Joe looked at five shaking  \nheads. \"I'll find a way of letting her know were to find the answers\"  \n  \nIt was late, to avoid any more surprises they all stayed at Shelly's place. She had Joe sleep in the  \nbed with her, Joe didn't mind it one bit. She wrapped her arms and legs around him and held him tight.  \nAnd he was saying to her, that he was sorry, for almost losing it.  \n  \nThe next day was a another day of the burial detail. Eddie was in charge of Joe and John again, Joe asked him  \nif the mail service up and running. Joe was told in three to five days.  \n  \n\"Just be glad there is electricity and water.\" Eddie said to them  \n  \nThey were taken to a section in north Everett at a strip mall. Joe and John talked very little of  \nwhat happen last night. During a lunch break, Joe told him about what was in the file that got him mad.  \nThey were going to downsized the military, and replace the personal they cut with anthropomorphic  \nfelines and canines. The ones that were badly wounded they were to be destroyed and replaced with  \nsomebody else, just like that, no disability pension.  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; Unknown to Joe and John, Jose walked up to Eddie and talked to him for a few minutes. Eddie walked away and made a  \nphone call. Over at Shelly's apartment, a bobcat used a key to get in. He knew Shelly was taking a load of her stuff  \nto a location. He walked up to a laptop computer, he hooked a cable to it. He turned on his laptop and turned on Joe's.  \nHe copied the hard drive on Joe's laptop, along with the external hard drive. \"Shelly, I am sorry for going into your  \nplace. But your aunt wants this data to. Because she knows, Joe will get this stuff to the president soon.\" He turns  \noff Joe's lap top and turns off his. He places stuff back to the way it was and locked the door. He walks up to a  \nblack Suburban and got in.  \n  \nThey finished that day, Joe went to his truck. There was a black 1969 chevy camaro parked  \nblocking his truck. There was Shelly still wearing his shirt and t-shirt, leaning against his truck.  \n  \n\"Joe, I know you don't like apartments\" she turned, the shirt was she was wearing, was unbuttoned the t-shirt was  \nstretched Joe can see the details of her breasts \"Please come live with me in the house, I just got\"  \n  \n\n\u0026nbsp; \"What about my RV?\" Joe looked at her, his RV was a gift to him by his parents. Along with his  \ntruck.  \n  \n\"The place I got has a parking spot for it, plus it has a two car garage\" She looked at Joe with  \nthose light blue eyes.  \n  \n\"How did you get it and afford it?\" Joe asked.  \n  \n\"My bank reposed it a couple of months ago, They accepted my offer yesterday. I just got done  \nmoving in, so Joe please come live with me?\" She look at Joe.  \n  \n\"Sure, I'll come live with you. That RV of mine has to small of shower in it.\" she hugged him and  \nJoe followed her home.  \n  \nThree down and one to go. I filled in the blanks of how Shelly's aunt got the data and how  \nShelly knew about anthro's. It kinda hint's that Joe doesn't read much of it and Shelly must  \nof studied it while Joe was gone.
