Breaking up innocent families, people that she had never laid eyes on before. But it was too fun for her, too entertaining, from the thrill of the chase and the hunt to the transformation itself and then concocting one depraved act after the other, all for their humiliation. Her victims were transformed as she pleased, never two the same from one incident to the next, always needing something new, something thrilling, something that would keep her going when she wasn't even sure where she was going.

Was she chasing something? She didn't know. All she knew was that she changed up her appearance and she distracted attention from herself. It was not as if the authorities were ever going to suspect what she was doing to people. And, if anyone was able to talk, just who would believe them?

Her hair, that time, was long and black, curly as if she had styled it, especially for a night out, green contact lenses hiding her natural colour. In a way, Kate didn't even know what she looked like anymore, but she didn't have to, a chameleon that changed shade to blend into their environment. She hadn't gotten as far as she had in her humiliating abuse of others without knowing how to cover up her tracks. Maybe it was just one more thing that she took a perverse delight in.

She didn't have to answer that question, not even to herself, not as she pursued the father and son, Dale and Ben, up the mountain path. She'd been following and tracking their activities for weeks already and she knew they were perfect. Not that she hadn't had other options to go after, but when they ended up on a deserted stretch of hard to reach trail at the wrong time (with her there, lying in wait amongst the bushes and scraggy vegetation), Kate understandably had not been able to resist.

It wasn't in her nature to.

Dale was in his fifties, roughly, while Ben was in college, back on a break, she thought. She didn't care too much about that, her eyes fixed on them as they hesitantly skirted the rough scree of rocks to their left, a slope that could have been climbed by a more experienced hiker. However, neither were experienced, which made them even more perfect than she had suspected for her plans.

Innocent people, good people. Perhaps out for a bonding day, as father and son? Ben's hesitant laugh lifted into the air, as if his father had told a joke that he didn't know whether or not to laugh at. Maybe they needed that day together, maybe something bad had happened and they needed to reconnect.

Kate didn't care. The good people in the world, when brought into her fold, had further to fall.

“Agh!"

Dale jumped and clapped his hand to his neck, twisting back and forth, eyes wide and panicked. Kate smiled, the dart gun in her hand as she lowered it, allowing them that moment for panic to sink in, the clawing twist of fear slicing into them.

“What was that?" Dale started, though his breath was already coming in short, sharp pants, his chest rising swiftly, far too quickly for comfort. “Is there… Ben, is something in my neck? Look, look – get it out!"

“Dad, you're… You're freaking me out, dad, come on."

Ben wasn't so sure about what was going on. It could have been another of his father's, rather terrible, practical jokes. Since things had been going roughly at college, not quite as smoothly and as easily as they had a couple of years back in high school, his dad had always been trying to distract him, to make him forget about it.

But that day was different as his heart pounded and blood roared in his ears, effectively and efficiently drowning out all else. He shifted his weight, moving without actually being in the moment, left with only the sensation of movement as he closed the distance between him and his father. For a dart stuck out of his father's neck, drained of its contents, and even if he didn't know what it had contained it could only mean something bad. Sometimes, instincts knew, even when the mind did not.

“Agh! No!"

Ben stumbled, reaching for his neck too late as a second dart sank into his skin. He knew what it was that time, but he was not quick enough to yank it free, a few drops of liquid left on his skin, though he had gotten nearly the full dose of whatever the hell had been inside that. Twisting around, he clawed at his neck, straining to get whatever it was out of him, even though it was very much a futile endeavour.

Shaking and wavering as a cloud rolled over the sun, casting the mountainside trail with tough, evergreen trees into a gloomy shadow, Dale shuddered and, slowly, folded to his knees. The thump that his old knees made connecting with the trail was harder than he had intended, though it no longer felt as if he had the strength to hold his body up anymore. Breathing shallowly, his eyes wide and strained, feeling as if they were bulging, he tried to get up again, though his body would not obey his command.

And then his son was back there, filling his vision, shaking him by the shoulders, though he couldn't hear the words. Well, no, that was a lie, but it was as if the words were coming to him through a din of water, the weight of the imagined fluid pressing down at him, bearing him all the way down to the bottom.

Would he be able to get up from there again? How could he tell? He was so tired, every limb so dull and so heavy. Maybe it was better to rest there for a while.

Dale did not know that his body, not then and not ever again, was no longer his own.

In the bushes, Kate smirked, standing, out of sight of both of them. Everything, as it always did, had worked out perfectly. Well, for her, at least. Not so much for the father and son.

“Dad! Dad, we've got to get back down the trail!" Ben shouted, though the pounding of his heart beat against his eardrums roared in a din that didn't feel as if even his words could drown out. “Dad – listen to me! Fuck!"

It was not like him to swear, yet his father on his knees was not the man that he was used to, not the protector that he was used to. For that day was one thing, for the rest of their lives, that Dale would not be able to fix for his son.

He breathed deeply, though it was a strange sort of breath, a breath that no longer felt like it was his own. His lungs expanded more than he had been expecting, almost as if everything in his world had shifted, just a little. It was only enough for him to notice and not his son, but Dale opened his mouth, working his jaw, moving his lips, even if no sound came out.

He had to tell Ben, had to do something, had to let him know that…things weren't right.

Right?

“Guuuuuhhhhhh…"

That guttural groan wasn't going to do the trick, however, not as his breath raked against his lungs, need pulling through him, panicked and urgent. His back ached and he dropped to all fours, stretching, his arms shoved out before him, straining to relieve an ache in his body that had not been there before.

Ben reeled in horror, his father's clothes no longer looking as if they fit him, not as the skin of the man that he only knew as a parental figure bubbled and rippled, forcing his backpack to tighten around his shoulders. He might have made a twisted squeal of horror, or something like that, but it was hard to get anything out as he fell back hard, hands breaking his fall, half sitting and half scrambling back and away from the monstrosity that was his father.

“Aaaarrrrooooowwww!"

Dale couldn't help it, his throat twisting and ripping savagely into new vocal cords, shuddering as his fingers curled, nails jutting out into sharp, black claws. He raked them through the ground, dry and barren up on the mountain trail at that time of year, but he couldn't break through, heaving and panting, his heartbeat filling his ears. Dale tried to call out, tried to scream for help, but there was nothing he could do as his spine stretched out and out – ripping through his hiking trousers!

The thick fabric was no match for what he could only see, even in his twisted state of distress, as a tail, whipping back and forth, looking oddly beige or tawny – but it was hard to get his head around at that angle anymore. He grunted, his head thrust forward, feeling as if something was being added to his spine, clicking and popping into place. His head re-set itself on the juncture of his neck and he found that he could no longer look up as he had – not without trying to lift the front half of his body at the same time. Yet it was more comfortable to look straight ahead of himself on all fours, eyes blinking, blurring, his face bulging out.

Dale growled, a terrifying, animalistic sound that would have felt more fitting coming from a horror film rather than his lips, teeth aching, stretching – but teeth did not stretch! But he could feel them, acutely so, how they drew themselves into sharp points within his aching jaw, nose flattening, all while his old teeth were replaced with carnivorous ones. The bulk of his body swelled and strained, rippling with new layers of muscle, against his clothes, but such clothes, even the best quality he could afford, could not be expected to hold up to the might of a body that no longer fit within them.

_Rrrrrriiiiiiiip!_

_ _

With an almighty tear, his jacket slit across his shoulders and he ducked a shoulder, trying to get his bag off. Barely aware of what was left on his body in his panic, Dale twisted and bucked, even though his legs no longer obeyed him as they once had, kicking and grunting wildly. If he had been more aware of the finer details, the transforming man would have realised that his legs were adjusting themselves, becoming four-legged, his shoulders pushed up higher for a quadruped position while he stood on his toes, claws ripping through his shoes.

And the hair too… Oh, he caught the prickling itch of it – but that was about it. The sweep of the brown-yellow fur over his body, bursting to life, was lost to him as he heaved his body back and forth, though Dale was better trapped there than a victim in the tightest of bondage would have been.

Yet it was Ben who had to watch that all, scrambling backwards on his buttocks and hands, whimpering, trying to flee, only his body had become dull and thick and heavy and stiff too.

“No…"

That was the last word Ben managed to get out of his mouth as his transformation set upon him, though he had the twisted blessing of being able to watch what was happening to his father first and then at the same time. He didn't stand, screaming inwardly, his mouth frozen open in a gape of horror, but his body _shifted_.

There was no other word for it, nothing he could do, a sense of otherness gripping him. Even as Ben watched his father twist and contort further, hips pushing back and legs shortening so that he looked like he was supposed to be on four legs, not two. It was wrong, all wrong, but there was nothing he could do, not as his body spread with tawny-brown fur, a darker shade than that of his father.

Ben was not in a position to see the dark of his spine, the line running down his back, how there were variations in the shades of his fur, gasping and heaving, though he fought back against it. Every inch of his transformation was shoved away from him, tooth and claw, snarling even as his jaw exploded into a new muzzle, nostrils flattening and lengthening so that he could more efficiently draw air into his lungs. The snap of his teeth hooking out into cruel, sharp, carnivorous teeth bit through him as if he had snapped his teeth down around something particularly tough, though there was no time to take in one change before the next was upon him.

One thing after the other, heaving and grunting, he fell back, scrabbling at the air. Yet, with the grey clouds in the background, he was forced to watch with a gargled yowl of horror as his hand contorted into a paw, the palm thickening, the pad toughening, fingers shorter and yet still more functional. After all, fingers did not come with wicked, black claws, even though he could twitch and pull them, even as his nails formed into them, back into the tuck of his paws.

He didn't know how retracting his claws worked, but he didn't have to, not as he tried to slump to his side, his body aching, shirt ripping. It was almost as if his transformation was taking place at a much quicker rate than his father's, but his sense of time was off too, trying to kick his legs out but finding, already, that he didn't have arms anymore either but forelegs.

_Forelegs… Four legs…_

_ _

Straining to peel his black lips from his teeth, Ben panted, growling sharply, his back stretching, muscle pulling down his hips and thighs where it did not belong. No, it did not belong there, not at all, not even as he gave a whimper that was more animalistic than human, rasping with every breath he dragged into his lungs.

And yet, even then, he somewhat had a preview of what he was being turned into, all against his will, his old life lost to him. For his father was right there, some kind of cat on all fours, panting, his head hanging low to the ground.

There was more to Dale, however, than met Ben's eye, the nearly transformed mountain lion grunting and groaning, sides reverberating as they tried to draw in smooth, even breaths. It was hard though, so very hard, everything within them rebelling as their tail swung back and forth, finding tiny new muscles, ligaments, even tendons too. His face had mostly formed, but his ears migrated to the top of his head as they rounded, filled with whiter fluff, though that only helped filter sound and protect the sensitive inners. Dales swallowed hard, tongue flicking out to lap against his lips, though he hardly knew where he was, even as he sank his weight down into the ground, tiny stones and grit digging into the rough pads of his paws.

_Ben… My son…_

_ _

He turned to him, Ben rolling, staggering on all fours, swinging his head back and forth. His clothes burst where the man's body could no longer be contained and yet there was no containing what he was to become. No less for Dale as his entire body gave a rippling shudder, running through him from head to toe, his genitalia and loins…

They ached. Desperately so, yet the sucking of them back into his body, smoothed down with fur, was not what he had expected. Horrified, Dale stood stock still as what had been his malehood settled back inside him, disappearing with the other changes in his body, his long back and strong, powerful muscles, something else pulling up under his tail. Grunting as what he could only suppose was his sphincter clenched, he tried to look back behind him with his jaw slack, breathing through an open mouth, as his anal ring darkened to match his new, darker skin beneath his fur and, below it, a feline's slit drew into his body as if it belonged there.

Not a male… Not a man… But a mountain _lioness_.

Her life would never be the same again.

Ben could have been said to get away with his transformation with a lesser punishment, of sorts, though Kate did not mind that too much. It was always better, when she captured a pair of new big cats, to have a breeding pair. It worked better, for her, that way.

Ben transformed into a male mountain lion, the perfect complement to his father. But she, oh… The lioness, oh, her life would change, so very much, and Kate's fingers itched to speed things along, watching as Ben's muscles and legs re-set themselves, rippling down thighs and shoulders and what would have been forearms, all to set him as a quadruped. His genitals pulled back, but he was reassured, in a horrible kind of way, that he was not becoming a lioness by the presence of a fluffy sheath covering his shaft, the sense of it still being there, even if the means to relieve waste from his body pushed up closer under the base of his tail. The long length of his tail curled back and forth in juddering, shuddery sweeps, not yet possessing all the muscles with which to control it.

That would come soon, however, very soon. And even that was outside Ben's realm of control, one more thing that he would never be able to change, not as he fell under Kate's control.

He shuddered, eyes hopelessly fixed on his father – though could the lion be called his father anymore? Dale twisted around, staring under her body as she sprawled half on her side, contorting and trying to see the shame that her body had become. As she mewled and snarled, there was no true ferocity in her cries, horrified and struggling merely to stand, though the line of her sex beneath her tail hole, well, it could not be ignored. Even to Ben, who would have much preferred to go to sleep and pretend that the whole day, a good day twisted into something out of a horror flick, had never even happened.

Ben heaved, struggling up, though he was shaky, so shaky, claws digging into the ground, setting back more on his hind legs, feeling the weight sink into the pads of his paws. He ran his tongue around the inside of his mouth, feeling the sharp points of his new teeth, how much more flexible that tongue was, how the sway of his tail balanced him. The transformation completed itself without anyone's consent, smoothing out the rough edges of muscle, layering everything smoothly, from the tendons to the bones and from the ligaments to the blood vessels. As a mountain lion, nothing for him, even with his furry pair of balls hanging closer to his backside than he was comfortable with, would ever be the same again.

The last thing he knew of the mountainside was the bite of a dart hitting his shoulder and falling into darkness.

"}
