Checking that the weapon was in working order.

"Is it really that easy?" Archer asked, finding it hard to believe. "Just impress the shaman?"

Vask looked up from his half assembled gun. "You don't seem to realise how hard it is for another species to impress a krogan shaman."

"Throwing someone down a flight of stairs is hard for other races to do?" asked Archer. "I'm pretty sure an Asari commando could've thrown Dinak through the wall."

"It wasn't that you threw Dinak down the stairs, though that certainly helped," said Vask, putting his shotgun back together fully and holstering it. "It was because you showed that you understood what a krantt is and does, despite not knowing what one was."

"You still need to properly explain to me what a krantt is, by the way." said Archer, sitting down on a smaller chunk of concrete next to Vask.

"You gave a cliffnotes explanation of it being someone who fights for someone's honour and glory," explained Archer, "Then you were about to give an example before you cut yourself off and said 'We'll get into it later.'"

"And we will," said Vask as he leant past Archer and grabbed the pistol from the human's hip. "But we have to get ready for the rite."

Archer tried to slap the krogan's hand from his sidearm but Vask took the pistol anyway and started disassembling it.

"Hey," Archer protested trying to grab his pistol but Vask easily pushed him away and off the piece of rubble the human was sitting on.

Archer picked himself up off the ground and said, "You always have me maintain my gun."

"We need to make sure all our equipment is in its best working order for the rite," Vask said, inspecting the laser sight.

"We don't leave till tomorrow morning," Archer said. "There's still plenty of time for me to-"

Archer stopped talking and a coy smile stretched across his face as he realised why the krogan refused to let him work on his own gun. He leaned on the chunk of concrete and in close to Vask, who froze up, sensing the human's smugness.

"You're nervous," Archer mockingly cooed.

Vask growled and pushed Archer off the chunk of concrete again.

Archer picked himself up and sat down on the chunk of concrete next to Vask, who was angrily reassembling the pistol.

"I haven't seen you this nervous since we started dating," Archer said with a laugh.

Vask quickly looked up from the half assembled and looked around to see if anyone heard what Archer said, making Archer roll his eyes.

"You need to settle down and blow off some steam," said Archer. He looked around the blasted out ruins that Urdnot lived in. "What do you do here for fun to relax?"

Vask went to answer when Archer butted in, "That isn't fighting people to the death."

Vask thought for a moment before aiming the now reassembled pistol to the ceiling and firing it.

A loud scream was let out from the ceiling and a pyjak fell down from it to the ground, dead.

"Shooting pyjaks," said Vask.

"That's horrible," Archer said, horrified and watching the pyjak get dragged away by a varren. "Poor thing."

"Don't feel sorry for them. They constantly raid food supplies here," explained Vask. "And not just here but other planets too. I thought you grew up on a colony. You should know that."

"Not a frontier colony," said Archer. "Terra Nova's been colonised for years. And I grew up in Scott, the capital city."

"Tsk, explains a lot," scoffed Vask. Archer slapped the back of the krogan's hump, making the krogan smirk.

Vask handed Archer back his pistol and said, "You had no problem killing those batarians back during the start of the quarantine. So why would a pest like a pyjak be any harder?"

"That was in self defence," said Archer, holstering his pistol. He waved in the general direction the pyjak's body was dragged to. "And pyjak's don't try to kill me. They're cute too."

Vask gave the human a questioning look, "You think those things are cute?"

"I think you're cute. So my judgement might be a bit flawed," said Archer, making Vask punch him on his armoured shoulder in response, who caught himself from falling back with a laugh.

"So there isn't anything for you to do?" Archer asked.

Vask shuffled on the concrete chunk he was seated on. He cleared his throat and said softly, "I can think of one other thing."

"What's that?" Archer asked.

Vask looked at Archer before quickly looking away, and fidgeting with his armour.

"Oh!" Archer said, surprised that Vask would be so bold as to ask for something like that where other people could hear. Even if he was vague about it.

He looked around the blasted ruins, "Uh, is there even anywhere private for us to go to?"

"There's private areas where the clan members sleep," Vask said, quickly standing up.

He walked up to one of the Urdnot members and asked, "Where's somewhere to sleep? My krantt and I need to rest up for my rite tomorrow."

The krogan pointed behind him and Vask quickly walked off in the pointed direction, with Archer jogging to catch up.

"Well," Archer said with a coy smile when he caught up, "Someone's eager."

Vask said nothing, only grumbling as the pair turned into a hallway lined with doors, the krogan occasionally checking the doors for any free rooms.

After he found one he ducked in and locked the door behind after Archer followed him through.

Archer took in the room. It was bare with only a small cot, and a sink. It looked more like a cell than a bedroom.

"Not much room," Archer said, looking at the tiny cot after taking his helmet off. It looked like it would barely fit Vask, let alone both. "I guess we'll just have to be a bit creative."

Archer started to fiddle with his armour, trying to get it off. He was stopped when Vask came up behind him and gently grabbed his hands, pulled them away from his armour and replaced them with his own.

Archer tried to help the krogan in taking off his armour but the krogan slapped his hand away every time he tried. He eventually gave up and leant back into the larger alien.

Piece by piece, Vask slowly doffed the individual pieces of Archer's armour, working his from the top, downwards.

His undersuit was peeled off, exposing Archer's torso, and the human turned around to face Vask. He leant his head up and kissed the krogan, and deepened the kiss when the alien slid his hands down his sides and underneath the undersuit, pulling the rest off of the human. Archer kicking the undersuit to the side.

Staying in the kiss, Archer started feeling over Vask's armour, blindly trying pull the armour plating off.

Vask started helping the human take off his own armour, shrugging off the loosened pieces of armour and leaving him in just his undersuit.

Archer broke off the kiss and laid his head on Vask's chest, and the Krogan brought his arms around the human in a soft embrace.

He started peeling off Vask's undersuit but was stopped by the krogan after only exposing his a part if his chest.

Archer looked up at Vask, and was about to ask him if everything was alright when he was taken by surprise when the krogan grabbed him by his thighs and picked him up so they were face to face.

Trying to avoid falling, Archer tensed up and held on tight to Vask's shoulders, and hooked his legs around the krogan's waist.

"I won't let you fall," Vask said with a soft chuckle, and leaned his head in, drawing Archer into a deep kiss.

Archer slowly relaxed and loosened his grip on the krogan, letting him keep him up off the ground as they made out.

The hand Vask had on Archer's left thigh started to slowly stroke the scars streaking along the skin with its thumb. Archer responded by sliding his arms from Vask's shoulders and underneath the krogan's undersuit, pulling it apart to expose more of his chest and brushing a hand against the scar on the side of his chest from the food court back in Omega.

Vask took his hand from Archer's right thigh, keeping the other on the human's scarred thigh, and jostled the small human in his grip as the krogan reached down for something, breaking the kiss in the process.

What it was became clear to Archer when he felt something large prod his rear. He brought his arms back up Vask's shoulders and pressed his forehead against his boyfriend's green, cracked headplate, and braced himself.

He grit his teeth and groaned as Vask slowly, but steadily, pushed in. Archer was panting with his eyes clenched shut when he felt Vask's head move and nudge his face.

Archer slowly opened his eyes to see what the krogan was doing and was met with a quick peck on his lips.

Vask started to move his head back but Archer threw his arms around the krogan's large head and pulled him into a longer kiss. He gave a deep, rumbling growl in response and gripped the human on his thighs with both hands, and started to roll his hips.

Archer moaned into the kiss as the krogan picked up the pace, and Archer slid an arm from around Vask's head and slipped it beneath the undersuit he still wore, trying to pull it off.

He pulled it partially down one of the krogan's arms, with Vask pulling a hand away from the human's thigh so it could be removed fully.

Vask grabbed Archer's thigh again and moved to the side, bumping into the wall before turning and sitting down on the small cot.

He let go of Archer, who started rolling his hips when Vask stopped, and pulled off the rest of the undersuit from his torso, leaving it hanging from his hips.

Vask fell back onto the cot, making Archer put his arms out onto the krogan's chest to keep from falling off.

Archer looked down at the krogan with an annoyed look.

Vask simply chuckled and started rolling his hips again, and grabbing the human by his rear and moved him up and down to match up with, and meet his movements.

Archer gasped, tensing up and digging his fingers into the krogan's chest, making the alien grunt and thrust up harder into the human.

With a low moan, Archer started to push back into Vask's thrusts who started to speed up, now that Archer was matching his speeds. Moving into Vask's thrusts also let the krogan free up his hands to wander over his scars, taking particular care to be gentle when he reached the large, ropey one covering his shoulder and neck.

Archer rubbed a hand along the claw scars on the side of the krogan's chest, making the krogan growl and buck harder up into the human. The sudden hard buck made Archer lose his grip and fall forward onto Vask's chest.

The pair stopped and Archer went to pick himself back up but Vask looped an arm around Archer's back and pulled him back down, and into a kiss.

Archer shuffled slightly, but stayed in the kiss. Only moving to get more comfortable. He slid a hand down to the large scar on Vask's abdomen, making the krogan start thrusting again, and much faster than he was going before.

Archer panted hard as he was pushed closer to the edge, helping the krogan do so by pushing back into Vask's thrusts.

Vask let out a sudden, snarling growl, and his thrusts stuttered. He then started thrusting hard and fast, making Archer gasp and tense up with each thrust until he yelled out in release.

He laid his head on the krogan's chest, who rested his chin on top of the human's head, and slowly rubbed his back.

Archer felt sleep creeping up on him and tried to resist it, but the krogan's steady breathing and double heartbeat lulled him into slumber.
