The subject is the first prehistoric human to ever meet a wolf.","content":"\"They Called Him Fire\"\u0026nbsp;\n\nBy Ken Anderson, 2 June,\u0026nbsp; 2017\n\nSo many years,\n\nLifetimes ago,\n\nThey saw him walking by the sea.\n\nTheir curious eyes\n\nFound something new,\n\nSo they wondered what he could be.\n\nThey called him Fire,\n\nFor every night,\n\nA mournful blaze marks his camp.\n\nAnd many pairs\n\nOf curious eyes,\n\nWatch him shiver, cold and damp.\n\nHow he would rise\n\nFrom where he lay,\n\nTo greet the morning sun each day,\n\nOr bow his head,\n\nHis arms outstretched,\n\nAnd reaching for the sky, he'd pray.\n\nThey called him Fire,\n\nFor when he eats,\n\nThe trees are filled with deathly smoke,\n\nAnd as he stood,\n\nAbove his kill,\n\nWith tear - filled eyes, he often spoke.\n\nTo ask relief,\n\nFrom sacred names,\n\nA penance for the life he'd ended,\n\nAnd swear anew,\n\nTo end his shame,\n\nThat he'd see balance once more mended.\n\nAnd so he marched,\n\nInto the trees,\n\nAnd there he found my Mother's den,\n\nWhere curiously, he offered meat,\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\n\nAnd said,\n\n\"I've come to call you 'friend.
