There was a line where lips could be seen, and above that, two nostrils.

Human shaped torso, arms and legs. Presumably female due to female gentiles being present. Breasts and waist were covered with the same cloth that the tent was made of.

Tall, around seven foot.

Intelligent.

This was my first experience with another intelligent species, called the Vual. Natives to where I now found myself.

It took me awhile to get past the language barrier, but thanks to the patience of this species, they were able to teach me their language.

I am still learning about the culture, and still learning about the world I live in.

So alien, yet I could see similarities.

Evolution took a turn, and apparently it liked the Cambrian and Devonian period because that's the closest way I can describe the wildlife I encountered.

Land creatures, for the most part weren't as dangerous as the ones found in the water.

While the Vual couldn't really breathe underwater, they could hold their breath far longer than I could.

While at first I thought the Vual to be blind due to not having eyes. I found out eventually they could, in fact see.

On top of their snout looking heads, there was usually two vertical line markings that ran down the tops of their head and ended near the nose. They usually were a bit lighter than what the rest of their skin tone is, making me believe those were their eyes

I don't know how they see things, but I imagine its bizarre and different when compared to mine.

So far, the Vual have been patient to all my curiosity. Probably because I don't keep asking for hours.

In return, they ask me about culture of mine, to which they were confused, but accepted it like I accepted theirs.

While I didn't really live amongst the general population of the tribe I lived close enough with one Vual who lived outside the large settlement.

Lesa, the one I was living with and actually the first Vual I encountered, was sitting across from me.

It was pitch dark due to it being night time. And while the Vual did use fires, they preferred to use them more near their stone built cities, where the risk of a fire spreading was much lower.

Lesa didn't have a stone house, so she only used fires away from her home for cooking.

Anyways, she was meditating, her two hands resting on her legs, while I just stared at the floor, thinking.

I didn't want to interrupt her meditating, she usually did it before sleeping to clear her head.

When it was all done, we said goodnight to each other and went to sleep.

The next day, when I got the chance, I asked her.

"So...Lesa."

"Hm?" She hummed, turning to face me.

I couldn't ask her yet, I was too nervous.

"What's the plan for today?" I asked.

She could apparently pick up on the nervousness in my voice.

"You ok? You seem, uneasy."

"Oh no no. Its ok. Just wondering is all."

She took a moment before speaking.

"Well, we got to make a trip to town, other than that not much else."

"A-alright." The slight quiver still present.

She said nothing else as we packed up what we needed and headed out to the main "layout" as the Vual put it.

As strange as I found it, Lesa and the other Vual I spoken with found the words "house" and "settlement" strange.

There wasn't a way to translate city into their language, so I guess city is layout to them.

I got to say though, their architecture is impressive. The best way I can describe it is a mix between Indian and Aztec design.

The surrounding region was similar to that found at Teotihuacan at Mexico. There was trees surrounding the layout, but you could tell there used to be much more closer to the layout at some point.

The locals here by now accepted me as just another one of them, though there was still some who hadn't gotten used to me.

definitely an improvement from when I first arrived.

Anyway, we visited the usual merchants and traded what we needed.

Whenever I could, I looked at the temple. Curious about what lies within.

The closest I ever got was near the bottom steps, but was stopped by armed guards.

Shame though, I imagined it was nice in there, so many things to be learned.

As I helped carry some of the extra stuff Lesa needed.

As much as I wished I could do more, Lesa said I did enough, but still.

Shaking that train of thought from my head, I kept an ear and eye out as we traveled back to home.

When we got back, I put the stuff in their respective places Lesa asked me something that made me freeze.

"What did you want to ask, I know somethings up."

It would do more damage to keep it hidden. And the last thing I wanted to do is damage the trust we had.

Trust was a big thing in Vual culture, as well as honesty. If you did neither, then you were...

Well lets just say a less than good person...or Vual I guess.

So taking in a deep breath I turned and faced Lesa.

"Its...a matter of something personal. If you don't want to answer that is fine."

She just smiled.

"We've known each other for over a year, I think I can handle it."

Ok, here it goes.

"Its about...relationships."

"Like, the one we have? Your already my friend."

"No...intimate, relationships."

"Oh." She said, taking time to think.

"Well-" She then went on to explain the basics.

To sum it up, it is different with different tribes, but for this one. There's a certain flower that grows in the forests surrounding the layout, you must present it to the one that your interested. It is purple in color, and has a certain aroma.

If the other accepts you, they are to eat said flower you present them.

Ok, so a bit strange, but nothing too bizarre.

The flower apparently had "properties" to um...well enhance fertility or something of that nature.

Past that she didn't elaborate, but I didn't push it.

"I see." I said, understanding.

"Anything else you want to know?" She asked.

"No, that was it. Thank you." I said.

"Oh, alright then." She looked to her right.

For the longest time, there was silence.

But Lesa broke it when she said.

"You wanna follow me to somewhere? I want to show you something."

Curious I accepted.

And with that we both walked through the trees.

Along the way there, I think she noticed a smell far before I did.

Vual had great senses of smell and hearing, so it wasn't a surprise that later I too started to notice a certain smell.

It was a smell that reminded me of roses, but with differences, ones I couldn't identify that I'm sure Lesa could if she knew what a rose was.

There was a clearing, and by a circular pond I could see purple, surrounding the waters edge.

This wasn't what we came here to see, as the river continued down.

We followed it, the purple flowers lining the river.

I should point out that we were moving against the current, so we were going uphill.

Eventually we came to a cave, water pouring out of the entrance.

When we got close, she reached out one of her hands and said.

"Hold my hand, it gets pretty dark." She instructed.

Through the darkness we both took our time and walked through.

It seemed like there was no end to this dark, however...

The dark was starting to go, and light was slowly returning.

Soon, Lesa and I found ourselves in a grove.

It was like you took all of the rock on the caves ceiling, and removed it and the trees above.

Near the back I could see water pouring down into a large pond in the middle and flowing out of the way we just came.

Looking to Lesa, I could see she was taking it all in, but she's clearly been here before.

"Come." Was all she said as she walked to the pond and sat down.

I followed and sat down next to her.

For the longest time we just sat there, listening to the sounds of the water flowing. The fall in the back not being loud enough to deafen you, but just enough that you could hear it.

Lesa sighed, and looked in my direction.

"This..." She spoke but couldn't find the words.

I waited patiently until she did, focused on her entirely.

"This, was a place where I met someone."

"Someone, well...how do I explain it...he wasn't my husband, but a...well someone I loved."

She took some time to compose herself.

"We, never really made it official, we just followed what we thought was right." She explained to me.

I waited for her to continue, and she did after some time.

"See, he wasn't really from here. Now normally that wouldn't be an issue, but he was from a tribe that we were supposed to hate."

I think I can see where this is going, but I listened to her with all of my attention.

"At first, we didn't really speak to each other. When we first saw each other here, he actually ran out of the cave." She chuckled a bit after saying that.

"I thought that was the last time, to be honest I was afraid to see him again, but when we did, things went differently, he was still cautious, but didn't run the second time."

I could see her wipe something from her markings on her head, tears I think.

"Eventually, we started to talk more, until one day...he kissed me."

She smiled.

"It was so unexpected, I would have slapped him but didn't."

"After it was done, we just stared at each other for the longest time."

I kept listening.

"The next few times, he brought me some things, necklaces from his tribe, a club. Gifts."

"It wasn't until the final time meeting him, that he expressed that he loved me." She said.

"He said that we would move away, away from all the fighting...but...he never came back."

I took a few minutes before answering her.

"Did you ever...find...?"

She shook her head and spoke afterwards.

"When the fighting ceased, we were all called in front of the temple, there we could see some of the leaders of the enemy tribe, ready to be burned. He wasn't there obviously, but one of them looked at me, before he was...burnt...I think that was a member of his family..."

"Behind them...they gathered what they could, and burnt them as well...I can still remember the smell..."

She said nothing after that. Just let her tears flow from her face.

I wasn't sure if I should, but I did.

I reached out and gently wrapped my arm around her shoulders.

She didn't seem to show much reaction, and used her right hand to grasp mine.

At first I thought she was going to push it off her shoulders, but she just held it.

"You...remind me of him...a little bit...always curious, always helping, always caring..."

She reached out with her other hand and took my free hand.

"Its stupid, but even though your a different species than him...whenever I look at you I can sometimes see him..."

"But...I know he's never coming back..." She finished.

After that, silence, but something was telling me I should say something.

"In a way, those who have passed live on through the memories of others." I said.

She looked towards me.

"I guess your right."

After that she let go of my hands and laid back some, resting her hands behind her on the ground.

As it was getting dark I expected her to want to go back, but she said this instead.

"I keep a small campsite here, is it ok if we sleep here for the night?" She asked, turning her head towards me.

"Of course."

After that she got up and lead me to an area close to the edge of the grove, still some distance from the waterfall.

A single tent with a fire that had burned out long ago.

"Oh...right...there's only room for one...I can sleep on the ground." She said.

Oh hell no.

"No, I'll sleep on the ground." I said.

"Are you sure?.." She asked.

"Yeah." I said.

She looked around, as if thinking for another solution.

"We could- no..." She stopped.

"We could?" I asked.

"No no, its...dumb."

"What is it?"

It took her a bit before responding.

"We could...share...but sleep back to back." She said.

Taking some time to consider this, it didn't sound too bad...despite the awkwardness.

"If your alright with it...then sure." I said.

I mean, we slept in the same hut, just in different beds.

However, after agreeing, we were both hesitant.

Lesa however was the first in. I looked the other way when she climbed in, and followed when I made sure it was ok to.

So getting down on all fours, I opened the tent flap to see her laying on her side facing the left wall of the tent.

Slowly laying down next to her facing the right wall, my heart pounded in my chest.

Nothing wrong about this at all. Just short on a bed, plus it was only for tonight.

"Night." She said.

"Night." I said back.

After that, many thoughts begun to run through my mind.

Now I knew that other tribes didn't interact a lot, but I never heard of any war between them.

The barbarity of burning corpses of your enemies in front of the temple...

It was just...

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but still, the thought of it happening.

It was news to me.

Why wouldn't they talk about it though? Maybe way was a taboo subject?

I don't know, with all that has happened today, with Lesa's story and all the walking, and now the racing thoughts. It was enough to put me to sleep.

[The next morning]

I woke up to find Lesa gone.

With today already off to a strange start, I got up and exited the tent.

Only to stop dead in my tracks at the sight of Lesa, her top gone bathing in the pond.

She had her back to me, so thankfully I didn't see anything I wasn't supposed to.

Seriously though, she couldn't wait until we got back? Or use the waterfall so that I wouldn't see her?

As I slowly retreated back into the tent, waiting for her to finish.

Hearing the sounds of her approaching, I laid down and waited for her to open the tent.

She didn't say anything, I guess she assumed I was still asleep.

However I didn't hear the tent close, she just kept where she was. Until she gently tapped my leg.

"Hey, you awake?" She whispered.

"Yeah." I said, pretending to sound tired.

"Your not good at pretending." She said, amused.

I just opened my eyes to see half of her body looking down at me.

"I-" I said but couldn't find words.

"Were you surprised?" She said.

"Uhhh."

She giggled.

"Oh don't worry so much about it. C'mon, we need to get back." She said.

She seems to be in a better mood than yesterday, which was a good thing.

We made our way to the entrance, taking a good look at what we were leaving behind one last time, before she took my hand and guided me though and out of the grove.

For the entire trip we said nothing, but when we returned to her home.

"Thank you." She said.

"For what?"

"For listening, and attempting to comfort me."

She then gently grabbed the sides of my head, and kissed my forehead.

"I'm glad we found each other, you made life a bit easier for me."

"Glad I can do it and hopefully I can continue to do it." I said.

"Really? Why is that?" She said, letting go of my face.

"I guess it makes me happy for you to be happy."

"Hm." She hummed before entering her home.

As I watched her enter, I noticed she started to walk a bit differently than she usually walks.

Hm, might be nothing.

[Several weeks later]

Ever since that night Lesa's been acting different.

It was small at first, changes in the way she walks, staring when I wasn't looking.

Now, I swear there advances at this point.

She started to ask questions about romantic attachments regarding humans, and I answered them to the best of my knowledge.

When I did spill information, she started to subtly incent things, like gift giving, compliments to boost confidence, etc.

I would be lying if I said I didn't feel something. There was a reason why I was nervous to ask about romantic relationships.

Still though, would it work out though? There is so much I still don't know about this kind of stuff.

It got to a point to where I had to do something, as I think its the male who makes the first move.

Couldn't hurt to try, right? If it doesn't work out though...

Fuck...

It took me awhile to decide, considering all the things that could go wrong.

That didn't stop me from trying. The allure was too much.

The day I decided to present one of the flowers I told her I was going to explore and would be back shortly.

"Hurry back" was her reponse. Honestly, it made me feel warm.

I did my best to make it look like I was going somewhere else other than the place where I saw those flowers.

When I did arrive, I looked for one that seemed good enough for her.

Even though they all looked mostly the same.

Until I noticed something, one of them was a shade lighter. Looking more violet than purple.

Something just screamed take it. Though I took another one just incase and made my way back to Lesa's place.

When I got back, she came out of her hut and welcomed me back.

"What are you holding...behind your back?" She questioned, but with how good her sense of smell was, I think she already knew.

"Lesa...for the longest time...I've had..."

Damnit, not now! Work words...WORK!

"I've..."

"I-"

She just walked up to me and gently grabbed my arms.

"I can smell them..." She said.

I just gave in as she slowly pulled my arms out to reveal two flowers.

It was only then when she noticed the violet one she acted genuinely surprised.

Now she couldn't find the words.

Nervousness started to come over me, but was soon subdued when she started to speak.

"How did you...find?"

"It really stood out...so I thought I should take it...I got another one just in case...Is that bad?"

She shook her head.

"No its...its..."

As much as I was relieved, I still wanted to know the significance of the violet flower.

"Its very rare, to see a violet one. Its considered a sign of good things to come if you present it to your lover." She explained.

Oh, well that is...great!

I raised the two out in front of her.

She took a bit to compose herself, before taking the purple one and eating it.

After she swallowed it, she embraced me while connecting her lips with mine.

The kiss lasted for what felt like forever, which was fine by me.

When we slowly let go of each other, a thought came to mind.

She took the violet flower and ran inside.

I was about to follow her but she came out and it was planted in a pot filled with dirt.

Made sense, if it was rare then why eat it? Might as well preserve it the best you can.

At first we both kept it hidden from the others at the layout, bathing before we went to mask our scent on each other, and it worked.

We didn't really have sex yet, but we did sleep together, and gave each other affections, and when needed, respected each others boundaries.

I learned that two lovers first time is important. So when we did decide we were ready, we picked the spot that came to mind.

The grove.

Packing all we needed for the duration, we made our way there. We didn't bring a tent, since there was already one there.

When we arrived we set everything up.

This was going to be one interesting trip.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[NSFW part]

Well, this is it.

While I was ready, Lesa however needed time.

It wasn't as if she wanted to not do it, but well, its kind of like a ritual of sorts, it was supposed to last a few days to a week.

I think the idea was to build up tension as much as possible.

I guess the length it takes depends on how compatible you were, and if it took a week, then that's great. But anything less means the less compatible you are, and anything over a week is a bad sign.

At least, that's how it was.

Now its pretty much something akin to a honeymoon.

While I thought a week was a bit much, we packed enough for a week just in case.

And if we just get it over with, well the week might feel over sooner, which is what we want to avoid.

I was down with the idea, no sense in rushing. Not like we needed to go back as long as we stick to one meal a day.

I felt the arms of Lesa wrap around me as she hugged me from behind and sighed.

"Well, here we are." She said, sighing a happily before planting her head on top of mine.

"Yeah." I said, looking around. Wondering what other secrets this place had.

For the first day was pretty much us relaxing together, taking every now and again.

At the beginning of the second day however.

"You sure you want to do this now?" I asked.

"Oh c'mon, its not like there's anything holding us back." She said.

"But-" I was cut off.

"Take it off, I wanna see what I'm gonna be working with."

Giving in, I sighed in defeat.

"Alright..."

Gripping my loincloth, I slowly knelt down as I lowered it.

In front of me, Lesa was lying on her side, watching what I've been hiding from her all this time slowly reveal itself.

I assumed she was staring, but it was hard to tell.

It wasn't until she spoke that I got my answer to what she was thinking.

"Hm." She hummed.

That was it?

Well there goes what little self esteem I had left.

She then said.

"Not what I was expecting, but nice nonetheless."

"Is that good or bad?" I said, worried.

"Its a good kind of surprise, your a different species, so I didn't know. I'm not disappointed if that's what your worried about." She smirked.

I just sighed again.

"Well, its only fair I show you. Now that you've shown me what I can look forward to..."

She stood to her feet, and moved her loincloth down.

To my surprise, it resembled that of a female humans womanhood.

"Well?"

It took me a bit to rouse a response.

"I'm guessing you approve?" She asked.

"Y-yeah."

"Hm, good." She said before pulling her coverings back up.

I did the same.

Not much else happened for the rest of the day.

I was the first to enter the tent and lay down for the night.

When I heard Lesa approach, I could hear the sounds of cloth hitting the ground twice before she moved the flap and crawled on top of me.

Completely naked.

Was she ready?

I moved onto my back, waiting to see what she would do.

She just hovered over me and planted a few kisses before whispering.

"Goodnight."

She then laid on her side, facing away from me.

Normally I would have faced her, but I doubt she would want my member poking her in her sleep.

So I faced away from her for tonight.

The next morning she was already up.

When I looked outside, I noticed her rags were gone.

However when I found her behind the waterfall, she was still naked.

Deciding to surprise her, I gently wrapped my arms around her stomach.

She quickly turned and when she realized it was me, she relaxed.

While kissing her neck, I gave her a gentle massage on her lower back.

A gesture she seemed to appreciate.

Moving her mouth to meet with mine, we kissed for about a minute before I let her resume washing herself.

Today, we actually decided to explore outside of the grotto wanting a change in scenery. Clothed of course, didn't want to risk running into anyone.

The next day, I actually managed to get up first.

Going to the waterfall, I took off my covering and bathed.

Halfway through, karma decided to pay me back for the stunt I pulled earlier, because out of nowhere I felt a pair of breasts squish against my back and two hands wrap around me as Lesa rested her head on top of mine.

We stayed like this for awhile before she gently guided me to face her.

She started to kiss me, and for the longest time we stayed like this, our lips pressing and rubbing against each others. Our tongues dancing.

When this was over, however, she took me by the hand, and guided me towards the tent, our skin still wet from the water.

She crawled in, and I soon followed.

She laid on her back, and I laid beside her and we both resumed kissing.

Slowly I moved over from her lips to her neck.

After I gave some of her breasts attention, I placed a hand on her stomach, and slowly worked my way down.

"What are you..." She whispered, but soon stopped when I inserted two fingers inside her.

I was feeling around for any sort of clitoris.

Just when I thought I wouldn't find it, I felt two small bumps almost conjoined together.

Taking a chance, I gently rubbed it with even strokes.

"Am I..?"

"Yes...keep going like that.." She whispered.

I kept this up for the longest time, to the point my fingers were getting sore.

However, my persistence was rewarded when I could feel her getting warm, and her muscles contracting.

Until eventually...she came.

After two minutes of her insides contracting, she slowly caught her breath, before grabbing me and showering me with appreciative kisses.

We both lay there for awhile, before she decided to return the favor.

"Let me just..." She moved to be on top of me.

She aligned my member with her vulva, teasing it a little before slowly lowering herself.

I savored the feeling as her vagina engulfed my member.

She slowly rode me, moving forward so that I could give her chest some more attention.

Grasping them in my hands, I kissed them as she rode me, the tension building up.

It didn't take long before I erupted into her.

When I was done, we stayed like that for awhile.

When we were ready to sleep, she moved to my side and wrapped me up in her arms.

We slowly drifted off to sleep.

For the remainder of the week we experimented with different ways of pleasing eachother when the sun went down.

When the week was over, we went back, and resumed our lives, only with happy and fun memories.

Lesa said at some point, she wanted to make that our place should we decide to "have fun"

I didn't see the problem with it, so I agreed.

When I realized the violet flower, I swear.

It almost looked...

Brighter.

"}
