When I woke up this morning, this poem was sitting on the chair next to my bed, scribbled hastily like I had to get it out. I decided that it didn't look too bad, so I might as well post it here. For future reference to anyone who partakes, keep it 1 dose of penis envy.","content":"- \nWhat a feeling!\u0026nbsp;Such a start!\n\nI feel a pounding,\u0026nbsp;But not in my heart.\u0026nbsp;\n\nColors are changing; sounds have a name.\u0026nbsp;\n\nThe boards on my floor,\u0026nbsp;\n\nPlay chess while aflame!\n\nI knew this was coming; I've been here before.\u0026nbsp;\n\nSuch a wonderful planet,\u0026nbsp;\n\nLaid out on my floor!\n\nThe mushroom took hold,\n\nAnd pushed open a door,\u0026nbsp;\n\nTo a planet of wonder, of color and glore.\u0026nbsp;\n\nLike the Haze from my smoke,\u0026nbsp;\n\nLaying low to the earth,\u0026nbsp;\n\nAll I want is some peace,\u0026nbsp;\n\nBut a truth must come first.\u0026nbsp;\n\nBut I do understand, and I will go inside,\u0026nbsp;\n\nAnd dig up all the skeletons I've tried to hide.\u0026nbsp;\n\nI'll build me a palace,\u0026nbsp;\n\nTo store all my shame,\u0026nbsp;\n\nAnd I'll visit it rarely, so it stays the same.\u0026nbsp;\n\nIt's a place I can find,\u0026nbsp;\n\nThat's for my mind alone.\u0026nbsp;\n\nAnd when I leave it behind, I'll remember my home.\u0026nbsp;\n\nAnd I'll shout and I'll cry\n\nWith the clouds and the sky\u0026nbsp;\n\nAs I sit and I wonder if this life is mine.\u0026nbsp;\n\nAnd when the night ends,\n\nAnd it comes with surprise,\u0026nbsp;\n\nI'll accept the gift of grass\n\nAnd the holy sun rise.\u0026nbsp;\n\n  \n  \n\n","series":{"name":"Poetry, both old and new","previous":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/1945707-a-friday-night-on-main-street.json","next":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/1964547-somewhere-out-there.json"}}
