No, not one of those gay, furry muscular men you see splattered across various points of the net, I was of those furry, \"meet me in the woods and I might just maul you to death\" creatures.\u0026nbsp; In a village of mostly humans, I was one of a handful of furs around.\u0026nbsp; Nice thing is I was surprisingly well-liked. Go figure.\u0026nbsp; Of course, there is \"him.\"\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; Everyone in the village knew of \"him.\"\u0026nbsp; Many were afraid of him when he emerged from his cavern to buy supplies in the village and then disappear for weeks on end.\u0026nbsp; Sometimes, he would frequent the local tavern and sometimes disappear with one of the villagers, who would return after several days, half dead.\u0026nbsp; We all pretty much knew what happened to the unfortunate villager chosen, the stench of it would be all over him for days.\u0026nbsp; Many who were chosen left the village after a few days, never to be seen again. Then the cycle would start up.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; I was employed in the local bookstore.\u0026nbsp; In my free time, I managed to read just about anything on the matters of dragons.\u0026nbsp; My boss, an older black bear, kept after me to stop reading so much and just sell the books.\u0026nbsp; What can I say? Dragons fascinated me.\u0026nbsp; I had never actually seen \"him,\" only heard about it second or sometimes third hand.\u0026nbsp; Little did I know, I was going to have a firsthand opportunity to meet \"him.\"\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; It was just a few days before the annual harvest festival and the village was abuzz with activity.\u0026nbsp; All the various farmers began bringing their wares to the local market, while decorating it at the same time.\u0026nbsp; The aromas flittering around the air were intoxicating.\u0026nbsp; Pies from the local bake shop in many different flavors.\u0026nbsp; Wines from the vineyard, just recently bottled, samples available for tasting.\u0026nbsp; Beer, fresh from the barrel, all of the smells from the market wafted into the bookshop.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; With the festival going on, we weren't all that busy.\u0026nbsp; I was sitting in my favorite corner in the upper stacks, leaning up against one of the support posts, with a book in my hand, and my canteen at my side.\u0026nbsp; My boss had left only a few minutes ago, \"to go sample the wares.\"\u0026nbsp; He was a judge in the baking competition.\u0026nbsp; Lost in my thoughts, I was jerked back to reality when the bell on the front door rang.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \"Hello?\u0026nbsp; Is anyone here,\" the voice asked.\u0026nbsp; Although I knew just about everyone in the village, this particular voice escaped me.\u0026nbsp; \"I require some assistance finding a particular book.\"\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; I sprang from my hiding place, straightened myself and slowly padded down the stairs.\u0026nbsp; When I turned the corner from the back and looked into the shop, \"he\" stood there.\u0026nbsp; My jaw dropped.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \"Good a-a-afternoon s-sir.\u0026nbsp; I-I\u0026nbsp; am R-Rogal U-U-Ursus H-how may I-I be of a-assistance,\" I stuttered.\u0026nbsp; He was absolutely gorgeous.\u0026nbsp; I briefly felt a stirring in my nether regions.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; He stood about 7 feet tall.\u0026nbsp; The scales not covered by his clothing were an iridescent gold.\u0026nbsp; He wore a very simple robe, matching his scales perfectly.\u0026nbsp; Around his neck hung a beautiful deep blue sapphire pendant that reflected the light across the room.\u0026nbsp; His eyes, were about the same shade of his pendant.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \"Greetings Rogal Ursus.\u0026nbsp; My name is Vorah Nirsen.\u0026nbsp; I have it on good authority that you are the place to come to for rare books, are you not,\" he asked, after bowing slightly.\n\n\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; \"Yes Sir.\u0026nbsp; We have a substantial collection of current and rare books available. I began to feel nervous.\u0026nbsp; \"Maybe we should close for the evening and have a pint at the tavern and I will tell you more about my collection.
