{"sf1_id":202958,"sf2_id":"keNBJvYe","title":"Crimson Sands","author":"Tunuko","words":303,"posted_at":"2010-12-15T19:46:00.000Z","tags":["Demon","Devil","Other","Poetry","War"],"url":"https://fse.anthro.fr/stories/202958-crimson-sands","original_url":"https://sofurry.com/s/keNBJvYe","image_url":"https://cdn.sofurryfiles.com/submissions/thumbnails/7b/e4/7be475da-5297-4091-9e94-7f34d5853227","description":"","content":"Crimson Sands  \n  \n  \n  \nAs our boots fell heavy across crimson sands,  \nWe marched with pride to protect our land.  \nEach drummer in rhythm would strike the snare,  \nWhether we lived or died none of us cared.  \nTime around me now deemed frozen,  \nThe demon came forth calling \"You are chosen!\"  \n  \nThe silver moon made dead blood glisten,  \n\"You are chosen!\" again, I must not listen.  \nSo I took up my sword, towards the demon  \nBut he just chuckled \"You are but a heathen!\"  \n\"Out of my way,\" I cried to the beast!  \n\"On your mortal flesh I shall feast,\"  \n  \n\"You stand strong and proud, feather in cap,  \nBut I slaughtered the whore who sat in your lap!\"  \nHe must be lying, playing with my thoughts.  \nYes I'll ignore him, begin the onslaught!  \n\"The vile putrid wretch to whom you child was born,  \nAs she choked on her blood your name she did scorn!\"  \n  \n\"Enough now demon, I'll tear out your heart!\"  \nThough truth be told, where would I start?  \nFor the towering demon I am no threat,  \nSuddenly I feel the depths of regret.  \nI left her behind, without my protection.  \nMy mind consumed by hell's infection,\n\n\u0026nbsp; \"Come now weak mortal, follow me to hell  \nOr shall I just tear your soul from the shell?\"  \nEvery time I hear the demon groaning  \nI grind my teeth with utmost loathing.  \n\"Or shall I call forth the corpse of your daughter  \nAnd relive it again, the blood drenching slaughter.\"  \n  \nThe sands grew quiet as I looked to his eyes  \nAnd the winds blew messages of my demise.  \nAs my body got limp and fell to the sand,  \nI accepted my defeat to the demon's hand.  \nAs my corpse lay rotting time still frozen,  \n\"I told you poor mortal, that you are chosen.\"  \n  \n- D.Ashford  \n\u0026nbsp;  \n  \n\n"}
